    Dan Evans endorses it too! The adjustment period requires better footwork so ensure you have the best chance to hit that sweet spot.

      It definitely requires better footwork. That and adjusting to how small the sweet spot actually is

    I’m currently demoing this stick and love it , currently was playing with the iso 305

      That's awesome that you are demoing it! What's the biggest thing you like about it so far compared to your ISO 305?

      @@brodytaylor2020 I like the iso but the handle shape is horrible, the plow throw and the stability but the feel on the pro-staff is what I’m liking the most , I’m usually a 18x20 type of guy but the prostaff has really good control, this is my 4 week testing and I’ve been loving it, got it strung up with 15L baseline isospeed at 48, only negative for the prostaff is if you hit out of the sweet spot it lets you know right away, need to stay focused

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  6 місяців тому

      Yeah, this racquet definitely lets you know if you hit outside of the sweet spot. Is this your first time using a 15L string or is that the string that you consistently use?

      @@brodytaylor2020 I’m a big rafa fan, so I have a few Aeros and I used to string them up with rpm blast but that stuff is expensive compared to isospeed baseline control, if it’s a 16x19 pattern I’ll string it up with 15L , but in my iso 1.25

    my pro staff v13 its probably 340grams / 11.99oz (strung+overgrip)... i strung it 57/55 and its incredibly good but after 45min hard playing the weight start to get you (first KIA the service) , so every second i have to hold it with the left hand while playing its a bonus, i recommend a good delts/arms/core resistance training pair with the pro staff 315grams/11.11os. i mean ... imagine the prostaff 340grams/11.99oz unstrung can be 13oz strung +overgrip its crazy. i use the pro staff for fun but ill stay with my blade 98 v8 .✌✌

    Good one-handed backhand racket but is it a good doubles racket you think?

    • @Tennissensitive
      @Tennissensitive 6 місяців тому

      Boris I totaly agree. It is a nice stick for onehanded backhand 4hand also. Sweetspot is not that small..

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  6 місяців тому

      For doubles I would say the Pro Staff 97L may work a bit better since that racquet is lighter and more easily maneuverable but if you want a racquet that is going to be very stable at the net and the weight doesn't bother you then the normal Pro Staff 97 works fine

    Am a ezone 100 sq.in user. I feel it has power n spin, sometimes too much. Control n feel r a lil less.
    I hit a heavy ball and am thinking of going to a percept or blade 98.. which of 2 would u recommend ?

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  6 місяців тому +1

      I would look more at the Percept 100 to start with. If you want more control then the Blade 98 will do just fine but the Percept 100 will have a little more feel and be a bit of an easier transition in my opinion

    • @CH-yp5by
      @CH-yp5by 6 місяців тому

      You should have just go for the Ezone 98 which is has a tight 16 x19 string pattern so its got way more control, your already used to that head shape so the transition makes most sense!

    • @shriramoka
      @shriramoka 6 місяців тому

      @@brodytaylor2020 tks. I have played with a lot of Babolats before shifting to ezone. Esp the Pure Aero and Pure Strike. While the ezone is definitely easier on the arm, the Babolats gave me sidespin / curl on the ball thru the air. Ezone for all it's wider sweetspot and extra pop, does not have this side-spin ability. Yonex needs to find a soln to this drawback in the isometric design .
      Do u have an opinion on the Wilson Shift ?

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  6 місяців тому +1

      The Shift to me is a weird one to recommend because of how it is supposed to create spin. If you have more of a semi-western/western forehand or tend to put a lot of topspin onto the ball then the Shift can be a good racquet to look into. Without that, meaning if you tend to hit more flat shots then spin, I would probably stay away from it in my opinion. I made a video on the channel about the Wilson Shift so that may be helpful to watch if you have more questions about the racquet

    I would think the WIlson Ultra which comes in a 97 would be a better comparison than a blade thats a 98, and if your going to use a stiff racquet use natural gut orr a soft multifiliment or poly in the mains string!

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  6 місяців тому

      The Ultra Pro definitely is a good comparison to this! I forgot that it existed since I don't see it that often

    • @Kenzie_Hill
      @Kenzie_Hill 6 місяців тому

      Please elaborate on stiffness...
      What is the possible range?
      What range is ideal for the string type?
      Will a mix of strings affect stiffer feel (cross vs mains)?
      What similar rackets have more or less stiffness?
      How does stiffness rating affect arm pain?
      Does stiffness affect spin?
      Need numbers!
      Brody did a great job explaining the PS 97 v14 ❤
      I love my Pro Staff 97 v13 and am looking forward to getting a Wilson Shift racket this year!

    How different is it from the Blade V9 98? I know it sounds like a silly question , but with the new generation , I don’t really see many differences other than being heavier ..Precision and Control some would say but I don’t see the difference..

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  6 місяців тому +1

      I totally know where you are coming from. When I first started learning about racquets I had the exact same questions. Since the Pro Staff 97 mentioned in the video is a 97 head size, it technically has more control/smaller sweetspot than the Blade 98 V9. The weight as well does play a factor with the Pro Staff 97 is heavier than the Blade so it will be a bit harder for some people to use if they are not accustomed to that much weight in a racquet.
      The other big thing is that the Pro Staff racquet is going to be stiffer/ not as easy on the arm compared to the Blade. That is mainly what is going to give it the different feeling when you hit the ball even though a lot of the technology used in both the Pro Staff 97 and the Blade 98 V9 is similar if not the same.

    The reason why newbies who have only played the sport for a few years want to escape to a light racket.... I'm sorry to say... is because they want instant gratification. I have coached a lot of people and rarely have i come across a personality that wants to do it right. If you play with a heavier racket (just a tad heavier than a racket that you find normal for you) it will TELL you if you are swinging wrong. Then you can go back to swinging passively and letting the weight do the work and then it SHOWS you the correct mechanics. Tennis elbow is from bad technique ALMOST ALL THE TIME and it takes chronic exposure to bad technique before it sets on. It's not as instant as you think. If you hurt yourself from the first time you touch a slightly heavier racket.... im sorry but you are REALLY lacking in technique... learn to walk before you run. Do it right. and enjoy the process of doing it right. Be that person who grinds away and obsesses over just one shot technique at a time and would rather hit only an excellent forehand... than the guy who dinks and donks every shot and tries to claim he is an all rounded player. People always want to fast track everything and live in their own pretend world. WHY?.... when you can do it right and gain respect for doing it right.

      I love the mentality you have of making sure that players take the time to learn correct form/fundamentals before trying to go and do every single thing all at once. If we can master the basics, then we can begin to use nearly every single piece of equipment to the best of it's abilities as well as making sure that we are helping to prevent ourselves from injury.
