- We fish for rainbow and tiger trout at Panguitch Lake, where ice-off is literally going off. Adam Eakle shows you where and how to catch these beastly trout that are just waiting for you to come down and hook into to.
Original Air Date: 04/09/16
Wow you always catch big ones!! Love to watch!! Its almost like bein out fishing just watching!! Thx for sharing!!
Panguitch means 'Big Fish'. P.s. my grandparents own Cowboys Smokehouse in Panguitch, so fun to take a little drive out there to go fish after work.
My favorite lake in Utah! Looks like we missed Ice Out this year!
+Jason Huckeba When did the ice free this year?
Not sure! Wish we could have gone when they shot this video!
Personal preference, I like to release fish without touching them. Just a long nosed plier, slip he hook, let em go. When you grab a fish, especially with a glove, instead of a wetted hand, you take off some of it's mucous membrane, which is there for a reason. In my opinion, you don't want to do that, if you don't have to.
👍 increase that survival rate and catch and release for the next guy. That's what I do also.
When is ice out usually?
Sometime in April. Just depends on the weather.
The KSL Outdoors episode was filmed in March. They didn't give the date, however.
Huck Outdoors if you haven’t figured it out yet, 2 years later lol.. the ice just came off and it is ice off conditions.
These guys can't guess a fishes weight for crap.... The biggest fish was maybe 2.5 pounds... Seriously
They probably don't tell the truth about how big IT is either.
You would think with slot limits on Tiger and Cutthroat the Wildlife Biologist would no better than to use bait! I can NOT believe you would risk killing so many trout you would need to throw back.
Also not to lip a cutthroat trout 😂
Dead fish floating everywhere because of Power Bait dunkers.
Cant yank that hook out without killing the fish.
Need to ban bait on Panguitch lake. People are killing thousands of fish with Power Bait.
Like 1970... yikes...will leave Utah to itself to destroy their limited trout populations.
