- The scene of Major Briggs sharing his vision with his son in Season 2: Episode 1 is my favourite from the series.
Here is Dana Ashbrook recalling memories of filming it with Don S Davis at the Twin Peaks UK Festival 2018
Dana was unbelievable in this scene.
The scene felt so out of nowhere but was so moving and genuine. Lynch’s dark and deeply abstract vision with Marks straight forward and often wholesome approach created such a masterpiece
That’s a great scene that really defines both characters for me.
That scene always makes me shed a tear. Unbelievable writing.
Wow, one of my favourite scenes of Twin Peaks. I always cry watching it. Such an amazing thing to hear the information about how they shot it and what happened.. wow.
Can't tell but it seems like Dana is holding some emotions in by the end. He clearly feels a debt to a fellow actor who is now passed.
Granted it's more through his time as General Hammond than as the Major, but Don could absolutely make me cry and change my whole life talking to me like that.
O'Neill: Sir let me get this straight. You want us to find a place called The White Lodge?
That is my favorite scene and knowing how it was achieved it so special. I didn't know Mark Frost was such a writer; always had assumed in was Lynch.
Dana Ashbrook is a class act for telling this story 😭 I LOVED him in The Return 😭😭😭
Wonderful insight. Thanks for sharing
Dana is starting to look a bit like David Lynch... would be nice if he played him in a biography lol
now i want a biopic with all of Lynch's actors playing him! Laura Dern would be incredible
I love how he looked weirded out at first during the scene.
I love father and son scene ❤️
Twin Peaks had a sincerity that is so sorely lacking in modern media. Everything now is buried under layers of cynicism and irony because everything needs to have an edge. Twin Peaks had an edge, but also allowed its characters to be vulnerable and real. Bobby's teenage cynicism was only superficial, and when modern media only has cynicism it can only ever be superficial.
This is what is so cool about Lynch, is that you get these scenes that are one of the best in all of film.
Don's beautiful voice.
The first two seasons had these touches of warmth, humanity and heart that the return sorely lacked
On purpose?
The Cherry pie scene? Dougie Jones' family rekindling?
The Return had that too.
You have to be dead inside not to feel anything at that scene between Ed and Norma
There's a really nice overlay of Major Brigg's dialogue in the film The Knight of Cups. Anyone catch that part?
AMEN!
Bravo Don Davis. Gone too soon.
*slaps table*
*snaps both hands*
"You know?"
David Lynch is a genius. So glad none of the other hack directors directed this scene or episode lol
☑️✅
Damn, Dana is daddy AF.
