same leg to peg height as the 750gs or the XR. ? same upright sitting positions ? Less weight from the XR why ?? ?
BMW along with KTM have started this upgrade thru software route where the bikes come equipped with extras already installed but can only be released through a sometimes expensive software update. Great bike nonetheless.
Yes. Very frustrating knowing the bike is capable of so much more but someone has to tick a box on a computer to release it all.
KTM maybe does that. BMW you choose your options when you order the bike - if you pay for quickshifter and they install it, same with cruise control, ESA and the rest - you need extra parts and buttons - it's not like KTM where everything comes with the bike and you have to pay to unlock it through software cause that sucks, I agree...
why the R vs. xr as they are the same price here ? seat; height; sitting possition; 2 up riding. differences. ?
That little fly screen is weird but the base model has nothing there at all, which looks way worse. At least the one you have has the "placeholder" if you want a bigger screen, the bracket is already there. Also, the button with the exclamation mark is to turn off traction control.

Note: if you are planning on getting all of the technology on it, (like I am) it's about 12k.

Yes. It’s not a nice looking feature of this bike. Far to many bikes looks ruined by Euro regs.
As always depends on the taste - I am not planning on changing it on my F900R exactly because I like the look of it.
@@grimeybikertest rode one today,loved it and ordered one. Exhaust sounds much better in person than on videos, really surprised. Personally I love the look of this exhaust.
@UKbiker73 the video never does the sound justice.
no interest in all that electronic stuff, don't want or need any of it, added complexity for the sake of it in my opinion, spoils an otherwise tidy looking bike

You forgot to mention your paying top dollar for a BMW motorcycle with a Chinese engine . BMW are really struggling to sell them .
They are using Chinese engines for a few of their bikes now and they are not passing the savings onto the customers. Just more profit for them 🤬
