NATIONAL SLATE MUSEUM IN NORTH WALES (4K)

- The slate industry dominated the economy of northwest Wales during the second half of the 19th century, but has slowed down considerably since the 1970's. Our excellent guide, Carl Mather, gave us a tour of the National Slate Museum in Llanberis, Wales. Given his knowledge, you'd think he was a tour guide at the museum but he was actually giving us a full day tour of North Wales and he works for a company called Celticos. The tour of the quarry and workshops was really interesting because this was an industry I knew nothing about. The first half of the video we are guided by Carl and the second half of the video we see a slate splitting demonstration.
