- #LSTractor #Snowpusher January 23rd, First time using the LS MT573 Tractor with the HLA2500 Snow Pusher. Also, the homemade White Oak Back Drag 😉. The LS Tractor was $51,000 and the Beet Juice for the tires and HLA2500 Snow Pusher came to $55,000.
A little different style video than normal. There wasn't a lot of content out there on this LS MT573 tractor. I certainly became for comfortable as I ran through the different gears.

Awesome shots, Tractor, and you did great!
I had some help with the title! 😉
I think you've helped me make my decision on the MT573. Thanks.
I don't think you'll regret it. The next step down did not have as nice of a seat.
Was the video too long?
Just found your channel. Watched the new tractor selection process and delivery videos first. I just got an HLA this year after using just the bucket and skid runners for the last 3 years. It’s an awesome piece of equipment. I pair it with a rear blade and move snow going forward and backwards, which saves a ton of time. Angle the blade back so it doesn’t have as much bite to save your surface. Another thing that saves time is that with a pusher, you don’t have to tilt your “bucket” or shake it at the end of a run, since it’s bottomless :) I bet I cut my snow moving time in half. Don’t tell the wife, but I started moving snow for the neighbors to get my tractor time in ;)
You definitely got better as time went on. Love the way the back drag works , Great Idea..
Man that looks like a lot of fun! That's a big lot to plow!!!
Good video and job. Tractor did really well if it has a left and right brake pedal you can turn tractor with the brakes. Take care, be safe and well.
I bought a ls xr4155 tractor
One of the best item I added to my tractor was a wireless backup camera
Saves alot of head turning plus you can see your implements while you're going forward
That's a great idea. Do you know what one you purchased?
Awesome video, we've got snow coming tonight my LS is fueled up and ready to get it done tomorrow
If you watched the whole thing.... I'm impressed. Next time a make a video like this there will be a giveaway.... a clever one. For the true Mapleheads!
back drag one an half tractor length then turn around an push snow . in deep snow back in an push out fiest.
That's a great idea.
Yes. Back drag as little as possible and make sure cylinders aren't extended too much when back dragging. Back dragging will bend the cylinders.
Looks comfy in that LS cab. It did a great job clearing the Sugarworks lot. I can relate to the hour commute. I do it daily and it sucks. Haha
Case, It makes what we do that much harder....
Hey Case!
@@bioniclife Hey Kevin
I've watched quite a few videos of these Korean tractors(which is basically 75% of these size tractors and lower) and it's important to take a wrench about every 2 weeks and check the bolts and nuts. Especially the wheel lug nuts. I grew up with row crop tractors which were probably double the hp of yours and while I don't remember us checking the bolts and nuts, I'm sure we did seasonally. We had IH, then Case and then Case IH. Our combine was Gleaner and then John Deere. Cotton pickers were IH. The profile pic is a tractor from the 60's that my dad used when he started out. It's a 40 horse. We tripled up after that one.
That is really good advice.
Just found your channel this morning. Thank you for sharing your tractor selection process and such. Getting ready to purchase 31 acres in Pa near Slippery Rock that is currently ag field plus I already have 19 acres of timber. My aunt’s side of the family farms roughly 800 acres now as well. So I’m looking for a 75 horse myself for bush hog, snow, gravel access road upkeep, hay work and potentially starting a bush hog business as well in Va and Pa depending on how my retirement job goes this coming hurricane season.
I really enjoyed your perspective on your dealer and establishing that “down home” connection. I too would much rather buy local and be able to know I have local support for parts and such.
I’ve owned a small JD tractor since 2006 and when I’ve needed it - it’s paid for itself many times over thru the years. I’d love to say it could work a combined 50 acres but it just couldn’t handle the size implements and attachments that I’ll be needing.
Cheers and great job on your channel.
I live in Mercer County, not too far from you. Feel free to come out and check out the tractor. It is at our farm in Ashtabula County. I'll show you what I know. No one ever said, "man, I wish I had less horsepower."
Love the video Nate, drone would be awesome I agree. Ken from Michigan ( the guy with the " sap house " lol )
Ken! It was great meeting you this weekend. Thanks for watching!
Love my HLA pusher
Hey!!!! I figured a John Deere man like yourself... would only let John Deere attachments touch his John Deere...
@@BissellMapleFarm nope but it is green
Well good morning to you sir! That was a pleasant surprise.
You did come through and got some video footage from inside the cabin. Whohooo!
-20c (-4F) here in my corner of the world, Doesn't seem so bad in Fahrenheit.
I can definitely see myself in a heated cabin without the heavy winter coat and mittens. Sounds pretty quiet too. I guess you don't hear the reverse beeping after a while. Lighting around the tractor seems good.
I ordered the MT5 in November and was told that they would only get them in April or May. I got a phone call from the dealer yesterday that my tractor will be delivered to them probably sometime next week. Yayyy!😀
Thanks again Nate for the video footage,
Richard
You will love it! I am getting used to everything. A lot of levers, gears and buttons. It is very quiet in the cab. Comfortable. No coat needed! Did you get R14 or R1 tires?
@@BissellMapleFarm I did not expect such a quick reply. Kind of new to this whole social media stuff. Dunno about the tires. I was suggested these weird hybrid tires. Apparently for less compaction in the fields. Might just be a sales pitch but they look pretty cool and the people at that dealer have never let me down.😉
@@retired_raspberry yup! Sitting here drinking my coffee at the diner replying to comments.
