Hey Kern... Roger Johnson here. I am the guitar player on that tune and I am so thrilled to see and hear your groove and heartfelt rendition. We've received so much love over the years and we always try to send it back! We are all still close friends, and all still writing and playing. Love to us all... and keep on pluckin'!
Howdy Roger.....very cool that you stopped by to comment. I'm an old fossil (76) and always loved this song as it's perfect in a few ways. Great vox all around, stellar musicianship, impeccable song writing. Even though I only consider myself a song writer/rhythm axe player, I've done several play-along videos of my favs (on my YT channel) and would love to play-along with this one even though I'd never upload one. I dig the chord voicings Kern is employing and would sure appreciate a more tutorial-like breakdown of them. If you have suggestions, I'm all ears. :) Thanks again for stopping by.....hope all is well.
@@chulaivet The best "tutorial" is our live "Midnight Special" appearance? You can really hear and see the positions pretty well. I love that this video was saved! Thanks for the love brothers and sisters!
This is by far my most favorite song of all time! I graduated high school in '78 when this was on the charts. My only question is can you do this with a step by step teaching of the song? Thank you and keep rocking!!!!!!
@@kerndudley8146 chorus looks like you are playing Diads D, A/C#, Bm and the last one is what? looks like a E and A notes? Can you also provide a quick sentence on the bridge? thanks again.
@@satchdavet That's right; 5th, m6, 5th, 4th, you have the notes correct. Bridge is just a C/G (G6sus) = D,G,B strings barred at the fifth. Then a boogie pattern. FF, D, CC, D (X2). End of the second time > FF, D, CF, CE to a Dm > Gm7 root at the 5th fret then the C/G (G6sus) again to a D/A (A6sus). Play it well!
@@kerndudley8146 I've been looking all over the internet to figure this song out. In the bridge I hear a C bass note. I'm thinking Bb/C to an F chord. Any ideas?

Do you have tabs available for purchase?
I guess the answer to my question is, "No." Very nice performance. Not a lesson though.
Your title says how to play, but it's just a cover.. this not showing how play this song..
nice!!:)
Don't make them like that anymore.
