Hello. What does the last image mean of the white rocks with the red "X"? Is that white limestone? And an example of an acid washed rock not to use? We were considering it for a french drain around our pool. Thanks.

After digging the grass out, Do you recommend adding any 1/4 down and stamping it down before adding the sand base?

Is it wrong to just dump stone dust on top of the grass and level as best as possible, without digging the grass up?

Yes, that is the wrong way to proceed with an above-ground pool installation. Grass will then rot away and cause sinking issues going forward.

Did you ever find out if you needed fine gravel?

@@Sol3Chris I would not use any gravel. Sharp rocks will cut the liner. The sand needs to be a smooth aggregate type such as mortar sand

3" solid inches compacted and another 4" compacted cove against the wall.

Why do you need stones on the outer side of the pool?

To help keep out extra moisture so there’s no rust :) and a plus is it looks nice lol

Drainage and typically the foot traffic surrounding the area can turn grassy area to mush and eventually grass dies. Also chemicals added to pool water maintenance can compromise grass. U get splash out , floats go over & need to be retrieved also minimize contamination back in to pool. Be sure to have a barrier between liner and surrounding hardscape. Rocks can migrate over time and cause pin hole leaks
