Multimode Vactrol Filter & VCA with a wide sonic range + Pinging - Teia OptoCore

- The Teia Synthesizers OptoCore combines a vactrol multimode filter, with a vactrol VCA. Both circuits run in parallel, and you can manually crossfade between the two. The separate controls for drive, resonance and feedback add to the sonic range of the module. In this video I go over the functions and features of the OptoCore in detail, show a series of patches to give you an idea of the sonic range, and finally spend some time pinging the filter for percussive sounds!

Hello! I have been using the Teia OptoCore, a module that combines a powerful vactrol multimode filter with a vactrol VCA. Due to separate drive, resonance and feedback controls it has a very wide sonic character. I also go a bit more in depth on pinging this module for percussive sounds!

Beautiful design. Just bought it and also the wave shaper from Ruben. Can’t wait. I love the it has a LPG
Agree! He's doing cool stuff for sure :) Enjoy the modules!
Great demo again.
I love the front panels on their modules. Very clear signage and workflow. Well thought out.
Thanks! Indeed, they are really self explanatory, and quality made. Also just look pretty great. I know it shouldn't matter, but still ;)
Thoughtfully-designed module. Impressive.
Yeah, thinks so to! Thought the same off the VasWave oscillator they make. Good range of usefull sounds, with good control and responds. Nice stuff :)
Your tech talk series is amazing dude, very well done.
Glad to hear you like them, very happy to be able to make these :)
What a beautiful and great sounding tool
Nice video too!
Glad you like it! All the best :)
Another great demo,thanks again
Glad you enjoyed it Wayne!
Excellent work…..really appreciate these videos!
Glad you like them! Happy to make these, cheers!
the drone patch is my favourite, nice video Monotrail thanks for your channel, I'm going to try these ideas on Freak by Vult on a vactrol filter called NURAGE it's similar but doesn't have the VCA/FILTER as a crossover it's a great source of ideas your video
Nurage screams so good. Haven't played around with the vactrol response too much..
@@GeorgeLocke very good module, especially in bass drum percussions, greatly increases transients and gives a lot of presence, ideal in techno
Good to hear, thanks! And enjoy the experiments with the Nurage, happy to inspire :)
That feedback knob kind of makes it sound like a Wasp filter. Looks like a pretty excellent bongo module! So you can touch all those stripes, huh?
It has some of that low rumbling indeed, but can also scream a bit more, and be more gentle, was impressed by the range of this one. Touch stripes are fun! But have to say with my big fingers it's not a precision tool, more of a fun bonus :)
is optocore a rabid elephant and filter in 1 bundle? tremendous teaching methods by the way!
Glad you liked it, aaaand just gonna say yes to that :)
