Civil War Railroad Search

- Today we venture out and search a river for relics and other artifacts of our American history. I hoped to metal detect at a railroad bridge in the hills of West Virginia but upon working my way downstream I realized that the was a huge logjam blocking much of the area I wanted to search. Then I heard loud angry men yelling and cursing at each other just below the bridge, so decided to call it a day and scoot out of range of them before I heard the banjos fireup.
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure,
metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my UA-cam "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

Out and about searching an old railroad river crossing. Fun little adventure for me anyway. Tons of videos coming up, I'm finding it hard to stay inside and edit videos this time of year. I hope you understand.

Love ya CHIGG 💟💟💟
Totally understand that Chig… wish I could say the same. Terribly hot, humid and buggy here.
Chigg, what happened to the video you said you were going to show us where you found 2 silver half dollars, along with a bunch of other cool artifacts? You’re probably still editing it, based on your above comments about it being hard to stay in the house right now! 🙏👍🏼
Are you going back to the spot to water hunt from this past early spring video where you was finding all the arrowheads at
Do you have any shirts, hats or cups w crossed metal detector n shovel that reads, 'Can You Dig It?'
:-))
First, remember chigg we love bullets
Aquachigger I found a buckle like the one you found, searched it for years. After around 25 years a man told me, it is a British shoe buckle, he had one just like it! Nothing like your videos, on a rainy day! God Bless, (Glen). WV.
I'm addicted to these videos!!
Never stop doing what you do Aquachigger
The large flange type nut that you were looking at is a kitchen sink drain retainer nut that goes to a sink. The strange flange thing just after that is an intake and exhaust bridge retainer that goes on a earlier 6 cylinder motor. It is used as a washer/bridge with a nut. Usually a 3/8 hole used with a stud instead of a bolt.
Ford 50-60’s y block V8 also had them on the intake. Think T-Bird 312
Ahh u beat me 2 it lol.
I disagree. Its a crock spigot not an exhaust part. First finger and index on either side of te upper tube; press the button with your thumb and liquid drains out of the lower tube. Nuts and gasketed through a hole in the side of a water crock.
How do U hold your breath for so long when filming under water?
?
Awesome hunt and very timely. I'm heading to a river site tomorrow to detect under a railroad trestle from the Civil War era. Now I am pumped to go, hunt, and put out a video!
I don’t like hanging around drunk mad people either! Cool video thanks!
Hey Chigg, that second item you dug up is a stopper for a tub. It an American Standard stopper for a waste and overflow from early 50s. Never thought I would see one along a creek...lol
Love you MR CHigg always make my day 😁😁😁💟
Duuuude!!! That carbine sling buckle is pretty cool.
This is actually the most interesting content around because with any other video i would just skip half way and go on to the next video lmao i havent done that here and its just so entertaining watching you find cool things Dude your awsome!😌✨💖
I agree
Giv em what for Chigg.
Thanx Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE
Love creek walking 🚶♂️
Amazing how one’s eyes can be fooled! At 8:48 I just knew that was an old box or crescent wrench 🔧 in the rocks, but watching frame by frame I see it’s just rocks - crazy! Fun video, thanks for taking us along. Always look forward to these. Best wishes, Chris
Aquachigger dang your so blessed having history right on your door im a big fan of your channel keep up great content greetings from uk 🍀👍🦊🐾
I absolutely love this channels theme song! Definitely look forward to new video notifications. Great job. This is so much fun my friend. Thanks!
Enjoy watching you a lot
Looks like they fought with everything but the kitchen sink!🤣
Love the videos you make. Somehow I always want to be out there with you as there is lots of history to be found there.
Thanks once again Chigg 👍
A nice adventure chigg
That brass item is a drain stopper for and old tub.
Wow just finished watching last video and already another thanks man,, we're waving at ya chigg
Just another awesome video !! Thank you for bringing us along. Almost looks like your around Northern Virginia around North Anna ?? The vis on the creek very clear after all the rain.
One of my favorite content creators, good job sir!
Nice hunt Chigg. I love the little brass push button water spout. I remember those on glass and metal water canisters. There was usually a paper cup dispenser with flat cone-shaped cups.
A fancy lad you say, haha! Cool man! :-)
Fav channel right now
A couple of nice finds on this adventure Chigg!!! Happy hunting and be well
Interesting video. Thank you.
That brass valve looked like the hilt of a sword at first. That camera is as clear as day underwater.Congrats on the finds!!Thanks again
Fancy lads buckles and Wicky- Wocky end bits! This installment has it all!
Oboy a Genuine AQUAGHIGGER ADVENTURE!!!; )
some really interesting rocks, all smoothed and different colors
What a wonderful location to hunt! Thanks for sharing :). -Ro
Oh my goodness! One of your videos popped up on my recommended list and got my attention so I watched it. Now I can't get enough of your adventures. I love exploring with you. Hands down THEE BEST I have seen yet. Thank you so much for sharing them with us 😁. Oh, and I am now a subscriber 😅😊
I don't blame you. I would have left, too. OI enjoy your videos. Thank you for them. Stay safe. God bless.
