    St. Basil the Great's On the Holy Spirit was a great resource for me to begin to understand the Holy Trinity as I was coming from an Ex-Muslim background.

    I am not trying to comment too much on youtube but needed to say thank you so much! I feel this video and your video on St. Athanasius were just what I needed to hear. What saints like St. Paul, St. Athanasius, St. Basil, and St. Pope Kyrillos VI did for Christianity is so inspiring. Through the intercessions of the Holy Theotokos St. Mary, may the Holy Spirit continue transfiguring His Orthodox Christians.

    Fascinating, I didn't know about his life! Would also love it if you made videos on early Christian theologians such as Tertullian and Origen, apart from the Church Fathers.

    • @CashFreedman
      @CashFreedman 4 місяці тому +4

      Unfortunately Origen was anathematized so it's very unlikely there'll be a video about him.

    • @NavelOrangeGazer
      @NavelOrangeGazer 4 місяці тому +1

      @@CashFreedman Origen's platonizing was/is a serious cause of issues to the Church. In fact the original concept of a philokalia was created by St. Basil and St. Gregory of Nyssa separating the wheat from the chaff of his writings.

    You must, must, must do a video on Basil's younger brother, St. Gregory of Nyssa (The Father of the Fathers). I know, I know... there will be apprehension and caution because St. Gregory was undeniably a universalist (and correct about it, frankly), but he's without a doubt one of the most towering intellects in our tradition's history and one whose righteousness and bravery before the fallen logic of the age may rival even his older brothers as it was he who delivered history's first abolitionist sermon against the backdrop of St. Basil's more pragmatic approach (treat them with love and pastoral care, etc., but not to free them).
    The Cappadocians each deserve an episode, honestly, and I'm glad you started with St. Macrina, who was very much St. Gregory's teacher.

    I'm noticing in your videos that there have been saints that have created incredibly important inventions, such as the calendar we use today. Could you make a video that lists them? They don't have to necessarily be reserved to saints.

    Telling what Basil did, encouraging others to broaden their minds, its good.
    Ill pull on a biblical verse where it says, "We are not unaware of the devices of the Devil". Talk to many ask about this, oh they know, they know. Some may. But, being aware rationalization is used to attack some, others fear, etc. We need to note, Jesus was talking to apostles if I recall. Where they knew. Today its more advanced.
