We only had bread and milk for breakfast at my Catholic boarding school but on the feast of St Nicholas, we had a slab of chocolate with our bread. I remember it as being one of the most exciting days!
Santa Claus is coming to town on December yayyyyhahahayyyYAYHAHAHAYYYY😀😀😀I'm Excited I can't wait it's gonna be great then December 2023 YayHaHaHaYYYyyy YayHaHaHaYYYyyy!!!!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀💥
Saint Nicholas, even in his guise of Santa Claus, is an icon (I use the word broadly) of a cheerful giver, which St Paul tells us God loves. We should all aspire to be the same.

In Greece according to our folk tradition, although I do not know how recent this tradition is, we have Saint Vasileios as Santa Claus. We say Άγιος Βασίλης. He comes during new year's eve, not Chistmas. And during new years eve we make a sweet, a sort of cake that is called vasilopita and put a coin inide, and whomever finds the coin in his piece of the cake has luck.
We will do an episode about Saint Basil next year! It is an old Greek tradition. The vasilopita may actually be the origin of the English plum pudding tradition at Christmas!
On a side note: what do you think about the contemporary “Santa Claus” tradition as it is practiced today? I have two young daughters, and my wife and I are fairly certain that we are not going to tell them that Santa brought them presents on the grounds of not wishing to lie to them, but I’d be interested in hearing everyone else’s thoughts here. God bless! 🙏🏻☦️🎄
My wife and I still practice the contemporary Santa tradition but have talked about Saint Nicholas to our children and mentioned that the contemporary Santa Claus is simply trying to keeping up with the giving tradition that Saint Nicholas has reminded us all to do.
Our family ignored the Santa Claus/Father Christmas thing. We focused on Christ's birth, the 2nd Coming; gave gifts to each other @ Chrissy, told the kids not to let on to their friends that "Santa Claus" didn't exist. We made a big deal of St Nicholas Day. I'm 1/2 German & in Germany kids get their gifts on 6Dec, not 25th. On St Nicholas Eve the kids put their shoes outside their bedroom doors: bad kids got a lump of coal (theoretically 😆), good kids got a little bag of lollies/choc/home- made St Nicholas shaped gingerbread (Spekulaas). We wanted to keep the authentic Christian focus, not getting involved in fairyland Santa elves etc. God bless you & your family. Nicola❤️🙏
You and your wife can explain to your daughters that Santa Clause is not a real person, but a symbol of the generosity of the Christmas season. I hope it helps. 🎄❤🎅❄
he comes, he comes! the sweet, good saint! my best friend, your best friend the friend of every child! my heart beats my little heart beats so happy what is he bringing you? what is he bringing me? what is he bringing you and me? its a feast every year, my shoe has already been placed! he comes, he comes ...

Probably because it's an anagram, which means nothing. After all an anagram of God is ..... Dog. Plus Satan would never be as kind, humble and generous as St Nicholas was.
Hmmm. The “real” Father Christmas for the Orthodox Christians is in fact…Saint Basil. St Nicholas is a December saint but was never celebrated in the Eastern church as the equivalent of “Fr Christmas”….
Love your video's brother in Christ. But to be honest with you, this is the only video I have seen of you till now, that disappointed me a little bit. It would be really interesting if you have said something about his time in prison when Christian's were persecuted for their beliefs and also about his encounter with Arius... Maybe you kept that for a part 2, who knows 😉 Aside from my criticism, you are doing are very well job. Keep on making these vids and God bless you
have another story about saint nikolaj he attended the ecumenical councils and got into a debate with arius saint nikolaj got angry ran across the floor and struck arius possibly punching or hitting or slapping or some other form of stricking he was imprisoned then they discovered nikolaj was right we was pardoned and set free by the emperor constantine equal to the apostles i think it was of course he was sorry for having punched arius in the face

Pray for us St Nicholas that we might be humble and generous as you have modeled for us.
The very first time I walked into and Orthodox Church was on this blessed feast of St. Nicholas. Please pray for us! ☦️
Thank you sooo much for publishing this great content!!! I am teaching my kids now, thank you thank you, thank you!!!!

St. Nicholas day is on the 6th of december in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Believe it or not they are people out there who claim Santa is based on Satan
I'm not surprised about that . The media has distorted St Nicholas legend for decades and St Valentine's legend too .
Probably because it's an anagram, which means nothing. After all an anagram of God is ..... Dog.

Saint Basil episode comes out end of January!
Saint Nicholas*
So what does this have to do with elves? I think the magic mushroom theory is better. 🍄
Get on Gab!😍
The real Santa Claus is based.