My first time watching your channel. Not first time watching historical metal detecting in water.
First time watching clear underwater video. And nice for the water current clearing out areas your digging in.
No accident I’m sure.
Nice content, from a new subscriber. Thanks👍
Chigg, that looked like a sink drain plug. LOL!
That was really fun (& interesting) to watch; great job!🤓🇺🇸
I love your video. It's like an adventure.
I'd like to see more under water stuff that pretty cool when you find older item. Cool video
Awesome!
Love watching "The Chigg" here at 3 o'clock in the morning...
That log dam-thingy was crazy!
Love the hunt !
Before watching metal detecting videos I had no clue how much trash there is just everywhere. I'll probably never go barefoot again.
Exactly! And why is it that there is a history of throwing trash in otherwise clean waterway?
Ha! Imagine running into those two “yellers” out in the middle of your Nevada expedition. Keep it safe!
This was so much fun. Thanks for this
Chigg, I have copd and everytime you say hold your breath, I have to use my puffer to help me breath again, lol I'll be alright.
Keep on sharing the lost history you find, we love it.
HOLD YOUR BREATH. 🥵😵
lol... Thanks.
Good vid. One of the best youtubers on Here. Thanks for the vids.
Checking out your older videos. 😊
Will chigger enjoyed this video glad to see you again on the water 👍
Cool finds for sure Beau
Excellent
The 2nd thing is a drain plug for cast iron bath tub. Cool stuff dude thanks for sharing.
I was really wanting to hear you say hold your breath but it didn't happen 🤣❤️💛💚👍
Beautiful place 🥰
the brass piece with linkage was a tub drain stopper. the 2" nut looked like a shower drain hold down nut, great video
Great philosophy to live by Chigg. I generally don't like to be around drunk people at all, especially around water though.
Sweet hunt Beau. 👍
the doo dad thing at the 13:00 mark is a piece off of a 6 cly engine. it helps hold the exhaust manifold to the block.
That one small price looks like a rocker for a valve on a vehicle engine . Love your videos!! Thank you
It's not a rocker. It's a manifold clamp from a four or six cylinder inline engine.
@@gabbyhaze5857 oh! Thank you!!
@@gabbyhaze5857 I agree. GM
I agree Chigg, steer clear of the angry, loud and foul talking strangers....safer that a way! And sure was quite the pile up on that river! Mike in sunny Florida
Good finds
Hey Chigg at 7:43 I recognize that artifact that u pulled out my grandfather had a couple old milk cans that he converted in 1921 to water cans when he worked in the oilfields and that is the water spigot. That is a very cool find
How the heck does he find locations of small skirmishes that occurred during the Civil War??
The first unidentified item looks like a spigot from an antique barrel. Like the round igloo coolers you fill with drink. The second unidentified item looks like a rocker off of a motor. They are on top of the heads. What a cool video enjoyed watching thanks!
Sweet ringer!
nice one again greetings from bavaria
I belive that first thing you found was a sink drain stopper. Love your videos chig
That train has a very nice First gen K5LA horn.
Little squeezers and little doo-dads. It had the potential. Sorry about the debris, and the two legged kind. Regardless, nice adventure and we appreciate it. Woodrow, from the trailer next door says hi.
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
lol is wicky wocky a technical term. I just love the river hunts
that large white metal nut you found (right before the electrical wire) fastens conduit to junction boxes.
I've been desperately scouring the internet to find out what a 'whickey whockey' is! lol!
Fancy boy...lol
LOL .. was that creek called plumber creel. That early find was a sink drain plug/stopper, the big flange nut looked like sink strainer nut that hold the strainer in the sink, then that metal oblong metal part some cars back in the day used such hardware for the exhaust and or intake manifolds to bridge the casting and clamp them to the head. But enjoyed the day in the creek with you.
Interesting place!
Naisss Vidio friend 😃👍
That Brass fixture at 7:30 is the spigot off the crock from a Bottled water dispenser. The old "Water Cooler"! See the push button in the end of it ?! The threaded part of it with the nuts, is the bulkhead fitting from where it goes through the wall of the crock.
Nice buckle!
That heavy brass piece is a push button spigot for a large water crock. If cleaned up thats worth a few bucks, lots of crocks missing those......
Thanks Chig
Mi piacciono questi video
13:10, part of retainer for exhaust/intake manifold on engine, for example a 216 Chevy.
13:00 looks to be the piece that is bolted into the side of an old Chevy straight 6 engine to tighten down the exhaust and intake manifolds.
At 9:56 where you locate the buckle if you look to your 7 o’clock there appears to be another buckle right below it.
at around 7:40 it looks like a water tap dispenser (button push to get water) from a container???
Dropped bullet was a relief. Always fingers crossed with new detecting sites. 👍👍
Nice large buckle.
I'm seeing numerous celtiform tools on the stream bank that natives have made Beau.
7:38
thats a little spout, maybe for buckets or as a drinking fountain, you can see the little button on the top
The brass valve looks like the spout off a water fountain
13:00 it's an internal piece to an engine, goes with the lifters, push rods, valve springs
sink drain stopper, old water fountain spout.
Do you choose what side of a stream/ river to look due to which way the weather comes into that area helping erosion? 🤔🤔🤔
7:45 Thats a push button spigot like from a beverage dispenser! I'd keep it, i love bulkhead fittings.
