This stock footage was probably used for "back projection" shots, so much of its detail would have been missed by the viewer. Differently dated footage cut together was often used for this purpose. Interesting to see these rushes though. Thanks, it brought back some good memories.
The Vauxhall Viva parked on the left at 01:10 - produced from September 1963 -1966. Confusingly, on the clapperboard at 03:29 it gives the date of 19th Oct '62. Filming of 'Man of the World'. Cam (eraman?) Dick Bailey. According to IMDb - made from 1962-63. You'll note at 09:50 that 'Maggie May' is playing at the Adelphi Theatre - this opened in September 22nd 1964 and ran for 501 performances. So this footage may be spliced from a few pieces of film.
@@jeffgraham6387 A and B registrations were issued all over the country from 1st January 1963 & 1964 respectively. However, some local licensing offices didn’t adopt the A in 1963 and carried on issuing plates with three numbers and three letters, three letters and three numbers and two letters and four numbers and four numbers and two letters.
Very interesting and evocative...guidance for cameraman next time...avoid shots out the side window of moving vehicles...everything's a blur. Otherwise a look at a lost world ! Thank you.
Excellent video. Best decade ever. The music, fashion and everything all looked such fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!☺

At the beginning there is a parked Rover P6. These cars were introduced new in October 1963.
I do not see an year car reg suffixes so that would be at least 1963

Good times 😥
Great cars and the old buses 'Routemaster' where you could jump on and off ..brilliant piece of Social History..
Rover 2000 production began in 1963
What part of London is this?
It starts in Camden heading South. A lot of it is the Strand from Fleet Street down to Trafalgar Sqauare

Lol, the cameraman's probably dead now his next times are over
1:40 no one stops at crossing.
At the very start of this video shows a Rover 2000, launched in 1963. So this can't be a 1962 film. Am I nit picking? 😂
That was a long way to reverse
A waste of film.
