The music is one of my favourite parts of the season too! Hope future seasons are this good music-wise. I don't listen to much of the Sonic soundtracks but I've been listening to lots of Omori music lately and the melody of this song definitely sounds like something off Omori's OST. The sort of nostalgic feel reminds me of the same sort of feeling from tracks like Bargain Bin Boys.
Putting this track on loop for hours was a choice I happen to agree with. Thanks! I am looking forward to starting this thing sometime when I have to do a simple, repetitive job and then being amused when I absolutely crush the task XD
