Hey, Welcome to the OFD Watch Channel. My name is Aron Dunlap, and I’m nuts about watches. What’s OFD you ask? Well, one of my best friends coined this term. It stands for “Only F@#*ing Dunlap” (sorry kids!!) due to some of the ridiculous things I can come up with, including watch collecting.
I have loved watches for years, but in the last few years really got into the collecting and studying aspect. I mainly buy Seiko and Orient watches, but I love everything out there!! (Omega, Oris, Rolex, Squale, Timex, Casio, Steinhart….and on and on and on)

On newer Vostok models they don't use brass anymore; The bezel and crown are all stainless steel.

Very nice. I have this model, the 710 series is my favorite of the Classic Amphibias. For the price, a great watch, very unique. Worst thing is setting the date, very tedious.
Love Vostok watches, and have several, including a 710 ministry case, Scuba dude model just like your new one above. They are also fun to mod, with new straps, bezels, hands, dials, etc. All of mine have been regulated to run at only +4 to +7 sec. a day. Btw, they look great on a shark mesh bracelet too! Btw, you're lucky not to have ordered on Ebay, as I hear 7 to 8 weeks is normal wait now.
A Scubadude Amphibia is definitely on my list!

From what I know ,nowadays ,Vostoks have stainless steel bezels and crowns.

I've been looking forward to this one! The highlight for me on this piece is a toss up between the case and the dial. Both are excellent and it is hard to pick a favorite. Great review Aron!👊

I’ve had this exact watch(420 case). Picked up a coin edge bezel with a ‘Coke’ insert(Black and red). Never an issue with the watch. +10 to 12 seconds a day. Fun quirky watches!

Some of the cases are chrome plated brass. If the 3 digit case number ends in a 0 it's stainless, I think if it ends in a 1 it's brass.

Get the matching teal blue bezel from Vostok to match this face. Mine looks awesome with that and a black tropic strap.
I have this...with Arabics and black face...love it. You don't seem convinced though? I know the crown kinda puts people off, but it's a thing you get used to if you do it right. Cheers, be safe

- pretty cool looking. I got one that was dead on arrival, but the seller in Russia replaced it with return and no problems over last couple years since. These are fun and easy to mod also!

Aron Dunlap-OFD Watch Channel i tried dial and hands mods too. All came out nicely. Getting after market bezels to set right can be tricky - i had to experiment with different springs from different vostok watches. best of luck and have a fun summer!

If you have a one piece strap on a Vostok, wouldn’t that be a “Warsaw Pact strap”?
the casesback says Amfibyia, personally I like the caseback of the Komandirski I have better with the classic russian two headed eagle, but hey not like you see it anyway when youre wearing it.
Plot twist: The "scuba dude" is actually modeled from famous Russian salvage diver Tatiana Slovkiff. So "scuba dudette" is more fitting to the original

The crown installed on that vostok could have a crown oxidation issue. Not only if It Is used in salt water . It Will be evident in the next 10 months
No problems with mine in 5 years and has been used in salt water ...

I've finally joined the Amphibia club .I got a 150 case which I think looks the best with it's date at 4.5.I think the 710 scuba dude has to be next on the list .
