Are you trying to win an Oscar with that music?

Cougar Creek was originally an Alluvial fan. When the town of Canmore was developed, an artificial creek was built to capture the water coming down from the mountains. When there's lots of water coming down from the mountains it wants to spread out over the fan as it would normally but it's instead forced into a small artificial creek.

    Update:
Thanks to a night of back filling by almost every available dump truck in town the bridge and road area saved from blow out. HUGE THANKS to all those who have worked crazy hrs and to the excavator operators. From a resident just down stream.

Its weird to think that while some feel like their little world is being torn assunder, those up the valley are (although sympathetic to the flood victims) are enjoying a work reprieve and mini survival exercise on how to make coco puffs go the distance.
