So the occupants in the home didn’t contact the authorities when the suspect showed up earlier that morning to shoot the home up? Something illegal may be going on in that house that they didn’t want to involve the police in the beginning. When the suspect returned to finish the job I guess they felt they had no other choice.

Although it is technically a pistol, the AK47 7.62 round is routinely used around the world for its penetrative and stopping power. The rounds also happen to be cheap, but it’s much more effective than a 5.56 bullet in close quarters and certainly through a barrier blind like a wall or window. So while this might not conform to your opinion of a high powered rifle (again you omitted the very obvious characteristic of it being a pistol), it’s powerful enough to kill any person or prey in North America. It’s very similar in ballistics to a .30-30 when it comes to hitting wild game. So I think you’re just parroting talking points for clout but it’s clear you know nothing about firearms.

The AK pattern is typically chambered in 7.62x39 (very important to specify x39 as there are AKs like a Saiga .308 which is chambered in 7.62x51 or .308) which is an intermediate cartridge, meaning not full-power. Rounds like .30-06, .308, 8mm Mauser are full-power cartridges.
