Love Jo Brand... Excellent example of good British female comic and personality. Would def pay to go and see her as a "Stand Up Act" as she's been brilliant in so many occasions on the telly!!! 🎊🎊👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎉🎉
What a great woman if I ever have another psychotic episode I imagine Jo Brand holding my hand and telling me everything's gonna be alright in my chemical straightjacket. Brilliant and compassionate as usual.
Jo Brand is wonderful. It beggars belief that people still talk and treat women that way today. I was brought up to treat everyone equally and with a basic level of respect. The best bit of advice I was given by my dad was "If you wouldn't say it to your nan's face, I better not hear you saying it to anyone else". Of course I disagree with people from time to time, but I'd never resort to name calling and trying to belittle someone, no matter their gender. Thanks for posting this gem of a video.
Jo Brand doesn't hate men... She hates Fucking Idiots, Creeps, Boors and Assholes... Feminism has NOTHING TO DO with hating men. It's about respect, equality and empowerment for women. (I'd recommend her autobiographies, searingly honest and very, very funny...) xx SF
Jo is a great comic... My heart goes out to Jo for her negative experiences with men - but - 1/some of the experiences she has mentioned are not men but simply bad people - & - 2/she does not factor in how men regularly suffer by the hands of women (it is far more prevalent that one may think, we say nothing because we would not be heard) - again, I acknowledge her bad experiences...
Mozart;s sister was better than him....but when she was around 10 she was no longer allowed to perform....so she used to give Mozart her work....most dont know that it was her work.
I pulled out of Twitter because it’s as pointless as it is boring. I never thought Brand was a lesbian. Despite her spiky black hair black trousers and doc martens, she always had a voluptuous quality. And I was also surprised to discover she was a feminist. She seemed to laugh at women and men equally, and (unlike most feminists) was never nasty about men
I’m a feminist and I loved Jo Brand’s Apollo show, but after watching seven minutes of rambling without a single joke I can tell you the title ‘very funny’ is misleading
*Amazing to see how she systematically and simply recycles her whole stage routine untouched, litterally everywhere she goes and has to address an audience about anything for any corporation or any society or any charity or anything...*
Jo is one of my best and most loved comedians, She is great on Qi but I disagree with her on mock the week. Mock the week is a completely different type of comedy to jo's style, its like comparing peter kay against frankie boyle, the're both funny but for different reasons. She can't blame offensive or controversial comedy for the lack of women in comedy in general more so for the lack of women on tv shows like mock the week, if more women get into big time comedy then jo's argument would be invalid because there would be an increase in women being present on tv shows.
They only usually have 1 or 2 women on those panel shows, and it's often Jo Brand or another woman they find to make it look as if they're not just interested in men's opinion

It is BBC policy to have at least one woman on a panel show.
