------------
In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
Whenever I finish an episode, I always tell myself, "Okay, that was the last one, I won't watch anymore so I don't burn through it all." Yeah, that doesn't work at all, lads.
It’s 4:30 in the morning here, my alarm will go off in 2 hours and I’m not sure if I’m even gonna try to get some sleep or just watch another episode or two and take a hot shower
@@CrippleX89 Did you make the right choice?
I started rewatching earlier seasons before moving on to later ones because I didn't want them to be over. 😭
I’ve burned through them all multiple times now. The great thing about Taskmaster is that it’s so good you that you still laugh during each rewatch. I’ve also noticed things and jokes I’d previously missed.
I am on my first full run of the actual series after watching a few dozen of the individual tasks in other videos.
So much better to see the entire thing.
"Build the Taskmaster something."
"Right. Hostage video?"
"Hostage video."
Well, it is a hostage video, but also an… infomercial… for a… tickle tent?
I laughed much harder at the tickle station than at the tiki bar
I think we’ve concluded that Doc is, in fact, a pineapple person.
Not an egg man or a fish man, but a pineapple man through and through
What's he think of pens and apples?

He's also a cat person
Joe: "I'm forty years old"
Alex: "Happy birthday"
Alex is pretty damn quick, underratedly so
Agreed. I am ashamed to say I never heard of him before I first saw this show. But he's such a brilliant guy.
So funny
Literally my favourite comedian.
"There's a lot of sexual tension"
Alex: "tension? I'm quite happy"

In 25:42 Doc hits the keys of the typewriter in the rhythm of the William Tell Overture, foreshadowing his set task
Nice find
OH MY GOSH! You’re actually a genius- how did you catch this?! Hahaha
I am genuinely deeply impressed that you noticed this.
Mind blowing

my favorite part of this show is how genuinely uninterested alex seems whenever anyone asks him to participate in the task
He somehow perfectly straddles the line of going along with whatever they ask without contributing anything of his own.
@@AllUpOns unless you have 80 pounds

John's pineapple hiding was incredible, his technique was genuinely smart, at the start of the task I thought "hiding it in a LOT of places is bad, just gives him more chances of guessing a right place" but it turns out it was actually the best tactic, and all the diversions he did worked out perfectly.
I don’t think he knew they’d be graded based on incorrect guesses. Seemed like he figured the more spread out it is the easier it is to conceal which was also a good tactic
Most incorrect guesses wins was in the task
@@starpupilz right, but he didn't seem to absorb that part, don't think he got it.
@kittykat490
Which one is John?
Joe is wearing the tie he put up for a prize round.
“He is laCROSSED!”
**Insert outstanding applause from the audience**
I didn't get it, can you please explain it?
zain k. Crossed means upset
Alex already said “He was so cross” so saying he was la cross would just be repeating what Alex said, with a la in front of it. I though he said it in reference to the la cross stick that when into the tree, but either way, I didn’t get it. It was not that great of a pun. (Unless I’m totally missing the point.)

10:00 it almost seems staged how well they timed Alex looking at Greg horrified and then turning forward just as Greg turns to Alex with the same look
Joe telling Jon, "you're a weird man," cracked me up.
23:14
For the pineapple bit, I think I would have pulled off 3-4 leaves and hidden them in random places, then just put the rest of the pineapple in a blatant place, like under my shirt. The big part is discovered quickly and then the rest of the pineapple is nearly impossible to guess the locations.
Bee Dazzle ah man! That’s brilliant!

For the past fifteen minutes, I've been trying to stifle hysterical laughter AND not choke on my dinner, while a stodgy old professor and his students at the next table keep looking at me like I've had a mental breakdown. Thank you, I feel that I can now carry on!
Good luck with your exams!
I'm supposed to study for my finals, but have been watching these for the last couple of hours now and have seriously choked at the pineapple bit.

Alex runs the show and creates the tasks but for the purposes of the show they pretend that Greg/The Taskmaster runs the show and sets the tasks.
Is anyone going to mention the fact that Alex and Greg tenderly holding hands at 11:15 is the sweetest thing ever?
They were worried about they cat
Yea I was about to mention that! And no one is commenting on it haha
The equivalent of a Bond villain petting his cat.
Just wait till series 6.....
You see Greg and Alex sitting side by side at 11:09. Then you see a reaction shot of Joe. The next time you see Greg and Alex at 11:13 they're now holding hands and the audience is coming down from a laugh seemingly stemmed by them holding hands. Greg even laughs to himself about it quickly.
There is clearly a joke here that ended with them holding hands, and it was definitely cut out and I'm desperate to know what it was.
That must be when Joe deadpan says that he drank old pineapple juice and shat himself and Greg says "nice story". It's driving me crazy that it isn't in here because I remember it and it really made me laugh!

I really want to go to London and watch it live once the world returns to normal!!
I love that with ZERO hesitation, ZERO communication, Greg and Alex responded to the comment of “theres definitely some sexual tension between you two” by going “oh it’s not *tension*” and “I don’t mind people seeing me tickle him!”. We love an In Sync iconic duo who laugh in the face of toxic masculinity
I see it more often than not in British comedy.
Yea, and dating back decades too. You see it in Monty Python, Fry and Laurie, etc.
It’s just typical British humour...sorry to burst your bubble (Brit here)
Im pretty sure every iconic duo has embraced it. No idea what toxic masculinity youre going on about.
I'm pretty sure many of the duos who have embraced it had at least one lgbtq+ member. I don't think it's just a British thing, I think it's queer dudes being comfortable with their friends.

I would feel bad if there was another person who got isolated with troll tasks and DIDN'T get any points for it, especially if he also had the taskmaster's name tattooed on them.
Josh did eventually get one point! I think he won the overall series too, just by one point over another two, so the comment section was all excited about how josh’s troll task got him his win.
I find it irritating that some contestants just get the chance for extra points and others are not ...
Jon was able to get 4 points or less, while the others where only able to get 0 or 1 point ...
You're gonna have to feel bad quite a lot then as there's numerous solo tasks that didn't award any points. Some didn't have any on the line in the first place (Paul Chowdry's bouncy castle, Aisling Bea's pineapple photos), while others were disqualified or lost (Mark Watson's texts, Sally Phillips' fish puns)

There were so many good title opportunities in this episode. I personally would have gone with "Gaffer tape and a bossy bitch".
That's already the title of my husband's memoir.
I honestly thought Katherine was going to just stand her entire sack of potatoes on the table. That would have been a stroke of genius.

@@meerkatnip892 So are waffles. So are potatoes. So are tables. It's not very well defined what a "support" is.

"Your potato tower must be built on the table, and will be measured from the tableTOP to the highest standing potato"
I'm surprised that no one flipped the table upside down and built their tower on the bottom of the table.
I was going to say this. Basically how I look at literally every task on this show "Okay, time for the most djinn interpretation of those rules I can come up with."
It would be the same
The table didn’t have legs, it had one leg and the base was smaller than the top. So this doesn’t make sense.
@@rubyrayne8 Doesn't matter at all if the base is smaller. They're measuring from the tabletop, so if you flip the table, the tabletop is on the ground, and just a single potato placed on the base is practically guaranteed to be taller than anything built on an upright table, because now the entire height of the table is included in the measurement. You could even wait until the last few moments of the task to pull this off, so no one else would be able to copy you in time.
It would obviously get some pushback, but if you argue the exact wording of the task well enough, I'd say it's worth trying.

I love Katherine's little "thank You" after the pineapple task
The first task involving Patatas in the tree reminds me of a story book called Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. Of a boy named Floyd who gets his kite stuck in a tree.
