      It’s a lot easier than you think bro. Just watch 100 videos and you’re pretty much a professional 🤣 I wouldn’t try this with any motor other than Ls tho.

      I’m bout to pull my ls3 out my c6. I’ve never turned a wrench before owning the car yet I was very knowledgeable on the car before I bought it. It’s a pain in the ass to do it but with the right tools it’s really not that complicated.

      You just need a really good torque wrench 500$ torque wrench one that is dead on professional

    I am building my first swap. Ls3/6L80 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. My first swap, but not my first engine. My block is at the machine shop. I found an Ls3 block for stupid cheap. Otherwise I would prob be swapping in a 6.0 lol. N/A build. It's getting a sleeve in cyl 5 where the wrist pin nicked the cyl wall. Valve seat dropped on start up and shattered the piston. The wrist pin was still in the rod. They shut it off as soon as they started it and they heard the bang. New cam bearings, sleeve, deck and hone, and she should be ready to go back together. I really enjoy watching your videos. On the Ls3 mains is 2 thou good to set them at for mostly street but maybe some track use. Prob not much of the track tho.

    • @JacobVillemain
      @JacobVillemain  Рік тому +1

      Yes! I like to run .002” on the mains with an aluminum LS block for a nice N/A street setup.

    Quick question Jacob. If we have a 6.2 that has damage in one lifter bore, is it possible to have that lifter bore repaired in-house with Smeding, and get the block touched up and a stroker kit installed? Thanks for any advice.

    So what happens if the clearance is to big or to small. Order the next size up or down in bearing size?

    • @JacobVillemain
      @JacobVillemain  Рік тому +3

      Yes. If the clearance is to loose, try a set of .001” bearings. If the clearance is to tight, try a set of STD-X bearings. You can also mix and match a half set of .001’s with STD, or a set of STD with STD-X.

    All the engine literature says that rod ratio under 1.6 is bad. How come there are so many shops still building 416ci that have rod ratio 1.56 ? Is that extra 0.7L worth the having bad rod ratio?

    • @dailydrivenmuscle.
      @dailydrivenmuscle. Рік тому +2

      Ignore what you read. Everyone builds stroker...there no such thing as a bad ratio with 4inch stroke. Guys run 4.125 strokes with zero issues. What is your concern with the ratio you mentioned.

    • @JacobVillemain
      @JacobVillemain  Рік тому +2

      With modern machining accuracy I don’t see a need to degree cams on simple hydraulic roller LS combinations.

    • @noahdunaway
      @noahdunaway Рік тому +1

      @@JacobVillemain I agree with the modern quality of machined parts but I still don’t trust them enough to skip checking the cam, and it seems like most of the time my luck is bad and I would be the one to get a machining error.
