One of the many things I like about Dreamcatcher is that they stick with their rock/metal vibe. That's what artists do.

I love that they don't fit neatly into any genre. They have an underlying rock sound, but they weave it through a million other genres. Also, this is catchy as hell. Like all of their comebacks, it won't leave my head.
You said they don't fit into any one genre but I think they fit perfectly into electropop/rock
Siyeon has upped her hypnosis game in this one, especially in the weird orange coat scenes. Honorable mention to Gahyeon. You're right about the subtitles. They tell way more with the video than they do the english translation.
odd eye is the 3rd installment of their dystopia series criticizing social media. you already saw the first two which addressed internet hate. odd eye addresses the falsehoods/misinformation on the internet which can cause people to view reality through a false 'odd eye'. utopia can't exist when it's cloaked in lies.
since dreamcatcher blends lots of genres together, all their songs are pretty distinct. you should check out 'deja vu' for something completely different or if you prefer a more straightforward hard rock song, try 'endless night'.

Glad you been enjoying their songs. Officially, odd eyes is about the beauty shown and seen by one eye and the other eye is the beauty within (something to that effect based on interview with one of the member when asked about it). One of the popular theory or interpretation is that it is a social commentary about the media and users of social media portray the perfect life with the latter putting up fake personas online where everything is perfect and beautiful (i.e. imagery of siting behind a mask, lyrics such as beautiful scenery, live it up, perfect mirage etc.). As part of a trilogy which their earlier MVs ("Scream" and "Boca") which deals with social media online hate comments , perhaps the need for such fake persona is to defend against the haters online or to reinforce their self worth. Also, the song points out that despite the beautiful front, deep down, , it is a lie and such people could be full of sorrow or suffering to keep up with such a facade to seek the necessary attention. Similarly, the need to seek such attention also attracts hater who will still hate you regardless of what you do. Hence, based on the same interview, the member did said that utopia can only be found from the beauty within, and not what is seen and shown outside etc.
IDK where did I found this but someone came up with this interpretation of the intro:
The "red drink" can be interpreted as her taking the "red pill", a cyberpunk trope made famous from the film "the matrix" and refers to "waking up to the truth" or "opening one's eye to the truth"

Hi, this is my first time here, this video pops up in my recommendation as it says 3 hours ago today, February 5th. 2021. I saw on the title about metal heads or something, and on the thumbnail, two guys, I was like, hmm, interesting, I think I should watch it, I just wanna say when you said you were reading the lyrics of their past songs, that's good to hear. But when you were watching this video, there was no English subtitles on their video, I was gonna comment before I finished watching this video but I don't want to be rude so I watched the video to the end. But when you mentioned about the plausible lie, you really did read the English subtitles lyrics. Their Dreamcatcher official channel I recommend to watch not 1thek even though 1thek mentioned about on their title, the official music video. Let's support the original one, the Dreamcatcher's channel. I live in asean country, so I don't know about you guys, I am used to watch the video with the lyrics at the same time. Maybe because I grew up watching Japanese anime with English subtitles, Korean dramas with English subtitles and Chinese drama with Malay subtitles, I even watched English (not England) speaking movies with English subtitles. because even I don't know what the hell were they saying without the subtitles. I might not be InSomnia, the Dreamcatcher's fandom name but oh well. Lastly, what happened to the English subtitles though? You guys read it, but did you guys uploaded the music video without the English subtitles. Kinda nice if your viewers can also know what they were singing. Since, it's hard to know if you don't know the language. That's all. Bye.

The last 3 albums have been about their journey from a dystopia full of hate and hurry up words to trying to find the utopia they want but when they get to the utopia they realise its not what they dreamt of. So this song is about coming to terms with what utopia really is

The beauty about Dreamcatcher is they produce something different with every release (or comeback) but manage to maintain that Dreamcatcher sound. I recommend DeJaVù. It’s a softer song comparably, but it pairs guitar with an orchestral mix that is just perfection especially paired with their vocals. It’s not a hard song but it’s a song that can be appreciated. I love it.

Thanks for supporting DC! One of the things I like about them is they do stay with a metal rock pop but they have so many sound layers. There’s the contrasting pop vocals with the dark lyrics, the metal guitars and heavy beats with violins and light sounds too. I can listen a dozen times and pick up something new. It’s great!

I think there is member(s) of the Dreamcatcher girl group do involve in the work of writing lyrics (and certain songs there is some member from the group compose songs and lyrics as well) and it's somehow speak out the shadows from their past career experiences. Basically their songs are so much relevant to their own real-life stories or what actually happens in the real-life society.

Much more use of a rock sound than their Dystopia series (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye), which incorporates other genres more, like EDM and synth. But as a warning, Fly High sounds a bit bright because of its role in their story. It's the prequel to their nightmare series. The song its bright to begin with, but the music video and instruments get darker and harder as the song goes on. Might not be for everyone due to the deliberate composition of the song to fit the story.
Also as others have said, this series is about online trolling/hateful comments people see online, so all the imagery you see in the video is about them being consumed by it. My interpretation was the odd eye is them tricking themselves to believe utopia could be found online (social media), while utopia must be found within yourself. No one else can give you utopia.
One thing I really enjoy from their is their harder sounds but complimented with powerful vocals. Depending on how much you like the choreography, you could always check out their dance practice videos in your spare time to see how much they have to move while singing.

Did you notice that there are 7 girls again? Handong wasn't with the group for the last two comebacks (Scream and Boca), but she is finally back.
For the storyline, there are multiple theories. The MVs prior to Scream are said to tell a story about nightmares, in which the newest 3 comebacks could belong (not confirmed though). There are many videos trying to analyze the story, some of them are pretty detailed.
As for other groups you might like: I recently discovered a KRock girl band (not group, but band. they don't "just" sing) named Rolling Quartz. They only have one single by now, but it sounds really awesome and might be a bit closer to your preferences in music. And you might want to check out the song Eclipse by Moonbyul from Mamamoo , it is more of a rap song with pretty dark lyrics and images.

So, their Dystopia trilogy is, narrowly, about hate and falsehood on the internet. Broadly, it's a condemnation of same in modern society. Art of kinds is what it says to you. Something about Dreamcatcher makes it possible to for their music to connect with currents going on in each of us. It may not be exactly what the songwriters or the girls are intending, but it happens all the same. That's true of all good music. Leez and Ollounder, the songwriter/producers, are responsible for a lot of this effect in Dreamcatcher's music. But the interpretation the girls bring to it, their charisma and charm, make it work. I love these girls and admire the creative team behind them. Songwriters, video producers, stylists, choreographer, .... all.
In addition to the "hear no evil / speak no evil /see no evil" theme, there's a bit floating around about timelines:
- Scream: Past/Medieval sort of timeline
- Boca: Current day
- Odd Eye: Future Dystopia, e.g. 100 years into future
Think of it as across hundreds of years they're speaking out against hate, but in the end they couldn't find the utopia (in society).
But actually - finding utopia comes from within - being happy, being genuine to people, not saying bad things to others etc..
