Welcome to the Fallout community! I am very excited to watch your reactions to this series! You will definitely have to start the games! Lots of game to show relativity!
Denise's reaction to the gore in the series reflects exactly what happens in the games. Is everything so exaggeratedly gloomy and bloody that it turns funny at the end. and is almost impossible not to laught
@@OfficialMediaKnights Bethesda gave the production the 3D models of all the game assets so they were able to make game accurate versions for the show.
Fun fact; Walton Goggins scared the shit out of himself on set. In an interview, he told a story where he fell asleep in full prosethtics as The Ghoul and when he woke up, he forgot about it until he saw his reflection
So the timeline for Fallout diverged from ours around the '50's, where instead of miniaturizing electronics and developing green technologies, we focused on nuclear tech, creating miniature fusion reactors and huge vacuum tube supercomputers, enhanced cybernetics, and robotic tech. the 1950's aesthetic as of 2077 (when the bombs dropped) was kind of a retro-futuristic sort of fad that was going on at the time, as it is documented in the games that Pretty Hate Machine and other 80's/90's era things did exist, but were out of vogue by this time. China was the dominant antagonist superpower to America, not Russia, and constant tensions between the two fuelled a nuclear arms race much like it did in our world, but the paranoid fear of Communism was more pronounced here, sort of like if the Red Scare just became an enduring facet of society instead of just a fading memory when the USSR fell. The European Commonwealth was analogous to the EU, and Canada ended up breaking off from the UK as a commonwealth at some point too. About 2052 is when world petroleum reserves began to run out, and oil wells began going dry. The Resource Wars began, with the European Commonwealth invading the Middle East for their oil, but after 8 years their wells dried up too, so the Commonwealth withdrew, and then devolved into infighting and the European Civil War began. Tensions between China and America flared, and the Sino-American war began in 2060. The US had already invaded Mexico for it's oil, and car manufacturers were desperately trying to switch over to fusion tech as gas engines were no longer viable with no fuel. Vault-Tec corporation had been established in 2054 and won the contract for the government project Safehouse, to prepare for a potential nuclear war with China. In 2066, China invaded Alaska, and Power Armor units were the mainstays of both fighting forces. By 2076, the US had annexed Canada to bolster its failing economy and began pushing back, launching a counter-invasion of China, and then, just a year later... The Great War happened, the launch of China's nukes after being pressed up against the wall by the US military prompted our own nuclear response, and, well... you know the rest. 200 years later is when the events of most of the Fallout games take place. As to the Vaults, they each had their own distinct directives, the only known ones to be connected to each other are the ones in the show: 31, 32, and 33. Also, Ghouls are irradiated humans who didn't die, but rather mutated and adapted to the radiation, although their features are 'ghoulified' in the process. This gives them very long extended lifespans, and actually gives them increased strength and regeneration in the presence of radioactive material. They have no noses so they can eat food normies find disgusting (yes they still need to eat and drink), but their status makes them resistant to most drugs so they have to take copious amounts to get the same effect as humans do. Their enhanced physiology that is resistant to damage helps them in this as well.
@@OfficialMediaKnights No problem, I've always loved the idea of an alternate timeline where we chose to continue building on nuclear power rather than being unreasonably afraid of it, and of course, the exploration of what a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland would look like. Great summary. Additionally, Ghouls turn feral when not constantly guzzling on drugs (There are heaps of performance enhancing drugs, boosting physical and mental abilities (that's the inhaler one of the Raiders in the vault raid inhaled) and also drugs to fight of the effects of radiation (Rad X) which will show up in the show later on,
Is it relatable though? There were times something happens that expects you to have played the games and my reaction was "wt# is going on" and never really got an answer. It's one thing to include things from the games, but you have to explain it for those who haven't played or your series feels like an acid trip.

