What kind of tape was it? Hard to imagine regular duct tape surviving an exposed winter. Also, did the middle being slightly lower cause you any noticeable problems? Thanks.

Do you remember how many sheets you used?

You can use Google to find a perimeter calculator. I have a 16 foot pool which is 202sq ft, 6 sheets is 196 so I used 7 sheets of 1inch. HTH.

They sell it at Home Depot. It's kind of pricey so I'm going to use the R-tech brand. It comes in 4x8 sheets & you can choose 1/2 inch or 1 inch thick. My friend did it & said it helped keep the heat in her pool. I'm about to give it a try bc the sand we installed 4 years ago is now lumpy.

Wouldn't the foam make it soft on the pool bottom? Like make it easier to Puncture?

Did you put anything under the legs or did you put them directly on top of the foam board? I have the exact same pool as yours and my lawn is rocky and not completely even, while it is flat. My initial plan was to put down a 16 foot x 16 foot square of 1 inch foam board and then I cut a 2x6x1 piece of wood down into 16 even squares which I will trace the blocks and cut into the foam where each leg will go and place the wood blocks there to go under each leg. My only concern is the water weight weighing down the foam , causing the middle of the pool (the liner) to settle and sit closer to the ground than the legs which will be on wood.

I put my legs on bricks, and eventually plan on thicker patio blocks.
I purposely dug out the soil in the middle to get a couple inches more in the middle

I really like your deck/storage shed... do you have another video and/or pics of the pool set up with the deck and slide. Just trying to get an idea of how it all works. thanks

I was wondering if it helped with the temperature of the pool water I live in Maine and we need all the help we can get for warming the water up!

I'm in MA and it definitely helps slow the amount of heat the ground sucks away

I would just pack sand into the low spots on the dirt & tamp that down. It's a lot less work than leveling all the dirt perfectly. Did it make a difference for the temperature in the water?

    • @rowerwet

I think it helps the pool not lose heat to the soil. I'm on the MA/NH border, so keeping it warm is a big issue

hlello, do you know if the foam should be faced or unfaced? Right now i'm only able to locate Dow brand. However dow seems to be faced and think your is unfaced. Do you know if both will work or if one is better than other?

It's really too thin to be much use compared to 2" foam
