Every makeup artist I know has been obsessed with this since it dropped. To be able to hear from Pat McGrath herself is really cool. I have seen several other artists recreating this and guessing at how it was created.
Yess, as a makeup artist myself I’ve been obsessed with it too and couldn’t wait to hear Pat explain it! I’ve been watching the recreations too and planning to make my own recreation soon!😊
Problem is she isn’t the first to do this as it’s been a thing in sfx make up for decades… yet a make up artist copies it and people lose their minds thinking it’s some brand new never done before thing… like where do you think she got the idea from.. especially as she is using skin illustrator products.
@@sazmullium i think thats a huge overreaction lol. ive absolutely heard people talking about similar looks/methods from the past. calm down, let people enjoy art.

This is just a runway look, it’s not an every day makeup look, it’s just like a piece of art basically, but not a wearable look. By the way, I am not the creator of this look, I only posted the video. The creator is makeup artist Pat McGrath. ☺️
This look is from the 1920’s, with 1990’s colours, lips from the 1800’s, good mixture of historical makeup…. Love the technique and the model is gorgeous
I *knew* it had to be an SFX gloss! I just got one from ProAiire for my own experiments a couple weeks ago! (fun fact, it also makes a bullet-proof eyebrow gel) I'm glad they talked about the powders underneath too. Pat is also a master at building HYPE! It will be so good to have an innovation in cosmetic effects available pre-mixed and tuned for this look. Thank you for uploading these clips!
That was my assumption as well. When I saw others trying to do this look with masks, I tried to explain that they should try either sfx gloss or something like a mac gloss in an airbrush
I would like to express my sincere gratitude and warmest thanks to you for having had the brilliant idea of sharing this exceptional Master class. Your initiative was truly a source of inspiration for all those who were lucky enough to take part 🌸
I just saw the post for this masterclass and recreation pics on Pat McGrath's IG and i was dying to understand when this happened and where , then decided to looked on UA-cam and here I am. I can't express enough how Grateful I feel for you for posting this 😮😢❤🙏 I'm a bridal mua that does editorial at home on free time lol. This is a GEM
It's perfect for editorial, fashion magazines and end certain films and tv series. Though worried about skins complication from using such make up techniques.
I know someone who used to make replicas of the mannequin heads that this look is based on. it's a neat design and an interesting take on the older doll trend. I've only seen a few artists do a gloss finish like that before.
Thank you so much for uploading this! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I live in Australia and it went live at like 7am on a Saturday and I’ve been struggling with migraines and sleeping like crap so I took a sleeping tablet and there’s was no hope for me to wake up before 11am 💋🩷💋

She didn’t demonstrate it, but she did mention that they clean the area with alcohol first, then build up the glue on top of the brows with a spatula, and then apply concealer over it.

And she did it on IG live for FREE where you have makeup influencers and beauty content creators charging an arm and leg for a master class Edit: grammar
Does anyone know how this look wears? I'm thinking about incorporating the 'glass skin' effect into a look I'm planning for a competition where my model will be walking around in a crowd and having photos taken. will it last or will it start peeling/creasing?
There may be but I don’t have it because I was just taking some videos to take notes for myself, and then after I thought maybe people would like to watch so I decided to combine my videos and post it 😅
Does anyone know what glue or type of glue was used as the prep to the airbrush layers? I asked in the livestream but didn't get an answer. Thanks for recording it and sharing. Our Roman Empire 😂
