14000 is the minimum requirement per year for living costs as per the government website. But you also have to show funds for the tuition fees in addition to the living costs. It is advised that you show funds worth of 2 years of tuition fees.

If you do a bachelor’s degree which is generally a four year degree, you are eligible for the 3 year PGWP. If you complete a diploma which is only 2 years, you are eligible for a 2 year PGWP.

Congratulations, minimum amount as per the Canadian immigration website is $10000 for a single application per year for living costs plus one year tuition fees. But it is better if you can show living costs for one year plus tuition fees for two years due to current economic conditions in Sri Lanka.

You won’t be able to do a degree with just Cambridge ol results. You can come to study in a Canadian private high school and a parent accompany you as you would be a minor. But keep in mind that Canadian private schools are very expensive and the visa could be challenging

This is what is listed as the minimum amount required for living cost for a year as per the government of Canada immigration website. However, due to the economic situation in Sri Lanka it might be a good idea to show more funds when you apply for visas for your whole family. I have heard that it’s better if you can show two years courses fees plus living costs for a year.

Thanks. I would in most cases yes. Because you need a letter from that person, documents to show their financial commitments (mortgage payments etc.) , their income and some document to prove your relationship to them. Such as a birth certificate along with their birth certificate, marriage certificate, some connection.

You’d have to show his financial commitments such as income, mortgages, loans etc. also you need to show some documentation to prove your relationship. If it’s a friend it is a bit difficult to prove this point as you won’t have any documents to prove your relationship.

The amounts mentioned in this video is the minimum amount you need to show to cover your living costs per year. But in addition to that you need to show your tuition fee payment as well. Generally if you are coming for two years it’s better if you can show one year living costs and at least one and half year tuition fees.

You can potentially show funds using your mother’s sister’s support. However, I think that should not be your only source of financial support. In addition to a support letter, you would have to show your aunt’s financial commitments as well.

Normally masters degree is 2 years, so when we do show money we have show funds for entire 2 years ex : $10000 x 2 ? Or just $10000 for one year?
One year tuition fees plus one year living costs. $10000 is the minimum amount for living expenses for a single student per year.
Hi, when we come to follow the causes like non eligibal PGWP, do we can stay in Canada by doing another cause or can extend the visa in another way.
You can start another course that is eligible for a PGWP and continue to stay on a study permit. You can change your visa to a work permit or apply for PR through another pathway. There is a new immigration pilot that actually allows this and I am planning to do my next video on that.

In that case, if I am applying alone like you, what kinds of documents do I need to prepare to prove his financial support for my studies?
Thanks. You will need a letter from him expressing his support, proof of income for him, his financial records/ bank statements and deposits as such and his financial commitments (mortgage, loan payments) and you will also need some proof to show your relationship.

When v applied student visa, is it need to submit Original (sinhala)certificate along with the traslated..?
You need to submit the original offer letter or an electronic copy of that. Other documents you submit copies. They will ask for the original passport if your visa is approved.

Thanks! There is potential to get a job offer in Canada after completing a MBA (Thesis or course based). However, scope for funding for thesis based MBA student are very limited as it is considered a professional course. You can check out university Alberta, university of Calgary, for thesis based MBA programs.

I have done Master's degree in Sociology. I am now 48 years old. I was asked by an agent in Sri Lanka to study in Canada and they said that age affects it. Give an answer to that. If I can go, is it a good campus?
Well, age doesn’t really have an impact in gaining university admission. But it is definitely challenging to obtain a study permit when you have a big study gap. It’s difficult to justify why you’re leaving Sri Lanka to study in a foreign country. Therefore you would have to justify that during the visa process.
Akki do we need to submit the proof of English language proficiency document in the study permit process?
There is no such requirement. Although you will have to mention that in the SOP in support of your application.

What I explain in this video is the minimum amount of funds you must show as per the IRCC website. But due to foreign exchange restrictions in Sri Lankan you may have to show more funds and pay tuition fees for at least one semester before applying for the study permit

Thanks. Here I talk about the minimum amount of funds you are required to show as per what is stated by the IRCC. But given the current economic situation in Sri Lanka, you may need to show more funds. Generally it is a good idea to show funds enough for two years tuition fees and one year living costs, if you can.

Hi Akka will I be able to take my father as well on a visitor visa when I go on a study permit to Canada?
It depends. Sometimes he may be able to get a visitor visa to accompany you. But often times unless you are a minor a guardian or a parent is not required to be with you. So unless your dad can show family ties and all as proof that he will leave the country within a certain time, I’d say it would be risky apply for both your study permit and his visitor visa at the same time. Also you’d have to show more funds to support his visit.
