Well I mean u can’t blame the balance team too much. Bringing in the brand new mechanics flipped the game on its head. Now it’s mostly about fine tuning all the changes made to each character
i was having a blast with chipp at the end of season 2, and then going into this season, once i got my claws on wild assault, and really felt what it could do, i knew that chipp had to be exceptionally strong. wild assault wall break is a "shake my hands" win condition with positive bonus loops, and even outside of that, getting truly good confirms off of further hits of f.S or 5H or 2D is super nice, AND, if for some reason you aren't getting a wall splat with a combo, you can get a hard knockdown in so many more situations with wild assault, and that WA knockdown lets you get chipp's c.S otg j.S left/right, which is also Really Nice. the buff to j.236K doesnt suddenly turn air alpha into an Amazing Mixup Tool, but with the way chipp can bully people and Fill The Mental Stack, having a faster crossup is brutal at times, and Obnoxious As Hell, which is also great for mental stack abuse. 6K is a pretty good meaty now too, being able to be timed to beat reversals, so ive been enjoying it a lot. and the biggest nerf to chipp, the rekka ch change, matters soooo much less for chipp than other characters who got hit by the ch change because of how chipp can still get absurd reward off of rekka kara super, regardless of the hit. its hard to react to but its definitely doable. dont let anyone downplay chipp, this character is cheap as fuck and i love it!!
Your tier placement of Testament suprised me, but the ressoning didn't exactly shock me. After playing Testament for a while, they feel solid, but for a lack of better words, they didn't have something ridiculous like most of the characters above them.
I see people angry about Nago HC and Ram all the time, but the only problem child really is Nago. HC and Ram just takes knowledge and patience to beat. Nago, no matter how smart or patient you are, wins any engagement where you’re both mid range. If he couldn’t kill with his normals off of chip, it would be less of an issue, but beating a Nago at a similar skill level with any mid to close range character requires your best for at a minimum of 2 rounds, maximum of 9 rounds, and even then, playing at your best might not be enough, as you might simply just not get enough tension to FD
okay, i believe the best characters are happy chaos and ram, and i believe ram might be the strongest since she can convert from midrange with wild assault whereas before she couldn't really. she was already pretty stupid with positive bonus and they made positive bonus even more stupid this patch so yeah, she crazy. happy chaos is just happy chaos. the system changes don't affect him in a negative way and since he can convert off anything he doesn't need to burn burst meter or anything to convert from a normal. the wall stick giving meter is neat, but unless your character can actively contest happy chaos after you burst, he's still not in a terrible position or anything. plus all the craziness that comes with positive bonus helps him even more. that's before watching the video.
The intention wasn't to buff or nerf nago i think. It was to bring him in line with the other metered characters. Asuka, Sin, Happy Chaos all have to actively manage their meter and they all have absolutely dumb high low games that were also safe on block either by being + as crap or pushes them away requiring IB to punish. While I think Axl is definitely stronger this patch, I think most the cast having access to better rush down and conversion (and higher damage + access to positive cause of it) due to buffs and universal mechanics hurts Axl, sorta how you mention Baiken being hurt by other characters getting stronger. Especially when his better matchups against the heavyweight characters now feel more even due to white wild assault (this is especially apparent on Nago). Full screen burst is also pretty harsh to him, since any correct prediction from full screen or 3/4ths of the screen can be bursted and the enemy can run in on you before you have much time to react, rewarding the enemy by skipping your neutral because they pressed burst. With how easy it is to access positive bonus through GB and conversion improvement too, Axl has to deal with characters at their best much faster than he did before, which can turn a lot of matchups on their head. Hes definitely still A tier, but I cant see him being better than the start of B tier either.

I just instantly experience so much negative emotion when HC is on the other side of my screen that it's not worth booting this game up anymore :( I would love this game if HC wasn't in it, but I don't want to play it with him as top 1 for the millionth patch.
you can literally chose who you play with lmao hes not annoying to play against if you just don't play against him
that's not how tournament brackets work. When some to's start hosting HC-banned events, I'll be there for it doe :) @@FuzionOki
omg, go have a cry, he’s literally not even that bad. Just pick up a super fast characters like Chipp and he can’t zone.
Same. Agreed. You got some stupid replies btw.
Baiken players having to finesse more this season 😫
ceotaku top 64 says otherwise
@@AnimeRoyal_25all finesse
@@nirvana1986 no ram in top 64, 5 baikens or so, baiken > ram, which means Ram takes finesse and not baiken.
What else can we do? We take what we have and work with it in the end.
@@AnimeRoyal_25 yes let's use one early tourney as an indicator of power this definitely didn't just happen with SF6 Ceo top 8 (:

Blitzcrank is rated too high here, stop upplaying him streamer.
The Testament downplay is actually insane ngl. This has to be a major case of just underrepresentation.
Testament has WA combos which apply stain which can be used to further the combo or for mix. Test buttons are pretty good and they have some pretty comtrolled neutral. Feels weird to consider them a light threat.
no more upplay esp if ur not going to play them three buffs and years of upplaying for a bottom 3 chara thx ~
