I’m shocked at the viewpoint ‘they cheated’ or ‘they copy and pasted’. No no no! You don’t get it. Did you even realise these were samples before watching this video? Probably not. That’s the beauty. It’s an art form. It’s an ear hearing half a second of a song and repurposing it.
I gotta agree with this. Sampling is like, making a dish with what you have in the kitchen. You just need to find the freshest and finest ingredients in the fridge and put them all in a pot.
Amen to that! Liam is a real genius🔥🔥
i always loved this genre of music, be in in rap music or this, its a cool way to re-interpret the music and just mess around lmao, but also looking at the source is another aspect to see what was used
Liam has to be one of the biggest musical geniuses ever.
So underated. Iconic melodies from breathe, firestarter to omen. If were a pop star releasing the music, he/she would imbed their name in history.
One of the biggest crate diggers too.
Take me to the hospital. What a song. Still pumps me every time i listen to it.
Liam's record collection must be massive or that his exposure to music is so intense to be able to sample all these tracks. What a genius!
When the prodigy sample the prodigy
They used Firestarter's riff on Baby's Got a Temper
Which was ontop of keith flints work with flint .
the Beastie Boys sampled The Beastie Boys before the Prodigy sampled the Prodigy.
Tommy C Expected, since The Beach Boys existed before the prodigy was even existent, there fore it would be impossible for them to sample themselves after the prodigy did.
the prodigy are genius
Liam is!
I mean that's why there called prodigy because they are
@@michealgill7582 officially ONLY Liam is the band "the Prodigy"
@@julikb Nope, that is not correct.
@@justinium77 it is correct, just you don't know that.
The Prodigy is very rare to come by and usually attract a large fanbase and audiences and that is what they are! Uniquely Different!! Love what Liam, Maxim and Keith have become!
Liam is the best beatmaker/producer ever.very underrated
underrated? LOL
yes,no one mentions him in the same sentence as dr dre or rick rubin.he is way better than both
Better than Dr Dre and Rick Rubin? That’s taking it abit too far lmao, Dr Dre mixes all his songs by ear through only subwoofers, his Mixes are the best in the world and his Artist Development coaching speaks for itself
underrated? haha
Yup, been loving them since the start. Fuck he is a genious Liam
I love Liam's creative sampling. Did since 1994. Makes The Prodigy music sound distinctively old-school even in their latest productions. I wouldn't have known 90% of the originals if it wasn't for The Prodigy.
Just imagine the copyright battles Liam has to go through on a daily basis...
As long as it's altered in some way or only a couple seconds long of a sample, it falls completely under fair use.
@@smward87 Thats actually not correct at all. The only way you can use a sample without getting sue'd or getting it cleared is if you alter it to the point that no one can tell what the original sample was.
@@smward87 No way. They chopped the sample so much that it's impossible to recognize them. It's not like Kanye sampling the whole song and making a new one.
The ultimate shock when you discover Ella Fitzgerald is the base of The Day Is My Enemy track !!!!
Awesome Job By The Way!!!
Antoine Soto It's borderline insane. I wonder whether Liam already has a direction / general idea in mind when he thinks about how the sample will fit or he plays with it for a while without really knowing where it can lead.
u know guys that's the exactly idea of Liam genius. u and me really know the song. and the songs. and the favorite moments (samples I mean) and Liam take it. and do it. Worriers a like a LOT. (exsept 1994 of course) its really good powerful and magic track. and will be. like enemy. its really good.
The vocal part is based on Ella Fitzgerald, but it's not a sample. Martina Topley-Bird sings it in The Day Is My Enemy.
I love that Warrior's Dance is basically them paying homage backwards to the house and rave groups that were around when they started.
...Come to think of it, the entire album kind of is. Maybe that's why I like it so much.
Warrior's Dance is just so good, it definitely has an Experience vibe to it.
The entire album aces what remodernization/tribute of an old genre should be like. Warrior's Dance is also one of my absolute favourite songs on a tie with Comanche just for how frenetic and bass-aggressive it is, true oldschool rave
It was also a record label . And yep Liam sampled at least one of their tracks. I used to go their studio 30 years ago, in Harrow rd under a hair dressers. Liam in later years lived not from it.
I'm shocked how many new artist I can discover from all this samples! it's crazily UNSANE!!! THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!
This collection of videos is melting down my brain right now... Take me to the hospital!!
This is just making me love and appreciate them even more
It would be awesome if the Prodigy made an album based on samples from their other albums and tracks!
Well tracks here and there have had reused samples and in fact "Roadblox" is based on a live version of "Spitfire"
And Wake The Fuck Up is a new track made out of a remix too
Prodigy best band in the world..........
Great work, reaffirms our belief that Liam is a magician , Invaders , what an amazing album. And wow , such varied music he samples from , where does he hear this stuff? A big thanks on the bonus for having some Prodigy Experience samples, an absolute classic album,
who is here after prodigy released "We Live Forever "?
I don't know how none of their songs from "No Tourists" has charted in the UK. It's their best album for a quite a while. Their most recent songs to reach the charts were "Wild Frontier" which got to no.36, and "Omen" back in 2009 which got to no.2 in the UK Chart.
Only just discovered your videos. Thank you so much for showing me the original samples in their true form. Already ordered some original vinyl because of you 🥰
it all started with Charly))) and it worked !! there is nothing surprising. except Liam's brilliant talent
Dude, awesome video! I love The Prodigy!
Eightminutesupsidedown, Thanks for the work, it's incredibly interesting!