@@OfficialMediaKnights well i have to say its really great to see you guys react to this. This show itself is crazy in more ways than one, even for us fallout fans. Just a couple of non-spoiler game mentions - The 'stimpak' (syringe) is almost a cure-all. It's your basic medkit in the game. It doesn't cure everything, but will at least improve most things with immediate results. The orange inhaler the raider used is 'Jet', an inhaled steroid. As you have noticed by now, the show has a very dark and violent sense of humor. This come directly from the game which is perfectly matched in tone. Towards the end, you may have seen someone shot and killed with an arm of a baby doll. This was done with a 'junk jet' - a gun from the game that you literally load and fire with junk. Ghouls are people who have been exposed to radiation for extended periods of time. You'll learn a little more about them as the season progresses but props to Denise for spotting the hospital bags above the Ghoul's grave. It was relevant. Also, using the irony of the music is a big element of the game. The cheerful 50's crooner music set to a catastrophic or violent landscape/scene is itself part of the story and almost a character itself as a reminder of the moral of the story.
"JONATHAN NOLAN?!!!" Yup, the fact that HE was doing this made us all REALLY confident this was gonna be a genuine TRIP. Especially since, now that Westworld is finished, he and his regular co-writer Lisa Joy needed another heavywheight project with SERIOUS LEGS to occupy their time ...
The opening "prologue" of this episode is (and I'm not even kidding" one of the most amazing openings to a TV show I've ever seen in my nearly 50 years of being on this planet. And the rest of the episode was pretty damn good also :D lol
SO THRILLED that you're reacting to Fallout! As a veteran of all the major Fallout games, the attention to detail in this show has blown my mind. Since I know y'all loved the Die Hard movies, I'm not sure if anyone commented on this yet, but I have a hunch that the one who made Lucy MacLean loved those movies as well. Not spelled the same "McClane" but still gets that feeling.
the thing i love is all of the music in the show you can hear in the games on the ingame radio stations, and all the main fallout characters have nicknames associated with them not sure if Lucy has been given hers yet, the Vault Dweller, the Chosen one, the Warrior, the lone wander, the courier and the sole survivor in order of the games.
10:50 - The vaults are specifically designed as separate units to serve as firewalls between vaults, for just this reason - raiders, radiation, or even mutinous factions, pretty smart design, and why the vaults are isolated from each other
I binged this whole series when it came out, and I couldn't wait to see your reactions. I just loved this series! As Denise pointed out, the score is incredible and it is perfect throughout the entire series! Great first episode review!
As for another show, definitely The Expanse! I think you guys would love it. It’s a futuristic hard sci-fi, based on a set of books that were written by the former assistants of George R.R. Martin. It was originally a SyFy show that got cancelled after season 3 because it was so expensive for a network channel, but the fans were so in love with it they campaigned all the big streaming platforms to pick it up, fans crowdsourced and flew a plane over Amazons headquarters with a banner that said save the expanse, as well as sent a model of one of the ships into space.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Oh hell yes. I was hooked immediately, but for some folks it takes them until the 3rd episode to get *really* hooked, lined, and sunk. Whole-heartedly +1 The Expanse.
@@OfficialMediaKnights I think you're gonna love it from the first episode. Not only it's story is criminally good, but also the cinematography is outstanding and the soundtrack is epic
Glad you’re watching this. They absolutely nailed this show and stayed faithful to the source material. You’ll love it even though you haven’t played the game, but for us who have, it’s something special
It's interesting to see your reactions to this coming in completely blind, and having never played the games before. I'm a longtime fan, playing since they were 2d isometric turn-based RPGs, and this show just absolutely nailed the tone and style of the games! Can't wait for your next episode reaction!
I've been waiting to see which of the react channels I watch would be first to cover Fallout and yay! it was you two! Absolutely loved this show. The retrofuture aesthetic throughout is really well done. Do be sure to watch through the end credits of each episode as some have more content. I hadn't played Fallout but currently messing about in Fallout 76 on the back of watching the series.
