I see everyone else putting the butter in the bottom and the dough doesn't spread evenly Glad I found your way of doing this It looks so much better

Hers looks amazing, too! But I think I like the butter at the bottom, keeps from having to do an extra step by greasing the pan first.❤

The way your version of this recipe is way better than the one I have seen, putting the butter on top is way way better thank you

Well, let me just say these butter swim biscuits came out soooo spongey, buttery and absolutely delicious! 😋
I didn't have buttermilk so I used 2 cups whole milk; I put in 1 tbsp baking powder and probably too much melted butter on top because I had to bake them longer than 15 minutes before scoring 😄
I used an 11x7 ceramic baking dish and it took appx. 30-35 minutes in total (@450 degrees) to be completely done. I'll definitely make these again. Thank you!

The best version is to make the buttermilk yourself using heavy whipping cream. Pour heavy whipping cream into a bowl and beat until the butter separates from the butter milk! Run through a cheesecloth to extract leftover buttermilk and use your fresh buttermilk to make authentic buttermilk biscuits!
It’s easy as pie, taste supreme and a lot cheaper than buying butter and buttermilk!

Yes that’s what I do too! Sometimes I freeze my buttermilk and use it later works just as good. I do the same for expired whole milk make butter and use for biscuits.

I like your version better. Others place melted butter first then try to evenly distribute dough and scoring them raw! Thanks! Look forward to eating them with a large glass of cold, very chocolatey milk! 62 year old chocoholic......don’t judge me!😂

I prefer your version, putting butter on top and scoring them halfway through baking. This 62 year old is looking forward to eating them with a large glass of cold, very chocolatey milk!♥️

Hello, I tried to make them. I don’t know what I did wrong, but the top was good, the middle was not biscuit like and the bottom was crunchy. Help

Hi denise- The bottom will be a little crunchy, I call it lacy. What size dish did you use? Sounds like they might be a little too thick. Also, they don't have a typical biscuit texture because they don't rise.
Thick of them denser, but buttery and rich.

Very disappointed that the recipe wasn't listed in the video or underneath so we don't have to go back thru to write down the ingredients as you add them & directions for baking but I do intend to try these butter biscuits. Could i use half & half instead of the buttermilk ? i'd have no use for the buttermilk after the biscuits. Thanks for the info

I live in a country where buttermilk is not a thing. Do you think I could use yogurt combined with milk?

It's a different type of biscuit. I agree, not like southern style, but they aren't supposed to be.
