    I also put the dual fan on my Neptune 2, and it works very well

      Did you solder a fan by splicing it into the existing wire?

    Great video and walkthrough! Much appreciated! Will definitely give it a shot! Quick side question: Do you have your z-motor running faster than normal? Sounded and looked fast! Thanks again and looking forward to your next vid!

      I do. I have everything cranked up. I think my Z runs at 10 or 15mm/sec and my X and Y for safe Z homing and abl is 300 😆

    Nice Video! I was just about to upgrade my printer with a modification of this printhead too! What Filament did you use to print the shroud?

    Nice video! I was wondering how you actually took care of the pwm whine. I have this annoying noise on my N3 Pro running klipper that I suspect might be the same issue.

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer  Рік тому

      The whine I was getting was firmware specific for some reason. I changed to softpwm with a dither value in Marlin and it went away. Klipper i didn't have any whine with, but I'm sure there's a similar way to fix it

    Now that you have installed the second fan, why didn't you compare it to your Neptune 3? After all, you did the upgrade to reach (hopefully) the same performance as your Neptune 3.

    Question, did you have to change any settings like print faster or hotter using the double fans?

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer  Рік тому

      I always ran my filament hot so i haven't seen much difference there. I use mainly pla+ and petg; 215 and 245 respectfully

    How did you hook up your dual fans on the board. Did you just wire them together, or is there a spot for each fan

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer  Рік тому +1

      spliced together in parallel. I show the splice at about 2:00

    My brain hurts thinking how to solder the two fans instead of one. Do I just solder all the positive together, and all the negatives together? In other words, all 3 positives into 1 solder bundle, and all 3 negatives into another solder bundle?

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer  6 місяців тому

      Yes, it's just a parallel splice. Positive to positive, negative to negative

    Honestly this did not work for me. Now my prints come out deformed on the side that wasn't cooled before. I've also noticed that sometimes the fans don't turn on at all and I go into settings to turn them on mid print. I've verified that both sides are in fact blowing air.

    • @TheFeralEngineer
      @TheFeralEngineer  7 місяців тому

      Sounds like something isn't right. I've had great results and know others who are using this exact same shroud with good results as well. Curious why they aren't turning on in your program, though. That's a weird one.

      This was more of a catch-all for those looking to add a second fan and were afraid of what it might entail. It's not meant to steer anyone in any real direction other than to be inspired to do something similar 😺😺