So glad you guys are watching this! Love the games, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park with this show! Fun seeing your reactions as folks who haven't played the games but who are very intelligent, observant entertainment connoisseurs!
I spend hundreds of hours in the Fallout games. Couldn't believe the hype around this show, but boy do they've nailed it. By far the best video game adaption to date.
I grew up with Fallout, played my first one back in 2001 I think and then I bought Fallout 2 CD which I still have today! Huge fan of the fallout franchise and i can say it's amazing how well adapted this series is. You guys are in for a treat! Also love to see the reactions of people that never played the games, so fun and interesting to hear other opinions and the fun game of figure out what's happening and what's the story is! Welcome to the Wasteland!
Upon my first glimpse of T-60 powered armour, I thought is was Amazon Studios' version of Space Marine armour. It made me think that this was their way of slowly preparing us for the Warhammer 40K Cinematic Universe.
If you loved this, imagine the players of the franchise. I was so stoked watching this with the missus, stopping every 2 mins to explain all the easter eggs and goodness that totally flies over the head of non-players. Keep at it!

so glad you're watching this, i'm totally here for it. also, if you decide to react to "the expanse" i'll be there for that too. just a quick fyi, the opening of this is an on screen depiction of what became known as "the great war" in the fallout universe. it was the culmination of a decade of war with China and lasted only 2 hours. during that 2 hours pretty much the entire surface of the world was changed forever.
The Fallout reaction hype train is real. And I LOVE it! 😀😃😀 I've been playing the Fallout franchise for years and it's truly amazing how the sets/props/wardrobe is so damn spot-on when compared to the game.
I was hoping you guys would do this one! I should probably wait until you have them all out, but I love you two, so I will be going crazy waiting for you to get these videos out. 😆Enjoy!
@@OfficialMediaKnights No spoilers, but great sets, lots of character stuff and a fun soundtrack! I'm usually a cynical, skeptical chunk of coal but I was pleasantly surprised!
As a long time fallout fan this show hit the mark almost 100% to the game. Everything from the mutated animals, the feral ghouls, the stimpacks, the towns, etc etc to the way people talk. The music is the same music you can listen to in game via the pipboy that the vault dwellers have on their wrists. And even the gore, dismemberment is a huge part of the game. I binged the whole season in 1 day and was very impressed with it. And when yall get a chance, you have got to play it.
Yessss! I’m so glad you guys are checking out this show. It’s so, so good. You can really tell everyone involved in making this show is respecting the universe established in the games🔥
Wasn't expecting you guys to react to this at all, I can't wait! Walton Goggins as The Ghoul is one of my favorite characters in a long time! He's always been a great, under appreciated actor but I think this role will really put his name out there.
I binge watched this with my friend, I've never played any of the games before, this show is incredible, very well done, and it got me into the games, Fallout 4 was my very first game and I love it!
I'm impressed that this show featured many songs from the Fallout games. 'Crawl out through the fallout', 'I don't want to set the world on fire' etc. One of the best game adaptations ever.
I love how they kept the feel of the games, especially the first 2 games that was very dark and satirical. They really managed to keep it really funny at times but keeping the dark tone.
I'm no way a fallout nerd, I've only played Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter but I had a lot of fun with them. But I can see how well these people have recreated the world, I'm really looking forward to seeing you both react to this.
Yay! I never played the game either but watching this series made me want to play the game, so it is on my list now. This is going to be a great ride watching the reactions to everything.
I don't remember Walton Goggins from any movie and I saw some where he had some small parts. But here he is the most charismatic guy under the sun. He reminds me of Gunslinger from Stephen King's books.
You're going to love this show. It stays true to the games in atmosphere, style, tone, etc. One thing I want to mention is the vaults are typically standalone. Vaults 31, 32, and 33 are connected which is special.
