I must confess I wished they'd stick with gospel music. .these ladies Truly are the best singing group all around.. even after 40 years... vocally the best.. each lady can sing
When this song came out, I bought the 45 and played it so much I wore the damn grooves out. The Pointer sisters have great voices, no doubt, but there's something about this beat and the instrumentals that literally gave me goose bumps! Hearing it now, 23 years later, it still has the same effect.
That was an absolutely BREATHTAKING performance... that is live singing at it's very finest... despite not perfect audio, in my mind, this is their best live performance ever... thanks for posting...
Evidently you never attended a live show with the Pointer Sisters, 'cause that would surely change your mind 4ever. These women sing like no one does today. Just listen to all these so called pop stars- uuhh!!
In my opinion, two things make The Pointer Sistes one of the most fabulous acts of all time: firstly, the variety of music that they have performed, always succesfully, from gospel to disco, an unbelievable achievement. Secondly, the amazing vocal abilities of each girl, whether it was lead, or backing. This live performance is a proof of what I mean. Thanks for uploading.
Great comment! I have to agree with almost everything you said! Who these days can match their performance, talent, live sound quality, and stage presence?
LOL their "Baby Come and Get It" clothes! Yes, but those outfits were really part of their tour costumes in '85. They also happened to use them for the "Baby Come and Get It" video.
Omg just found out June Pointer passed away in 2006; so many classy vocalists who did not need to flaunt sexual slackness that most female artists do today in rnb; June was a class act, along with Donna Summers
You know I Loved to see the Pointer Sister Perform on TV and I saw them once in 1974 with Bonnie, Ruth and Anita they were great. I saw June, Ruth and Anita in 1999 in Dallas, TX it was a Great Show with A Big Band that did 1940's music and Disco along with several circus acts and Average White Band(AWB). Ruth and Anita looked and sound great, June sound great but we could all tell she was not taking care of herself. My heart just broke but it was a great great show, the Rap changed her life.
I remember the Music video to this song, the lead singer walks into a Gym flled with guys working out, and she taunts them to dare her,and after her training scene. She beats one of the guys in a boxing ring.
June Pointer struggled with crack for many years due to the trama of being raped at 15 in 1968 by an unknown Black young man who was never caught. The man snatched her on way from a Malt shop. June died from Breast Cancer in 2006.
The BEST girl group of all time. What voices . So underrated.
A very lovely song 😍
I swear I can watch these women ALL DAY if there were no other girl groups available! SERIOUSLY!
I must confess I wished they'd stick with gospel music. .these ladies Truly are the best singing group all around.. even after 40 years... vocally the best.. each lady can sing
just when I thought the performance couldn't get any better, there's this high note and then boy George is popping up out of nowhere!! great stuff!

It's the rhythm & beat & with the enhancement of June's fabulous voice....Perfect!

Love these chicks! no one touches them vocally. Miss ya June.
I wish someone would post the video. Fantastic song!!! What am I saying? Everything by the Pointer Sisters is freaking amazing!

their harmonies are seriously on a different level.
Rip June, you are sorely missed...
Amazing performance. Dresses from the Baby Come and Get It video. Thanks for the video!
This is so good it sounds like a lip synched performance.

The microphones' wires are all over the place! :p
when i was a kid i tought june was a black laverne penny marshall she was the most talented of the 3 she was a belter r.i.p.
My favourite Pointer songs with June leading in order are: He's So Shy, then heart to heart, then gold mine/dare me.
Now this is a girl group. I wish they were more respected.
incredible

We used to call that 'throwing down vocally'
Did the BBC really broadcast the festival in the UK?.
I thought I was the only one who thought that! :-)
