Reminds me of the song, "If loving you is wrong, I don't wanna be right!"

"The Son of the Sheik" is terrific. I also love "Monsieur Beaucaire" but mainly for Rudy's performance in it.

Speaking of villains, I just watched an interview with Stanley Tucci on CBS "Sunday Morning." He said that when he began his career in the 1980s, he was constantly typecast as a villain. Why? Because he had dark eyes, dark hair and dark skin. "There was never any explanation in any movie about why an Italian did something evil," he said. "Italians were seen as innately evil."
Sound familiar???? This is 60 years after Rudy and it was still happening!

His body language in the first scene is very interesting, especially the way he leans toward the woman. I felt very attracted to him, but at the same time I felt a little uneasy, like he might be dangerous. You can see that reaction in the actress, too.

he should have never got into a marriage with Rambova, i think his life would have been more fulfilling. Although he loved her, she held him back in many ways including professionally.

I can't believe that person said she saw Rudy in "The Godfather." It sounds like all Italians look the same to her.
I'm afraid there will always be people who say such things, about Rudy, about your appearance, etc. It helps if we can laugh it off, but that's easier said than done, of course.

@kangadillo Stanley Tucci may be a little paranoid. Everyone starts out playing villains, including such quintessentially Anglo-American looking actors as Humphrey Bogart and Lon Chaney. Everyone can be highly offended if they choose, because there is no group on earth that has never been used as villains in Hollywood. Indians, black people, Jews, Germans, everybody gets it. Even little people, paraplegics and albinos. Please don't believe that Italians are harder done by than the rest of us.