3:01 par attention to the city proper as the shockwave zooms by it is leveling houses. Such great Details. 3:48 L.A. So Badass it takes 4 FOUR Nukes. 5:00 What I loved is what you didn't show and that is the signing of the Dress. 200 years old and they share the one and only dress that have. 5:52 Cousin Luvin its not just for hicks anymore. 7:30 #OkieDokie 9:22 The Real Victim of this show; that stunning dress. 200 years and not a thing wrong with it; Lucy puts it on and bloodstain.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but the score are all songs that are in the games or are done in the same era. FO really has a specific vibe and contrast.

Since I know y'all loved the Die Hard movies, I'm not sure if anyone commented on this yet, but I have a hunch that the one who made Lucy MacLean loved those movies as well. Not spelled the same "McClane" but still gets that feeling.
Wasn't sure which reactor I wanted to watch this series with. Glad you guys decided to give it a go!
That means a lot to both of us! Thank you for all the love ❤️
the thing i love is all of the music in the show you can hear in the games on the ingame radio stations, and all the main fallout characters have nicknames associated with them not sure if Lucy has been given hers yet, the Vault Dweller, the Chosen one, the Warrior, the lone wander, the courier and the sole survivor in order of the games.
You two are very quickly becoming my fav reactors! Well done breaking things down with good points.
Yess let's go! The best thing that stands out for me is how the music choices fits each situation so damn well.
Those suits of armor they are wearing called "power armor" are actually real practical suits in a bunch of shots
Every single plot line was well written towards end of the season. I love it
As for another show, definitely The Expanse!
We have been getting some recommendations for The Expanse and it sounds like it's right up our alley! It's always amazing to see what fans can do!
totally this!👆👆👆🙂🙂🙂
@@OfficialMediaKnights Oh hell yes. I was hooked immediately, but for some folks it takes them until the 3rd episode to get *really* hooked, lined, and sunk. Whole-heartedly +1 The Expanse.
YEEEES! The Expanse is the best Sci Fi show ever made. I'd loooove to follow a reaction to that. I hope that happens!
Glad to see you two reacting to this, I think you'll appreciate the story and characters as well as the filmmaking aspects of it all!
Looking forward to the rest of this series on this channel!
having played the games and dug into the lore, as soon as i saw it was prewar America i knew exactly what day it was
It's interesting to see your reactions to this coming in completely blind, and having never played the games before.
They captured the spirit of the games SO WELL in every way I started playing Fallout 4 again!
So glad you guys are watching this! Love the games, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park with this show! Fun seeing your reactions as folks who haven't played the games but who are very intelligent, observant entertainment connoisseurs!
I am really glad you are reacting to this series. They really nailed the tone and feel of the Fallout universe.
so glad you guys are watching.
9:25 The raider told that guy "Stick around". lol
I spend hundreds of hours in the Fallout games. Couldn't believe the hype around this show, but boy do they've nailed it. By far the best video game adaption to date.
Never played the game, but totally digged the vibe of this show and binged it all in a oner. Walton Goggins was immense!
Love you guys ! You guys deserve a million subscribers!!
Never played the game but I enjoyed the show. You guys are in for a treat!
Glad you both enjoy it
So are we, this is a fantastic show thus far!
@@OfficialMediaKnightsawesome
After watching dozens of reactions and the series, I'm just now realizing that the meds The Ghoul inhales is probably just aerosolized Rad Away 😮😮
Okie dokie
The old school music fits so well with this world
I’m so happy you guys are reacting to this show! I love the way you react and i hope you will keep doing it for the next years❤
I grew up with Fallout, played my first one back in 2001 I think and then I bought Fallout 2 CD which I still have today!
The intro to the ghoul in ep. 1 had the actor that played Bubba in Forrest Gump.
If you loved this, imagine the players of the franchise.
I was so stoked watching this with the missus, stopping every 2 mins to explain all the easter eggs and goodness that totally flies over the head of non-players.
Keep at it!
Great first season, I love ( The Good, The Bad and The Ugly ) Style they went with introducing the characters.
