I agree with others, thank you for providing the science behind our terrariums. As always, your terrariums are beautiful to admire as you film over them, giving us all some inspiration.
That was such a phenomenal quick explanation of what happens inside the system. You explained it so well, and made it very easy to understand. Thank you (:
What a great presentation. Thanks for this one, it was good hearing the science behind terrariums. You have so many beautiful living creations. It must be very gratifying.
Thanks for this. I just built a 50 gallon terrarium for an eastern ringneck snake and based on this everything seems to be working correctly. My main concern is the breakdown of dead matter and the cleanup of mold and harmful bacteria. Its entirely native and should replicate the snakes natural habitat. I also raised an aquarium full of treefrog tadpoles to add as a food source for the snake which ill add as they develop into frogs. The frogs should also be able to eat the springtails and isopods as they grow. I still need something to eat the snails because they are breeding out of control.
Hey ! I just want to tell you you give me the love of terrarium. I'm french, and the terrariums solded in shops of my country are so ugly and "synthetic". You give me an other face of the art of terrarium : imitate the chaos of the nature and creating a true ecosystem. You're my biggest source of inspiration, and i love your zen attitude :)
Very well explained video congrats! In some way, it is an enclosed system but only from the matter perspective. As light can enter, it cannot be called an enclosed system since you vary the amount of energy that comes in. Some heat comes out but in general the carbon and water are more and more captured over time. That is why terrariums occasionally need to be opened and misted with small amounts of water. Some pruning gets necessary for that reason.
Perfect explanation! I also believe that airflow can greatly help terrarium success, but not enough to drastically reduce humidity. Could that be due to more useful gases entering the system and being used?
You can collect from your garden. They are not absolutely necessary but good to have. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/GRaYRx57JLk/v-deo.htmlsi=f5l2jIuPonIhjQ9i
Hlw sir.after watching tons of ur videos.i made a pickle jar terrarium.the plant is growing well but recently i invented 3 unicorn snail in my small pickle jar terrarium. I m confuse what to do.will they survive there? Can you give me some advice?.love watching ur videos.❤
They may survive for a while but eventually would need some ventilation. Better to remove as they can damage the terrarium and spoil the look (unless you want an ecosystem and not bothered about looks)

Good one,
Gave me a good understanding of the science behind terrarium.
Pls sir make a video regarding summer season. How to keep the right temperature for terrarium.
Covered in this video ua-cam.com/video/Qbmva1FF4Mc/v-deo.html
The biggest fact that we don't understand is that the Earth itself is the biggest made Terrarium ever..
Actually a vivarium

You are welcome. Thanks
Great presentation bro 👍
Thank you
Your explanation is good, but when a terrarium requires upkeep, it loses its claim to being truly self-sustaining...
He did say almost always self-sustaining
If you get it just right he's not wrong.
sir will addition of denitrifying bacteria used in aquariums help the terrarium environment ?
You can try
Thank you very much for your video. Very clear explanation & great presentation. 😊🩷👍
