It absolutely did. I remember when the Gameboy Advance version was released, Gamepro stated that the soundtrack "was the closest thing you could get to Tchaikovsky or Wagner on a 16 bit platform." I and my friends agreed at the time and I still do.
Now this would've been great for the new resurrection release on Switch. Such a haunting, ghoulish piece. Maybe they can if Super Ghouls and Ghosts resurrection is planned?

djmixnmagic It was composed in 1992 in orchestras but kept in secret and transferred to the SNES style.
Video Games Live used it in their original medley. But that's really all it's been used in, sadly.
