When I first watched deadpool, I thought she was Nichelle Nichols. She's one of those celebrities who looks like another celebrity like Javier Bardem/ Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Nick Cannon/ Michael B Jordan, or every blonde lady on Fox News.

In the Fallout universe the bombs fell October 23, 2077 Saturday morning. The first nuke hit the east coast at 945am and the west coast right after. For 2 hours bombs continuously fell on the US. and China. Although we only see 4 nukes drop on L.A., one can only imagine the hell on Earth those 2 hours must've felt and looked like. Although the show changed the time of the bombing, still the same day just later on in the day, it still did amazing in capturing the panic, anxiety, and stress in just those few moments.
Salt Lake City was hit with 15 warheads
Do they show the time in episode 1? 9:45am east coast would be 12:45pm West coast time and based on the suns position in the first shot it looks to be afternoon in the first episode.
@@johnkubus8028 My man - 9:45 am est would be 6:45 am pst. They were having a kids birthday party at before 7 AM? The sun was this high in the sky at 6:45? I think they fucked up the times in the show based on established lore.

Sounds like maybe there was a delay on the bombs that dropped on LA specifically. Judging by the radio and weather broadcast it sounds like there was informational chaos going on in the world that the birthday party was actively trying to ignore. That could reflect a world where all lines of communication have gone silent.
Quick summary: Fallout 1 and 2 happen in California. Fallout 3 and 4 happen on the east coast (DC and Boston). Fallout New Vegas is... well, it's in Vegas. And the show happens 9 years after the start of Fallout 4, the latest game.
Nobody mention "that" game, its bad luck.
15 years after Vegas and some things in the show really don't make sense since the west coast was much more developed than the east it means civilization pretty much reset in 15 years.

@@JellisX891 the NCR had a population of 700 000 and included all of southern California as well as parts of Mexico and Nevada. There would still be a lot left.
Makes me wonder if we will see some remnants (or even a full-fledged force) from the Institute. Though I am not sure what the canon ending of Fallout 4 is supposed to be.

She had a variety show back in the '60s as well! Absolutely *gorgeous*
And Kizzy in the original Roots miniseries. It's difficult to convey what a huge cultural phenomenon that show was at the time, and how iconic she was in that role. When she spit in Missy Anne's cup, millions cheered.

I completely agree, they should have released 1 episode per week. The amount of buzz it would have created is mind-blowing. It was nice to binge-watch, but they could have increased the viewing audience just by people talking about it, missed opportunity. Still a great show, looking forward to watching you guys react to all of it.

exactly, besides if he was racist why was the dude at his party? the fact is most personal fallout shelters have limited space/supplies, and you aren't gonna be down there for one night. could be weeks, or months.
I mean, MAAAAAYYYYYBEEEE an argument could be made about catastrophe stripping people of social necessities and giving licenses to act on racism, but they would have had to do a lot more stuff to establish that. It was definitely just a "I'm only thinking about the survival of my own family, screw EVERYONE else" situation.
Fallout is fairly devoid of racism against African-Americans and Latinos, while going to extremes on racism against Asians. That's part of the setting being 2077 originally, not the 1950s as the look would make you think. Social progress did continue even while design stagnated.
Later Fallout games also made it clear that there was little concern over the LGBT community either.

Before the bomb fell he was picking on the cowboy and seemed the snobby privileged type. His family even told them not to watch the news.

This might be subjective, but the show has something many shows don't, even to fans, is that it has rewatch ability, which adds to the experience.
Every time you see something new and catch something you missed even on your second watch through, I find that to be incredibly unique and a sign of incredible writing.
Neither the viewers, nor the actors are being spoon-fed, and it shines through.
Now we just need to wait for the Navada DLC (season 2).

The good thing about this show is that its timeline is after any of the games, so anything that happens in the show does not spoil any of the games and is not connected in any way though there are a ton of Easter eggs

So, even the way the nations stockpiled nukes in Fallout is different from reality. While in the real world we kept developing bigger and deadlier strategic bombs, in the Fallout universe, the powers focused on producing hundreds more tactical warheads, all of roughly equivalent power to the bombs we dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That's why so many of them were dropped.
12:33 That was a Stimpak, the primary means of healing in the Fallout games. I think Kyle Hill did a video on then once to explain the kind of horrific things a Stimpak would have to do to be able to heal injuries the way it does in game.
I actually like series being released at once. You can still rewatch it any time.
TBH, there's positives and negatives to weekly and binge releases. I'm fine with both. There's so many shows to check out today that it literally feels like not enough time to watch everything when it all releases.
If I'm already watching several shows on different platforms during a certain period, I don't like to start a new series or another season until I've finished a previous show/season. Depending on if I'm really enjoying the show and it's so good that I can't wait to get to the next ep, I'll binge it.
I don't sweat over the wait time b/c I always have another show ready to watch, whether it's an older series I've never seen or a new series that just came out. These streaming platforms take risks with dropping weekly/binge releases and there's no guarantee of another season happening if the show isn't good from the start.
Yes, you may want to have that weekly draw and anticipation but some shows don't need that. Nowadays, shows are getting early renewals before they air or immediately air after high viewership. Some may take a bit to get that renewal and others unfortunately don't find a wider audience as anticipated, and that can happen w/a binge or weely release.
Plus, I'm a person that doesn't like spoilers so the binge model can be a nuisance for this but I've also have ways to avoid them as much as possible. And just b/c all eps release at once, no one says you have to watch all at once. For some weekly shows, I'll miss out on 3/4 eps and when I finally get back to that show, I'll binge several eps. It's a matter of how you go about it.
Whether people like it or not, the weekly/binge releases presents options for many people. Not everyone is able to watch the day/night a new ep airs. That's fine. You watch them when it's convenient for you.
Great thing about Fallout is that it's a really good series and Amazon has renewed it for a S2, which will likely have a weekly release.

Great reactions! Something that keeps playing in my mind is how much like our current reality the politics are. There are literally billionaires today that want THIS future. There are survivalists who can't wait for Mad Max to be reality. The subtext of the consequences of capitalism and fanaticism is the real prism to view the Fallout universe through. It is satire on reality. In many ways we are a few seconds from this future.

I think the full season drop was an excellent measure of interest. Pilot season, as apposed to a single pilot episode. I’m betting the following seasons are weekly drops.

FO4 came out with an update - supposed to correlate with the release of the Tv show. Looks awesome 🎮
I’ve heard the update is good for PlayStation, and Xbox users seem to be 50/50. But if you (by “you” I mean anyone who happens to see this) play FO4 on PC and especially if you have a hefty mod list, I hope you’re like me and have it permanently set not to update.
