      @@the-dark-side. That's the impression I get too based on what various devs snd VAs have said here and there. Not knowing what that looks like though, it's easy to wonder or worry, but it's true, no matter we what happens to Solas in DAV his fate is probably tied to our choices.
      And me too, for the choice if it is up to Rook in the end. It could also be up to the Inquisitor.

  • @BelieveIt1051
    @BelieveIt1051 Місяць тому

    I get the impression that Solas' ritual would have failed regardless of Rook. I mean, his ritual was putting out so much chaotic magic that it was causing boulders to fall and smash the wooden scaffolding away. And it was the wooden support beams that were holding up the statues anyway. So the statues likely would have toppled eventually. But what I do know for sure is that Rook wasn't needed for this. It easily could have been our one-armed (ex-)Inquisitor involved in the plot here either talking Solas down or interrupting his ritual.
    As I wrote elsewhere, Solas is technically a companion if he's in Rook's mind. But I doubt they'll pull an Anders and make Solas bisexual like all the other party companions are said to be.
    I don't know. Him being trapped seems like BioWare simply removing an OP character from the story just so we can have one. Also so we can use Solas' eluvian network. I would have much rather had Solas foiled by the (ex-)Inquisitor and Rook, have him launch his plan to tear down the veil, have that fail anyway, weaken him, and then all the evanuris get released and wipe out his generals, agents, and troops. Then it's up to us to either kill him or spare him, and then if spared, recruit him or lock him away.
    I have questions about the Lighthouse. How is it in the Fade? The Fade does not have a constant structure, at least not without spirits to keep it in that form. And how are the characters in the Fade without the anchor? Have the rules of the Fade been rewritten now? And how did we get transported there?
    Well, a lighthouse is meant to assist ships and warn them away from rocky waters. It's so they don't crash into the shoreline. I think I would have preferred Isabela's ship as our home base, and that way it could change locations and we'd get a different view depending on where in Thedas we were. The ship could have easily been customizable as well. The only thing is Solas would not have been able to paint it, which is fine by me, since that should remain Inquisition's thing with Skyhold. But it appears Solas will be painting the Lighthouse to reflect our Rook's adventure as well.
    The ones hailing the evanuris could still be the Avvar, but they could also be the Promisers or the Empty Ones.
    I think those are just raindrops on Solas' face.
    If Solas becomes tainted, then maybe this would give more reason for the Hero to return with the cure.
    Was it just those two being moved? Or had Solas already moved the others by the time Rook and company got there?
    I always had the suspicion that BioWare was saying the old gods were the evanuris because of how they whittled the evanuris from nine two to seven, but I didn't want that to be the case, since doing so would have reduced the total number of antagonists for us to interact with and fight. But it looks like BioWare is going that route. Also it conflicts with the history of the old gods, who were said to have walked the world as dragons alongside humans until they were all sent to sleep deep underground all at the same time, presumably by the Maker. I guess that one's being tossed in the bin.
    The double blight never sounded interesting to me. Which archdemon would have command? And how would it really be any different from Origins? The darkspawn would still be commanded to attack the surface regardless. If anything the horde would be split into two halves, and thus possibly be easier to defeat.
    Understandable association. The constellation associated with Lusican is depicted by an owl, which is related to Falon'Din. And Razikale is the dragon of secrets, which Dirth'amen knew. And Dumat was said to be the most powerful old god and archdemon, so associating it with Elgar'nan is logical. I'm not sure why BioWare is switching them all around like this.
    Yeah Ghil's comparison is an example of retroactive continuity at its worst. We all know BioWare never intended that darkspawn construct to represent Elgar'nan, especially since the 5th Blight featured Urthemiel not Dumat or Lusican, and if the evanuris theory is true, Urthemiel would have likely been linked with June. What happened was BioWare designed that construct to make it look like wings on the statue's back, and a bull skull on the head to look like a dragon. The darkspawn were just making the statue look like Urthemiel. But then BioWare designed Elgar'nan in Veilguard to resemble that construct in Origins, as if there were a connection the whole time. No way. Not buying it. Makes no sense. Also, the darkspawn had no concept of who Maferath was or his betrayal of Andraste. The similarity to Elgar'nan's betrayal of Mythal is coincidence.
    If Andraste held Mythal, why would she talk about the Maker and convert people to that faith? Also, Flemeth claims Mythal came to her directly, not through someone else. So Mythal didn't need Andraste as a host. Plus Andraste wasn't even a mage.
    I'm not sure how the blade could have been inside the idol. Meredith had the idol fashioned into a greatsword. That sword broke and the energy petrified Meredith, who later produced the reformed idol in one of the short-stories. Wouldn't Solas simply reforge the idol into the blade he uses. And how did it lose its red lyrium properties? I'd like to know where the idol came from to begin with, and how it ended up in the Primeval Thaig. Seems to me it was just a MacGuffin BioWare made up so DA2 could have a plot, and now they're devising reason for it long after the fact, even going so far as to reform it from Meredith's husk.
    I think if anything we'd have to find Solas' wolf form, not a dragon.
    Nothing implies Solas is locked in the Black City. Just in the Fade.
    Varric is probably dead. I suspect killed by Elgar'nan, who put down the sun once before in his own legend. Varric is The Sun tarot if his quest is completed. One of the devs also referred to Varric in the past tense. But anything is possible. He could be finding other party companions.

