I love the shell with the fuse and shot, what an awesome find! Thanks for the advice on cleaning, the pieces looked great! The bullets cleaned up beautifully also. Thanks, Britain!
A very interesting video, I've never come across a video that shows how the fines are cleaned it's usually before and after thanks from a old English follower 👍🇬🇧
Awesome find on the shell nose and fuse. Nothing like that in my area on the West Coast I bought a 5 gallon bucket of feed molasses and mixing it with water, 1 part molasses to 3 water and letting the metal soak for 3 wks to a month really works. Biogradiable and it can really stink. But the critters stay out of it. Also great on car parts. Won't remove the original paint either. There is a UA-cam video of a chap in Australia who uses it for auto parts cleaning for restoration; and I found out about a company in California that uses a swimming pool full to dip entire car bodies into.
Wow that was a lot of fired bullets y'all found. I'm like the others here; I think the best find was the shell with the fuse and shot still inside. Great video guys 👍
I saw you with nuggetnoggin so I came on over to watch a couple of your videos this is actually the first I'm going to check out a few more LOL probably going to subscribe love that shell with the fuse still in it that was awesome take care see you at the next hunt
I was in the woods a sultury GA today! found my first relic!!! a mini cannon ball thingy! don't even know the name, a buckle was found on property, with an All Pro Tiller for the garden. no detector! like the buckle u show in the beginning. not by me unfortunately
I use the same product for my artillery fragments/relics, and use the wire brush (bench grinder), hand held wire brushes and various small hammers before and after treatment, but I can't seem to clean out dirt from the less accessible areas. Any ideas on how address this problem?
Once you have used that rust remover how do you get rid of the stuff afterwards? Sounds like HAZMAT . Your mix of dish soap and ammonia seems safer for you and the Earth.

May I ask what county you are in? I'm just curious if there is any promising areas in the Effingham county Georgia for civil war artifacts

It's easier to find a virgin these days than it is virgin civil war dirt! Great job guys!! Oh, and this site is located where? Lol
Nice video, thank you. Jay has the same hunting bag as I do. Have you got the secret Velcro pouch on the backside?

Where are y’all hunting at What County?
Long time no see
The I have tried that Rust Bath and it didn't do well at all....I had to leave the rusted frags in it for several days and it just didn't work
So did you actually do electrolysis on those pieces Britain, or just the rust remover bath???
Just rust remover bath, then I used a wire brush and then gemplers rust converter
@@depthsofhistory nice, I'll try it on my pieces. Seems easier and safer than electrolysis.
Where is this?Do you need to ask the owner?
We got written permission from the landowner
Indonesia detecting🙋🙋🙋
Plus the chemicals from the other, probably isn't good for the environment. Since your dumping into the ground.