Mike Morgan said he liked his R-14's in a recent video. I might have missed an opportunity by not going with the hybrid tires. But I probably would have had to wait a long time... Live and learn.
@@BissellMapleFarm Thanks for the info. I'll will chime in once in a while. Just finished my coffee. I'm motivated to clean the garage today in preparation for the tractor. 😅
Have a good one.
One of the things I think about when plowing isn't just where I'm gonna put the snow in pushing right now, but how does what I'm.doing going to affect where I can put snow in the future. Am I painting my self into a corner? I try to consolidate stuff as much as I can so I have someplace to put the next snowfall and the ones after that. Moving fresh snow is easy, once it's piled and frozen, it sucks to try and move.
I want to see you plow my driveway with that lol...
For under 50 you can get a RK 74
Do you mean like the tractor in the video you just commented on?
For your home drive you can order a rubber cutting edge .safea the driveway.it works very well. Look into it
You may like the idea
I do! The rubber is a good choice. I will probably put a metal backer on it.
use your left and right brakes to steer when the front is lite.
Ha! I didn't learn that until I started plowing and discing!
Did you consider R14 tires?
We’re looking at one for or Snowmobile/ATV Club and believe the R14s would give us better snow traction and resist road wear better.
I didn't know about R14 tires at the time. I would have considered the R14's had I known about them. I don't know the premium upgrade cost for the R14's. I'm interested in knowing that cost.
I am satisfied with the R1 tires. If the R14 gives better weight distribution to the front tires - I would go with the R14. The tractor can lift more weight than I think the R1's can handle.
Drone would be cool
That would be cool! Come on Nate, get yourself a drone. LOL
I expect my MT5 to arrive within a few weeks and that is a good idea. I really enjoyed Nate's video when he received his. I'm going to try that out, weather permitting of course.
Drones are cool. If your monetizing the videos, you'll need a drone pilot's license or the FAA will fine you.
How do those loader controls feel compared to your dad's mx5100?
The KUBOTA mx5100? Haha! The same.... Except it has a self leveling bucket. I can tell that needs adjust a little.
I need to jump in that thing and try it out sometime.
@@bioniclife any time, Kev.
I bet a large rear blade would be perfect. That way you can wind row going both directions and then collect a consolidated wind row with the pusher. You would be over twice as efficient and it would be done twice as fast.
Kind of like an offset pull-behind mower behind a lawn mower? I remember seeing those 8hp pull behinds in Northern Tool thinking, "that would be like a 96" cut!"
@@BissellMapleFarm literally a 3pt rear blade with hydraulic angling. They are everywhere. I bet your tractor even came with rear remotes standard. I use a rear blade and a pusher and that’s what I do. That way I’m not wasting time and fuel only “doing work” in one direction. I also find that less snow spills out of the snow pusher if it’s wind rowed and I attack it with the center of the pusher. Everything Attachments has an excellent value in a hydraulic rear blade on their website.
@@careyfrennier347 I love this advice so much. You have no idea.
@@BissellMapleFarm You’re welcome! Just make sure it’s hydraulic because you will change the angle every time you change direction. It works great for me. For really deep stuff I have a 3pt snow blower that also works great. Just very slow compared to a pusher and rear blade.
@@careyfrennier347 Carey, how did you find us?
Are those chevron pattern tires pushing good for you?
Doesn't even need 4wd.... yet!
@@BissellMapleFarm perfect!
What that white stuff you're pushing around. I wouldn't know anything about it. Haven't seen a good amount of it since November!
Listen, there's an opportunity in the U.P.... I think you would love it.
Hear me out, flame thrower on the front, salt spreader on the back.
Is there a float feature on the loader? On mine just push the joystick forward when the bucket is on the ground until it clicks have to do it in a fast motion. But that let’s the bucket or snow pusher right right on top of the pavement no problem
Yes. Push all the way forward and it floats.
I just bought my MT357 - where do I find the torque specs?
I just Googled MT357 and found them.
Compression: 17:1 Rated RPM: 2600 Torque: 138.7 lb-ft 188.1 Nm Torque RPM: 1600
Source: agro-specs.com/tractors/10270-ls-mt357.html#hmenu-2
Why wouldn't you clear the snow off of the tractor, especially where it would give you better visibility like the hood?
I don't know... excited to drive it, I guess. I did melt off pretty quick.
😁
@@BissellMapleFarm 👍
Video is a bit long, consider speeding up some of the footage and add voice over.
We bought the same tractor last fall for snow removal and love it
It was an experiment. But you are probably right. Although some people find it therapeutic. It was my first time with the LS. I wanted to take everyone with me.
By the way, just got our BisslleMaple syrup! Fantastic maple syrup, will be ordering more
By the time you got done plowing snow I was looking for something very dull to slit my wrists
That is awesome! Are you the one?!?!?
Plow it before it melts!!
That's funny!
Would of been better to get something that can angle the blade.. you have to chase your tail around the whole time your plowing? Seems time consuming and ankoying
You aren't wrong.... Well, there is a learning curve for the operator. It was my first time using the tractor and snow pusher. I've plowed with an F550 7.3L diesel with a Meyers Snowplow. That's all about the angle and flowing the snow. A little different with a tractor and snow pusher.
@@BissellMapleFarm yeah, the most practice in the world won’t clean up your tails your making. That’s the bad part snowplowing with a bucket or something that doesn’t angle sadly.
@@xGR1MxREAPERx it's OK. My customer is a pretty good dude. He doesn't mind.
