Perfect timing I bought one yesterday at HF after reviewing all the local offers and those on Amazon . It listed for $49 and was on sale $39 plus the free flashlight. I was very impressed with the mount as it was very heavy and solid. started measuring and locating studs and found the need to be on 16" center. Bummer where she wanted it was not going to work but another wall would work fine. So put it off till this morning and looking at a quick easy install. I agree with you on the lag screws being too long so making a trip to Lowes to pick up some hardware.
Thanks for doing this Video it has greatly improve my confidence in getting this done right.
I used one stud and the two center holes on wall mount(2 lag bolts). I didn't drill pilot holes either as I think my drill is packed away somewhere, Just screwed the lag bolts in with a socket set. Then I used 4 wall anchors and screws on the corners just to keep it straight. It's solid and holding a 65" tv. I live in an apartment and didn't want to put to many holes in the wall. This is the second time I used it. I had it in another apartment with a 43" tv installed the same way, no problem. When I moved I just spackled over the holes.
Thanks for this. I picked this same one up the other day and a smaller one for my 32 inch in the kitchen. No, I'm not obsessed with tvs. My mom passed away and it's her tv. So I figured it might as well get some use. Also, I did take your lag bolt comments and went out and found the same ones at my local home depot. Picked up 4 with washers and will be mounting my 49 inch tcl in the next few days. Cheers.
Hi Mark, glad this video could help a little. I still think its the best bracket for the money. Sorry to hear of your loss and glad you can keep the putting the TV to use.
Thanks for the review. Most of us like to know what harbor freight purchases are junk and which are great buys. Looks like this one might be a great buy. These types of reviews really help out the UA-cam community.
What kind of TV wall mount do you like? Full motion or tilting mount?
I personally like a full motion.
Thanks for posting, very helpful ✌🏾
Thanks for showing how you specifically mapped out where to drill the holes in the wall. I know it’s 101 stuff but I just needed to see it done!
Tony, thanks for commenting. I am glad I could help if only a little.
Would be helpful to show the actual steps of installing mount and putting TV up.
agree. one day i will get better with tripod-ing the camera so i can show everything. in this case i was not able to manage the TV lift and filming at the same time.
Best video i seen soo far!! Helped me put up my 50inch and looks great thank you!!. I did have hard time with putting on horizontal bar and plate on back of t.v but overall great vid!
thanks for the kind comment. glad it helped!
Beautiful home! And nice tutorial
I used this mount with a older, heavy Samsung plasma. My guess around 80 pounds. Worked out great. No sagging. Would highly recommend it.
I just looked up the weight for the Samsung in my above post. 95.6 pounds. My guess was a little on the light side. That my have been with the stand, not used with a wall mount.

How long has your 95 lb TV been mounted on the HF mount? Any issues? I'm looking to install a similar TV on this mount.
@@izzysaysno-8524 no problems everything seems to be fine. I do have to say that I don't move it that often, it's been in pretty much the same position since I installed it.
@@chuckroast5735 Thank you for the reply and the information.
On the fence about this one. This vid put me over. Going to go pick it up now. Thank you great vid
I think you will like it. It has served me well.
Thank you, very helpful!
Thanks alot brotha! Great job!
Grateful for this / THANKS !!
thank you for posting this video, it was of great help to me and made the work much easier!
glad to help and thanks for watching!
Good video i buy one today BUT wish you showed how you mounted on the wall mount on your video so we all could see how put the tv on that one screw. If you got two people or three to mount it.
Just bought a new tv yesterday, but after taking my old tv off the mount, I’ve run into a big problem. The screw holes to the tv are off from the mount’s tv plate. The only way I could have the plate aligned right with the screw hole to the tv is if I reinstalled the tv plate sideways. But I can’t do that because of the post holes of the tv plate. Any solutions to this problem? Or any suggestions of wall mounts with tv plates that works with this mount?
Informative review. Thanks, bought one the next day, for new 55", and I installed by myself with no problem.
thanks for commenting and sharing your experience!
My husband put the the long braces that attach to the TV in the wrong spot I think. Part 20 is where 21 should be. Should we take our TV and fix it. I am concerned because if you jiggle it a bit it can be a bit wobbly when pull away from wall a bit.
well done
Good video.
