I'm about a year in with the 37mm Petrol, and it has been a great watch to wear and enjoy. It sits flat on the wrist, it's lightweight, it's very comfortable, and the lume is actually very good. I can make adjustments to the bracelet in about 30 seconds when the temperature fluctuates (a frequent occurrence in Ohio), and the DUW-3001 is lovely to stare at when time allows. I also get a ton of compliments on the dial - as you said Britt, Nomos are masters of color! So cool to hear about your enriching trip to Glashutte and just how much these folks love the art of watchmaking 🙌

I have always found Nomos so minimalistic, and so I never found them to be worth the price point. These Nomos Club Sport watches, with their beautiful sunburst dial, certainly breaks the mold. This is a Nomos that I would consider buying. My only issue with it is the painted markers. To get that premium feel, and to justify that premium price, applied markers just seem more fitting. And unsubscribed most of them so that I can appreciate the remaining really good ones even more in the future. Both Nomos AND you show that there is still that pioneering youtube experience out there to be had. It has just become so incredibly obscured that one loses one´s spirit once in a while... I have the means to buy a Rolex but unlike my sister who just dropped $15k on one for the name I don’t need to brag to the world that I am successful, I just cannot see ever spending $15k on a watch when there are so many fantastic watches put there like these or others for a fraction of the cost.

I own the 37mm version, and there is nothing subpar about the wearing experience of the bracelet. This watch is every bit as comfortable as a DateJust. Certainly a "glide lock" style micro-adjust system would be an upgrade, but I can't think of other brands at our below this price point offering on-the-fly adjustment - Tudor now has the T-Fit, but their prices have risen a bit higher than Nomos. The clasp is also definitely milled, although I agree scratches show easily on its polished surface. I just wanted to address those points, as I see overall you are praising Nomos which they absolutely deserve. As far as the lugs, that is part of their design language and is easily accounted for by going with a smaller case size.

I can't share your enthusiasm on Nomos. The community has been criticizing the long watch lugs for a long time. Despite the company spokesperson's statements like "we continue to observe this and always keep our customers' wishes in mind," nothing seems to change. I personally believe that textile straps, for example on the Ahoi models, have no place on a watch that costs more than €3000.
Regarding your last point, I think that political statements have no place in corporate communication. In the ongoing cultural battle, companies like Gillette, Disney, Target, or Budweiser felt the immediate backlash in sales after adopting a woke strategy. For instance, if the new model CLUB SPORT NEOMATIK 39 in TABAC, EMBER, and SMOKE is only showcased on a dark-skinned model, it's challenging for me to imagine how it would look on my arm. My suggestion would be to present the watches with models of various skin tones.

I love Nomos, Farer, Vario, etc because they are watch companies that make accessable watches that move the horology needle through design and innovation. They do it quitely like the Trinity + 2.

I'd like to see Nomos do more with the Tangente Duo series. Sternglas, Nordgreen, and others all play in that Bauhaus sandbox. Just give me two hands, no complications, and some fun colors like on the Club Campus.

A very nice watch. If Oris releases a smooth-bezeled dressy sports watch with Calibre 400 movement, though, Nomos might be in trouble...

I (along with 135.000 subscribers I bet), find you are adorable, Britt. You exude humbleness, competence, strong beliefs, love for your husband. you seem a caring person. never stop being the way you are. It is inspiring. and, by the way, I have a soft spot for Nomos, too! all the best to you and your family (cat included).

I have always taken that long lugged aesthetic to be a strong reflection of Bauhaus design language.
I can wear a watch with that kind of lug to lug distance, though visually, on a strap they tend to look a bit gangly to my taste. The integrated bracelet tones that look down for me.
I very much respect whet Nomos offers, but they’ve never offered anything that really spoke to me for one reason or another, this is a step in the right direction. Nice review.

    - I like the watch but wish it had all brushed bracelet and clasp like an OP. I like how thin it is despite the see thru case back. Yes, I wish the lugs were shorter . I think it’s a lot of watch for the money.

Britt you really need to try out the NOMOS Orion 35mm Pure class and is a true unisex sized watch, I think you will really really love this watch, I picked mine up years ago when Nomos was considerable more affordable. I think I paid around $900 Canadian for an excellent used one. 😊 One last thing never ever stop doing your Patrons singing at the end, it always puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh. ❤

So interesting what you said about “falling out of love with the industry” it seems you, Adrian (Bark &Jack) and Jenni Elle have recently been on similar paths of disillusionment. Is it because of the upper class aesthetic? The fact watches are now so unobtainable? or a mixture or the two? I love learning and I think that’s why I’ve been on this watch binge since 2018. However I get what you mean to an extent. I don’t know if this hobby was more mainstream and accessible it would be more fun but you just got me thinking.

I love their philosophy and what they are about as well.
YT indeed makes you feel shitty not just buying Rolex and how they don't lose their value. Which has gotten to me after a while as well. Even though only 1 of their watches evokes a good feeling for me. It makes it harder to just enjoy the ones that make you feel happy.
