@@verlongrimes0971 Yes, I get what he means, Captain Obvious. Criticize anyone and there will always be people who will be in camps and claim "hating". This is not unique to Michael. I grew up in Chicago watching Jordan play ... believe me, there has ALWAYS been criticism of him ... Sam Smith's "The Jordan Rules" is over 30 years old now and it was a NY Times Bestseller. You're not making any special or insightful point whatsoever.

@@LawrenceAugust_ It sure didn't sound like you got it the way you made it seem like Cowherd was saying something so untrue. With the exception of the book "The Jordan Rules," Jordan wasn't criticized by the sports media nowhere near to the degree Lebron has been throughout his career. Athletes in Jordan's day weren't covered by the media 24/7 like they are in this social media age. Lebron hasn't been involved in any off the court scandals and he's been as close as a pro athlete can get to being an ideal role model, yet he is still one of the most polarizing athletes ever in the modern era, and a big part of that has to do with fan(atic)s of Jordan feeling the need to diminish him once people started putting him in the greatest ever conversation because in their eyes no one dare not be compared to Jordan. Bob Costas admitted that Jordan was protected by the sports media because he was the cash cow for the league and helped to grow the game globally, so they weren't allowed to probe his every move and report on it like they do now with Lebron. I'm not trying break new ground on anything, Sherlock, I'm just pointing out the facts.

Which Michael Jordan record has LeBron "smashed" Colin? Is it his 10 scoring titles ? How about his highest scoring average in the regular season? His highest scoring average in the playoffs? His record high postseason score of 63 against the Celtics? The season where he won the Dunk contest, All Star game MVP, steals title, DPOY, scoring title and league MVP all in one season? How about his record of leading the league in win shares 9 times (tied with Kareem for most all time). His record 6 Finals MVPs? Which record is it?

Colin has crowned LeBron the G.O.A.T and over the last few years feels the need to dump on Jordan to elevate Bron. If Bron was undoubtedly the G.O.A.T you wouldn't have to do that.

The reason Jordan is hard to criticize is because he was once in a lifetime player that once he started winning, he didn't stop. He played with one all star his entire career and dominated his era. He can be criticize for punching Kerr and being a jerk to his teammates.
In my opinion the reason Colin rides so hard for LeBron is the same reason Draymond Green does as well. Mutual financial interests.

I guess I was brainwashed into thinking Jordan’s 63pts v 5 HoFers and being called God by Larry bird then averaging 37ppg the next season had a lot to do with the popularity of the shoes. Should we stop giving him credit for being the face and the unanimous best player on the greatest team ever assembled? Should we also downplay his gold in 1984 with the all-collegiate team? Was Bobby Knight probly smoking crack when he called a college player the best basketball player he’s ever seen play after coaching him on that collegiate Olympic team? @@sideshowbobsaget8876 you’re right, but I personally go off what I’ve seen. I grew up in the 80’s/90’s so Magic is my personal Goat in the NBA, Tyson is my all time fav boxer, and Lawrence Taylor is my all time favorite NFL player. People have their opinions but it loses merit if you depend on UA-cam or call some one the goat that played their last game before you were even born. Not saying you are but that’s just my opinion.

@@Natureboy8383 Have you seen Russell play? Do you think he isn't top ten because you haven't seen him play? Everyone has different criteria for who they think is the GOAT. I understand what you're saying though. You have to have some kind of knowledge of these athletes, but imo most fans seem to be casuals when ranking players. How many have seen Doc but based off everything he did it safe to say he's top 20. We can't exclude the past.

There are other players in the NBA that won more titles than him, scored more than him, won more gold medals than him. But why is he called the GOAT? Because Jordan is just a media creation.

It’s just that so many have only seen his highlights or heard his lore. And not seem him play. He’s the greatest nba player to most. But there were a lot of 10-33 nights in the playoffs. A lot of first round playoff exits. He won 6 rings but played many more years than that. His lord is built on just those 6 years and the rest of his career is disregarded by the masses. His off court behavior would be shunned in this social media era.

Having the HIGHEST scoring avg in NBA History is not a myth. Having the HIGHEST playoff scoring avg in NBA History is not a myth. Winning 10 scoring titles is not a myth. Leading the league in steals 3 seasons isn't a myth. Having the HIGHEST P.E.R in nba history is not a myth. Stop it Colon. Imagine if this same type of so called " marketing campaign" was used for a player like say, Ben Simmons 🤔, it doesn't hit the same. Basketball was dominated by Addidas and Converse before Jordan. NIKE WAS NOTHING in the NBA before Jordan. Phil Jackson had ZERO series wins before Jordan. He wasn't even a head coach. And it was Tex Winters offensive system, not Phil Jackson 🙄. Colon, just stop it, man. You are to good of a reporter for this video. Or are you? You are just blatantly omitting FACTS! Jordan even gave the " LEGENDARY " Dean Smith his 1st title....so in reality, who made who? It seems to me that Jordan gave them all their 1st

Mind you I never saw Mj play with the Bulls only for the Wizards. I respect Lebrons career but the MIA thing was a reason we saw the KD GS thing which really ruined basketball and if you don’t believe tht you don’t know basketball 💯