I was actually worried about using those huge bolts on the studs plus I didn’t have a long enough bit to make the hole. This was very helpful thank you!
thanks for the kind words. glad i can help even a little. i have learned so much from others on YT and hope to give back even a fraction of what i've learned from others.
The lag bolts don’t penetrate the full length as they have the bracket thickness as a stand-off and go through 1/2” (usually) drywall then the 2x4 stud is 3.5” deep on edge. Also, the round things that go onto the various machine “bolts” are called “nuts”. Just trying to help.
P.S. I stripped the two bolts(over tightened) That hold the tilt of the tv. I managed to get one to tighten past the point I stripped it by removing the washers, and used another bolt on the other side but it has a phillips on one side and a pain to tighten. These bolts have a square under the head that fits in a square hole so you can tighten from one side. They are about an inch long. Anyone know where I can get replacement bolts? These are on the mount and not part of the parts list. Thanks
Awesome
Yeah now I get settled down to see your video after I drilled the over long holes UUgh! It’s the brackets on TV that do not seem to figure on my 50” Hisense
BUT YEAH You don’t need those 3 1/2 “ bolts.
Great video
Thanks!
Question. I just put up my 75 inch Samsung using this wall mount. The angle control in the back for mine is loose, like it just goes downward base on the weight of the TV it seems. Is it suppose to do that because my tv can only tilt down it can’t be straight forward up. Can anyone help me with this issue?
The black bolts are for masonry. The kit has bolts for wood
Has anyone tried to put an 82 inch tv that weighs 105 pounds and is vesa 600/400? says up to 80 but my tv meets everything
How many inches is the full extension ???
Anyone concerned that there is in essence one small nut and bolt supporting the entire weight of the TV? The top bolt you hang the TV on when installing. I just finished this installation and I would like to add another couple of bolts to that bracket on the top. There are two more bolts nuts on the bottom of the bracket but those aren't supporting the weight when the TV is leaning downward.
fja0568 yes you are right, there is a lot riding on a single nut. A backup would be nice. It has been 5 weeks and it is holding strong though...still happy with it.
My concern as well.
Correction bud, those are 5/16” lag bolts not 5/8”. 5/8” lag bolts are over a half inch thick and would obliterate your studs. Good video.
thanks for the correction!

Does anyone know how I can order parts for this mount?
Are you sure those aren't 3/8 inch lag bolts? I checked at 3 stores and could not find 5/8 inch but I could find 3/8 and what you are showing looks like 3/8 inch lag bolts.
You might be right. 3/8 will work too.
Did you use any kind of drill to torque for your screws? Or was it all just hand tight ?
i just made it hand tight. its sill holding up.
@@danr97123 ok got it, and thank you for that install video, was very helpful..
Are u getting any sagging? I want to get this mount for my 75” TV but I’m afraid of sagging. Great vid 👍🏽
No sagging so far. I have a ~45lb TV on it and its going strong. If i have any issues, I will absolutely add a comment here on the video.
It's rated at 130 lbs. If properly installed, you should be able to hang your weight from it without causing it to sag.
I got this for my 75 inch and it’s sagging. Sucks
We needed help doing the bracket you said it took finesse but didn't show it 🤔
Does the tv mount move easy or is it hard to move around?
it is very easy to move around
but I did not understand anything your video can you explain more please
How much range of motion does it have? I have a 55in Samsung that I am going to mount on a wall that I have to fully extend and turn sideways.
it has an excellent range of motion when fully extended. the less extended it is, the less motion.
Hi! I have a problem... My TV is mounted with the harbor freight Mount, but I'm not able to hook up my DVD player. The middle bracket is covering my red white and yellow ports for the DVD player. How do you fix that without having to take it all down
How's this been holding up for you?
I have had it for over 1 year now and its holding up very well. no issues.
@@danr97123 awesome and thanks for the reply on an older video! It's on sale for $38 so I think I'll pick it up today!
What is the recommended height from the floor ?
Eye level ~42 inches to the center is a good start
Those are 5/16 lag bolts hopefully your tv doesn’t sag lol
so far so good. i'm 6 months into it and its holding strong.