pure genius. and its very interesting to listen original either :) so many good songs
Me suscribo!!!
it's kind of insane that over 50% of their stuff is not even theirs but they make it sound like the prodigy without question no matter what
also more to the point how he finds all this stuff. listening to every record ever all day? ^^
i don't even know how you do that
Amazing ! Now I love The Prodigys music even more !!!
This is really well put together, nice work
that dude is the einstein of beats
The Prodigy we live forever, my life.
Great resampling work by Liam🤓👍
wish i'd found this channel much sooner than i did - mind BLOWN
Really packed them into warriors dance
Great work guys, thanks for the vid 👌🏻
RIP Keith Flint
Mind. Blown.
this is genius, thanks for the upload
AMAZING!! Thanks for your work!
Mircea Tătuc you’re welcome man. Thanks for showing love 😊
My love, always goes to the stars! ;-) \m/
tnx to share, this is awesome!!
Rip keith
Amazing! Thanks!
ahhh music candy created for music lovers from musical genius mind...2 words.. thank you xx
а я в 1992-м )
13:22 - firestarter beats
I've looked a bit further back than the Ten City track, it could possibly originate from a track from 1969. M.B.P. Mix did a remake of Light My Fire that has an uncanny resemblance to this break. Whilst I can't say with any certainty it's a direct sample, the similarities are hard to ignore.
the part of the day is my enemy is surprisingly surprising. cant even think it has any connection between those two music
Kishore Kumar
Indian legend!
HH chop shit so funky, love this Liam way. I hear his aging how synt notes. Great producer and
innovator.
5:15 : "Now Hear This!" Beat
Again, truly awesome! How the hell did you hear and find all these bits and pieces??

Just researching mate. Forums, interviews , fan pages and all that good stuff.
Ah, Liam. You genius!
Liam listens..a lot. What a good ear, hope they all got paid.
Yeah!
Rip Keith...😭😭I loved him
13:59 the sample was also used in "One Man Army"
You're probably right, it sounds like but, and Tom Morello of Rage does feature on No Man Army.
I love prodigy🇧🇷
love that sampling talent. wich software do you guys use for producing and sampling? I would like to start learning, but have no idea where to start. I guess you can sample anything, but if you upload a copy of it to UA-cam copyright will detect it, right? thanks
I heard Reaper is good.
Thnk u !!!
This men is so fking awesome!!!
Most samples are cleared before releasing so its all good
Hell bro... did you really figure these all out yourself?
Amazing !!! 👏
A couple. It’s all just research matey. The information is all out there, I just compile it together into a handy video for you all 🙂

There's one Worlds on fire. I am not sure if its a recreation though, I think its a keyboard part
from the Stranglers no more hero's

thanx
Hope there will a video of the samples from the current album. These are great to watch and find out where Liam used the old songs he sampled from to write his tunes for the prodigy
Stephen Hardy
There is one already, go look 😊
Warrior's dance
True genius
We are the ruffest, break & enter, rhythm of life, funky shit, rebal radio and get your fight on - is for me there hardest and most raw tunes!! The tracks that never got milked.
J Break Avon listen to fight fire with fire. It’s heavy af and literally ‘raw’, I don’t think Liam used anybody else’s samples. Or his own.
And "Dogbite" was sampled from "The White Stripes Jumble jumble"
But dogbite never got released!
My dream is It get released
🔥
True Faith - An early alter ego of the legendary Jeff Mills.
I think the wild frontier sample at 9:20 was used in live performances for omen.
10:30 ... BABYLOOOOON
.... Thus.... The Prodigy
My lover keith flint and my cool band for ever
Thanks for the great job! I can't seem to find the sample on "Girls". Did I miss something?
I have a few videos on The Prodigy, the girls samples is in one of them.
Found the video whilst wearing my Prodigy T-shirt
Can I ask how you found the video? Just out of interest.
Also, I found another thing Prodigy could have sampled for Warrior's Dance, which was the Video Toaster 4000 commercial. Like it wouldn't surprise if they had used some of the similar sound effects.
( ua-cam.com/video/C_K8vnx2ZDc/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/C_K8vnx2ZDc/v-deo.html ) link to the video parts where they sampled
(ua-cam.com/video/sz0wKgcyETk/v-deo.html) the part where it was in warrior's dance
14:36 I wonder if the cartoon man in that picture inspired Keith's look?
Heard that intro sample before @0:06 in Pain's "Shut Your Mouth" song. What is the original?
Shut Your Mouth is the original. Liam sampled it from there. Yes I know this is a few years old, but maybe you still wonder.
Any chance getting hold of the samples in this edition man.
Oh, look. The Prodigy sampled themselves.
Can you make a loop of the True Faith clip using just the chorus used by the Prodigy?? I mean at it’s original speed with the original background?
Enrico forever!
Any chance you could do Pop Will Eat Itself samples?
eightminutesupsidedown you could make samples of the chemical brothers
That's most definitely on the 'todo' list
It's done. have a look :)
Wow
Will you do a vid for their new album?
Robin Dreier
Yep 😊
Liam Howlett is a fucking Genius
