Put 480p. Before you start watching
I know it's boring to watch those long video without any movement and other, anyway it's for those, who is interested..
The Picasso of rave and sampling
Totally brilliant it’s like he put together a musical jigsaw puzzle way crazier than most sample based music at that time
it’s a fact Liam was into he’s hip hop before the rave scene. Lots of it in the Prodigy. Rap and rave music mixed together
I’m curious as to WhY uLtRaMaGnEtIc mCs aRe iN eVeRy pRoDigY AlBuM
I went to school with Liam, its funny but most of us listened to mixtapes with hip hop casettes. I used to sell a lot of tapes for lunch money 🙂 a lot were dope on plastic, these days I often wonder if Liam was buying my tapes.
This type of sampling is the one I love
It's not just taking the memorable parts of the song
its being creative
Yeah when you sample I believe you should add to it
He certainly had a good stock of good music to use.
sure yeah ..ur so right :).. cause internet easy downloading didnt exixst :).. so first brain knowledge..then material collection ;)
@Jack Benney "The Prodigy created by a record company..."
LMAO! No.... Maybe do a little bit of research into them before spouting nonsense...
You just have to do a cursory search of Liam's early DJ sets to see where he collected the majority of his samples from.
He still does. He’s still going strong!
This is amazing. My respect for Mr. Howlett just grew exponentially!
The beauty of sampled music!
And it certainly was the era with the Amiga making it super accessible.
Jericho is by far one of their best songs
I say stuff like that and then I hear the next song and the next song and I’m like, “now I remember why it was so hard to shop for anything else” I Willy’s l would just buy up their singles and remix eps
The "HOLD IT" bit in "Rip up the sound system" was reused in "Take me to the hospital." Only just noticed
Maaan.. there's SO many classics in here. Wow.. I'm actually blown away by some of them. True blasts from the past
This for me is The Prodigy and I guess Liam's best stuff, well I like all there stuff really, but I got to see them live twice in 92 when I wasn't old enough to get in the rave and they smashed it, I'll never forget, still the best gigs I've ever seen.
love this! thanks for the history lesson. Liam has some good taste in music
prodigy has mad respect and roots in socal with the sampling
that Pandemonium - Alter 8 Frequency "huh" sample is originally from the Commodores - Assembly Line
Which is also used in Their Law
the prodigy are a BIG GENIUS :3
yes he sampled. but for a young lad he knew a lot of songs and where to get the best samples from. thumbs up!!!
That was very interesting
now, immagine a flow of copyright law suits :))
Amazing work!
nice work mate.welldone!!!!!!
Fantastic!! Thanks.
Wow, great work
LIAM IS A GENIUS !!!!
Nice one, very interesting.
БРАВО, чуден пост приятел :)
SO GREAT JOB MAN !!
RIP Keith! Rip The Prodigy!
I had no idea, but fortunately for me that actually made electronic music ideas come to my head if you know what i mean
Howlett is a genius no doubt about it.
Aw. Need some fries with that salt?
Awesome
Good man. Thanks for this
This is great
very nice thanks!
love to hear where these samples come from!
Great stuff, he was so talented back then.
implying he's less talented now?
matt sweatgast money destroys talent
In some cases, sure but i was actually looking for a reason or example or anything to back up the idea that he's not as talented now.
+matt sweatgast now it's easy to do this stuff with the technology of our days but back then in 1992 it was a thing
Erak Dusk i don't understand what that has to do with anything. i agree i just don't understand why you brought that up.
Charlie also contains a sample from the intro to Joey Beltram - Mentasm, obviously.
men with taste this is awesome
Man, you should do mashups of all these songs +originals, starting with what evil lurks
@crbgamer yeap, u are right:)
like i know it's "unlawfully"
thank you so much
i'am glad that people like it despite that it wasn't so big work.
БОМБА!!!
@octap79
Thanks)
it's glad to hear that:P
Damn, I can't believe how many Daddy Freddy samples they used. They might as well send him a check.
'Cheque' yourself before you wreck yourself lol
Better yet, Ultramagnetic MCs.
Then again, Kool Keith was in Diesel Power...
Arthur Brown receives a monthly cheque for the Firestarter sample. My cousin knows him. So Daddy Freddy probably does too !
Daddy freddy should get paid for this
I WACTHed this when I was little
yup, the break there is actually from The Assembly Line by The Commodores
yeah!!
jajajajajaja awesome work
Interesting!
The Arthur Brown one was the only one I previously recognised.
Presumably Kate Bush also sampled the radio conversation used on Hello Earth?
I was listening to an LP today when I randomly heard the intro of firestarter, havent seen it on ur videos yet which one was it? I forgot the name.
@karapcha
yeah i'am completely agree with you it's not that easy to make a well known composition using samples.
it's more about art you know.
Daft Punk also sampled Big Daddy Kane - Set It Off for their remix of Ian Pooley - Chord Memory
THANK YOU
I knew I heard that part somewhere
Daft Punk have sampled more stuff than they actually produce.
Wrong video
@@daveo576 Yes, Dave.
They Sampled a Lot.. A LOT!
[Human After All Sampled 2 Songs in Two of Its Songs, and Random Access Memories had Nasa and The Sherbs with "Contact" Featuring DJ Falcon.]
Some of these songs needs to get put on a video game or movie soundtrack.
100th comment!
Many songs from The Prodigy already appeared in video games such as the "WipEout" games.