      @@BelieveIt1051 Yeah, thatcwould have been onteresting to see play out.
      The Lighthouse, being Solas's lair, is probably anchored by his essence, and is half in the Fade if I recall. Aside from what the article revealed, that it shifts based on our general mood and such, I am uncertain how else it exists. It is said to not be fully functional anymore without Solas, as though its magic is dimmed so if we do recruit him, I expect it to light up like the Millennium Faldon when Han hits the consoles to get it to go to hyperspace. 😅
      Yeah, Isabela's ship would have been cool.
      I realised afterwards, it probably IS raindrops nut he still looks on the verge of tears, so I kept that in editing.
      It's a bit unclear. It imples it was just those two but remains unspecified as to why. So it could be the others were already moved, which negates the link as I initially thought it to be, or the others no longer pose a threat.
      Not necessarily. Remember how Flemeth could transform into a dragon? Perhaps the Evanuris, whatever else they could transform as, might have still walked the earth as dragons. Unless the link is different, like the dragons tethering them to keep them alive or thekr high keepers having that power. If my theory is wrong but a link still exists, I would rather the Old Gods, then, be the Forgotten Ones.
      The double blight appeals to me most if it is the twins, because they would command together, coordinate differently than a lone archdemon and present something different than what we've seen before while holding that familiarity of what we've seen before.
      Yeah, I don't know why BioWare would do that either. It makes it less exciting, and less enticing. It makes me want my theory to be wrong so that something different that makes more sense be the case for the link. Unless, somehow, whichever Old God was destroyed has no bearing on the Evanuris in the prison? Something has to make sense for this lore link to be palpitating.
      Perhaps. I am uncertain how I feel about Elgar'nan being Maferath if that would be the case. It could be Elgar'nan dommunicated to Maferath, lerhaps Andraste was a host for Mythal, and then Maferath was inspired enough to mimic such a betrayal. Wlgar'nan qould then have been the mentor or spirit influencing and not Maferath himself. I would prefer that, as it would make more sense imo.
      If the Vints think Andraste was a mage, then there's got to be truth to it somewhere. But yeah, she might not have been a host at all. It is one of those "lesswr theories", meaning something I wouldn't mind that could excite me but that I am not attached to or as invested in as other theories.
      Agreed. I explored that theory because so many seem to believe it could be, bht the idol is an arm. If anything, it once belongued to a being before being severed from their body. It might have posed too great a risk to Solas to retrieve it. I think he needs it but it probably serves a different purpose for him.
      Solas wolf form makes the most sense, yes.
      True. So the deep vocie would be wolf form, not blighted, and then he can take on his body form again once freed. Or if he becomes a bit corrupted, once reconnected with his purpose. I suspect his true purpose is not tearing down the Veil but is linked to freeing the elves (But he believes it is through that act).
      Potentially. I do think if Varric dies. it will be much later in the game or at ,east after the first act, which is the act where we recruit all our companions.
      Hehe thanks. It does that when freshly washed, especially if I don't put oil in it, which I do as a natural conditioner from time to time. It was particularly voluminous that day. 😁

      This is what created the schism. Perhaps we may never know the truth about Andraste. I think Solas is physically in the lighthouse with us. That's what I could get from the article at least.
    Another thing, if you look at Belara's valasline, it's very different from all the others. Do you think there could be a 10th evanuris that isn't locked away? Hence the avar saying, "glory to the risen gods, they've come to deliver this world" meaning Solas and the other one? There's also no record on who defeated the first blight or who created the grey wardens and it's been confirmed that the evanuris are the archdemons. So in theory, could that 10th evanuris have been the one who created the grey wardens and killed the first archdemon? It's also known that an evanuris can take the essence of the old gods and still live. What if that 10th evanuris worked with Solas to put up the veil and the elves being angry as they were, wrote them out of their history or forgot them on purpose?
    What if the reason the architect from origins is working with a 10th evanuris to try to find peace? We all know Ghil'anain was the one who created the darkspawn and she was tasked with destroying them but she didn't. She instead banished them to the deep roads. What if she's the only one who can completely destroy them but she won't, making it someone else's responsibility to make peace with them? There are a lot of ways there could be evidence for a 10th evanuris between someone having to create the grey wardens, someone knowing the locations of the prisons, Belara's valasline. Just something to ponder

      He's supposed to be trapped in the Evanuris prison which is not where the Lighthouse is. And wasn't it said that Rook hears Solas in their head and that is the way they are able to communicate. No need for telepathy if he is there with everyone.