YES YES YES! Been watching yall for a while, so happy yall are doing this show!
We’re so happy to be covering this! Thank you for the support and for watching ❤️
@@OfficialMediaKnights I am so happy this is yalls first show! I was thinking yall should do it and here we are! This show wont disappoint! Ill stick along and try to answer questions if yall have any, im a huge Fallout nerd :) After this see about Loki, Chernobyl, Midnight Mass and Andor plz!
Lucy is the voice actress of Jinx in Arcane
Also the black lady in the counsel is also Blind Al from Deadpool.
OMG WHATTTTT
@@OfficialMediaKnights and Honcho, the bounty hunter who revives the Ghoul is Bubba from Forrest Gump :)
@@OfficialMediaKnights Yeah its hard to see without the glasses and without all the cussin'
so glad you're watching this, i'm totally here for it. also, if you decide to react to "the expanse" i'll be there for that too.
just a quick fyi, the opening of this is an on screen depiction of what became known as "the great war" in the fallout universe. it was the culmination of a decade of war with China and lasted only 2 hours. during that 2 hours pretty much the entire surface of the world was changed forever.
I like seeing the reactions in the first 3 minutes, they are always astonished.
The Fallout reaction hype train is real. And I LOVE it! 😀😃😀
I've been playing the Fallout franchise for years and it's truly amazing how the sets/props/wardrobe is so damn spot-on when compared to the game.
I was hoping you guys would do this one! I should probably wait until you have them all out, but I love you two, so I will be going crazy waiting for you to get these videos out. 😆Enjoy!
Perfect timing! Just watched S1 overnight so this'll be fun 👍
Talk about perfect timing! Can’t wait to see what else this show has in store for us 😄
@@OfficialMediaKnights No spoilers, but great sets, lots of character stuff and a fun soundtrack!
YEEEES
so glad you're reacting to this!!!!
First Song direct from the Games. I remember all of them
Thanx for the reply. I think you guys are awesome. I love seeing people passionate about something
Kyle MacLachlan played Paul Atreides in the David Lynch Dune movie. That's all I think of whenever I see him in something lol.
It's great that Boyd Crowder, Limehouse, and Daryl Crow Jr. made it out of the apocalypse. ;)
Wasn't expecting you guys to react to this at all, I can't wait! Walton Goggins as The Ghoul is one of my favorite characters in a long time! He's always been a great, under appreciated actor but I think this role will really put his name out there.
Never played it. Binged this show. Amazing. Ella Purnell is becoming one of my fav actresses. Yellowjackets. Voice actor in Arcane
I binge watched this with my friend, I've never played any of the games before, this show is incredible, very well done, and it got me into the games, Fallout 4 was my very first game and I love it!
Long term player here and I loved it! I hope you guys react to the whole season 🙂
I'm impressed that this show featured many songs from the Fallout games. 'Crawl out through the fallout', 'I don't want to set the world on fire' etc. One of the best game adaptations ever.
11:28 I love everyone feels sad about lucy's dad, until they learned somthing about him
I love how they kept the feel of the games, especially the first 2 games that was very dark and satirical.
Glad to see you guys again 😀Let’s go
We're so glad to be back!! Thank you so much for the love and support ❤️
Fun fact: the guy who tried to recruit The Ghoul at the end is literally Bubba from Forrest Gump
😱😱😱😱 HOLY CRAP IT IS
You're going to love this show. It stays true to the games in atmosphere, style, tone, etc. One thing I want to mention is the vaults are typically standalone. Vaults 31, 32, and 33 are connected which is special.
Fun fact: The leading cowboy who digs up The Ghoul is Bubba from Forrest Gump
Mykelti Williamson
Oh hell nahhhh?!? you guys decided to watch Fallout? awesomeeeeee :D
My favorite reactor couple finally embarks in the journey of Fallout the TV show.
(This comment was written before watching the video)