@@netakoWipEout 😂😂😂
Funky Shit, Anyone?
Funky Shit was in Event Horizon.
nice !!! :D
Yup. The Commodores, The Assembly Line
oooooo alex tahks .. simply sample treasure knowlege... thaaaaaaaaaaanks .. is in the box
thanks, i havent control the release date so may be u are right
👍💥🔥
awesome prodigy sampled from awesome sources. nice guide for what more cds to buy
one thing missing here: bell sound (e.g. in out of space) sampled (and post-edited) from pink floyd - money
Claustrophobic Sting samples Money as well.
@AlexCurlyHair i was just listening to the prodigy since i was 3 years old.:D
i didn't remeber while my father hasn't reminded me
interesting!
@octap79
I'am glad to hear that*
The ''Ha!'' sample from Pandemonium is actually from an old drum break.
9:21 from "Hackers" 1995
So much classic hip hop in there..!
@crbgamer i haven't seen any band who put their composition structure into the credits
so here's no anything surprising
Well, The Bounce Sound Effect Used for Out of Space is the Same Sound Effect from Hanna Barbera's Cartoons, As Well as Nickelodeon, DHX, Disney, Cartoon Network, Japan, Even Here at the Middle East, and (as a 16 Year Old High School Student) will be Used In My Upcoming Stage Play "My Small World" (My First Directorial Effort on Stage for an Elementary School).
❤
@AlexCurlyHair well I do apologize, although I thought it was kind of a law to take someone else's work without credit or royalties?
Great compilation tho, really answers a lot about such great music!
or Peter Piper which did sample Take Me to the Mardi Gras :)
@BustyGretchen
you right)
Anyway he is a genius i think
7:20👍👍👍
Неожиданно)
Top 🐜🐜🇧🇷✊🏻 forever
A lot of this sounds like music from Amiga MOD files :)
Yeah it does , Jesu on E,s and all that , it’s why it was so popular everyone with an Amiga was making this kind of music without any musical knowledge just a feel for what sounded good
nice upload - spotted a mistake tho! at 1.34 says they sampled altern8.- that huh breakbeat is the assembly line break. Famous b boy break used by...... everyone!!!
Dreadzone also sampled chase the devil!
Run DMC - My adidas/ peter piper came out 1986
I wonder how he got hold of them in 1992. Today i would find proper music on UA-cam or any streaming service, download the flacs via torrents, load them into Kontakt. Back then?
in what music?
the intro to Out Of Space IS NOT sampled from Bob James' Take Me to the Mardi Gras!!!!!
@hypescratchin thank you! I should make something more
savage
Sample from other samples. West street mob 0:35 taken from Incredible Bongo Band, Apache. And so on...
Yeah, this is good. Big Daddy Kane and others just brought it back. Not to mention, The Prodigy.
@cbender111 but working with samples is more than hard. You should spend much time to each sample. First time i found it very strange when i saw how he uses loops from other hip-hop artists, but later i discovered that he spends a lot of time working with them.
For example he was making his "warriors dance" for about 6 months, at first sight, theres no anything special, Addis Posse - Let the warriors dance and the vocal part of Bridget grace
so simple but it's classic
The only person I reckon who could have the mixing powers than Liam is your man out of Bomb the Bass.
NDrinks is that the future crew demo face I Spy in your display pic?
Bomb the Bass was sampled in 'Death of The Prodigy Dancers'.
'LET IT ROCK YOU!'
Tim simenon
6:53 From Rockstar Games's Grand Theft Auto San Andreas K-JAH WEST FM Tune!!!!。
At 1:33 it's The Commodores, the "huh" part
Portrait of an American Family album, song is "Lunchbox", a song that was composed in the early stages of the band, when the name was "The Spooky Kids"
3:42 Also used by Marilyn Manson
@baggoz1000
Thanks dude:))
@JordanParsonsMusic u're welcome:)
Probably a dumb question, but when artists take samples like this, do they have access to that one particular sound channel (if I'm using the right terminology) or do they have to somehow manually remove all the background noise they don't want?
if theres drums or other stuff going on in the background, no, you cant remove it (although it can be thined out a bit with EQ). What Liam used to do tho, was sample it anyways so the vocal + drums were in time with his track so you barely notice the drums of the original sample over his own - check out the Ultramagnetc MCs samples on Out of Space.
Nowadays people have access to stems which are the multitrack (or channel as you call it) recordings of the original song.
@@OllyDee123 I always thought it was sped up so much that the drums were pitched up as well.
there is a prodigy track, of which the name escapes me, that uses a sample that says "and your thoughts'l be slowed down cmon" any ideas of its origin pleeez?
agentm00 Jericho (Genocide II Remix).
The sample is from Public Enemy - Power To The People.
It’s on Jesus on es it’s an amiga mega demo
My tiny brain is trying to figure out how they did that without audacity
1:32 I just realised one of the instruments is the same as one used in Wacky Workbench (Future) from the Japanese version of Sonic CD. Weird.
Sorry for responding so late but, they maybe used the same sample disc the composers for the game used.
Some of these are just wrong. Fair play for puttin it together though.
Eureka
@crbgamer they paid around 8000£ just for the word "fire" so...its pretty fair. Also I don't really think that this is "cheating",this is how the hip-hop was produced in the early days,so he did that with the electronic music. If you just take a look at the smack my bitch up or voodoo people rework by Jim Pavloff , you'll see that its not just about cutting parts from here and there..its much more