    • @DarthShadie
      @DarthShadie  Місяць тому

      Possibly.
      When I did my analysis of the comoanions tarot images, I speculated that Belara could be a worshipper if the Forgotten Ones since her vallaslin is more on the red side of things, and those who worshipped them had red vallaslin. It would be interesting if she did and if there were clues that they were nit as malevolent as the Evanuris had painted them out to be, see8ng as the Evanuris themselves are supposed to be benevolent but became anything but that.
      I wouldn't mind Solas being in the Lighthouse but he is in his prison right now and hence not in the Lighthouse, as xonfirmed by the article. Perhaps this can be a thing later though. I would actually enjoy that.
      If we can make peace with the darkspawn, do you think they would help us destroy Ghilan'nain? We don't have a darkspawn comlanion but darkspawn allies are not oit of the realk of possibility. It would create an interesting dynamic in my opinion.

Maybe it was each of their sanctums that they were connected to. Rook and Solas being now connected means that the lighthouse is both of their sanctums now. Another connection is that they were both at the same ritual site at the same time, so it's not far fetched that when rook can escape physically because after that, you're physically there and you're able to go to the physical world in a fade bubble. I love the theory that Solas is the maker because while it makes sense, there are still some holes in his story alone that I think will get cleared up. Solas in general has many translations one being light which can be symbolized as the sun which can also be interpreted as pride. I think andraste and flemeth are somehow connected by blood and carried Mythal through the years in some way.
      I think Solas could physically be in the lighthouse for that being his sanctuary and for the fact that solas and rook were in the same place at the same time when he got locked in the fade. We don't truly know what the prisons looked like other than they could possibly be the sanctuaries of the individual evanuris. I think during character creation, depending on what choices we can actually choose will depend on which inquisition playthrough I go with. And depending on how Solas interacts with Rook, I want to kind of segregate the different protagonists feelings. One inquisitor I have is hardened Templar who never trusted Solas and took what power he could during the events of inquisition, because he thought he had to to save the world. He said he would kill Solas, basically he's too dangerous to let live. My other inquisitor never wanted power and was a sly rogue who just wanted to do what was right and marry Casandra 🤣. He wants to save him, still seeing him as a friend who is misguided. Whichever ends up being the past for DAVe, I want my Rook to come to his own conclusions, no matter what the inquisitor wants. I would also appreciate having a nuanced option, not just punishing/making Solas suffer or accepting what he wants. I would love it if we could romance him if he hasn't fallen in love with Lavellan.
    I also have the impression that the Evanuris and the Old Gods of Tevinter are the same entities, and it's highly probable. Now, this would mean that the archdemons of previous Blights had the soul of an Evanuri? Are those who were defeated and killed by a Warden truly gone for good then?
    I wonder if Solas' initial plan was to change the Evanuris' prison and let the Veil disintegrate over time to merge the material and the immaterial...🤔

    Okay hear me out I’m like 90% sure that in trespasser Solas mentions that if he got the mark from his orb he would use it to enter the Fade and tear the veil down so maybe to tear it down he has to be in the Fare which is where he is rn so maybe he’s the final boss still but I could be completely wrong about this

      @DarthShadie  Місяць тому

      Ooooh. OR almost final boss, where we gotta destroy him or have him join us. I would LOVE to fight Solas, even if we side with him or he sides with us, to have a battle, just to let it all out, you know. And then be like, 'All right, great workout, Solas. We can take on Ghilan'nain and Elgar'nan together.' 😂

    There is literally a lore accurate version of fast travel, I'd be silly if they didn't utilize that.

    Some of my thoughts:
    - Not long ago i theorized that we only saw two of the Elven Gods, because the rest are locked elsewhere.
    - Is it possible that the Old Gods are something akin to the Dragon of Corypheus?
    - Will there be a mission where we fix Bianca? So Varric can fight by us for one last time?

      The Old Gods could potentially be akin to Cory's to the Evanuris. Imwouldn't mind that being a thing as the link to them.
      Fix8ng Bianca and them Varric joins us kater? I'd like that.

    My prediction for Solas’ ending: if you’re an anti, you can just leave him in Fade prison. 😂 if you don’t hate him: he can become a new kind of spirit like his friend. You can let him off Scott free with or without Romanced Lavellan, and maybe for more middle-ground people you can send him into exile, alone or a romanced Lavellan.

    What do people mean with "Solas is the Maker"?
    If they mean that Andrastians made things up to fit their religion then sure. If they mean that Solas is a all powerful Christian-like God that wanted Andraste as his bride and abandoned humans because of their sins, then I don't think that's going to happen. I don't believe we will ever get an straight answer to the nature of Maker because Bioware will be too afraid of being seen as anti-Christian.
    Personally I haven't believed in Maker's existence ever, to me it was clear that he is just a story. But my beliefs irl is contributing to that.

      @DarthShadie  Місяць тому

      @@DewelynC Yeah, we probably will never know. I look at it from the perspective that he created Thedas as it stands now, he is its creator. Beyond that, he is not the Maker of the Chant of Light as Andrasteans believe the Maker to be.
      My theory is that the Naker began as a spirit of creation or inspiration and got corrupted down the line and became Nightmare. 😅 (At least that's one theory I like to explore.)
