I would LOVE that. probably a more cartoonish version, but omfg I WANT IT!!!!! Imagine the different weapons they would have, kiddish but fun to use! especially if they have multiple weapon choices. like luigi could use a hammer or vacuum cleaner, mayne some weapons have power ups with them, etc etc.
Megan Henderson In my opinion... I don’t think that a Mushroom Kingdom Warriors game would be a good fit, maybe throw some special moves in a 3D Mario games, but not a full on Hack-n-Slash Mario game.
Product provided by Nintendo. I have to say that, or they will get really mad at me. I just realized Arlo has a Brooklyn accent I can’t believe it took that long
Tommy Ruggeri actually there is a law I think that enforces that UA-camrs must disclose these kind of things. There's a MatPat video about this, look for "emoji movie is illegal" video for more detail
Arlo backwards is olrA Olra Ol + Ra = olra Ol + i + ra = Olira I is the ninth letter of the alphabet Olira - r = Olia Oli + m + a = Olima M is the 13th letter of the alphabet Olima + r = Olimar R is the 18th letter of the alphabet Arlo backwards + all of the previous equations = Olimar 9 + 13 + 18 = 40 If you take out the zero in 40 it = 4 PIKMIN 4 WITH ARLO AS CAPTAIN OLIMAR CONFIRMED???
WHAT? Nintendo PROVIDED a review copy for you? You said it yourself that you doubted that they would ever give you any in Haedox's video on that same topic (Due to your critical analysis of their games and decisions as a company). Congrats man. I'm happy for you.
Honestly I love the fact that with each new mission it pauses. It can give you a breather, and unlike hyrule warriors, you can process what goes on instead of it just flashing across the screen for a second.
Arlo there is an option to turn off all of the mid-game pauses. You can disable the Level-Up Windows and Mission Confirmation Windows in the Game Settings. To allow for a more streamlined experience.
The mission and level up screens's pauses can be deactivated in the options menu. You probably picked slow and steady at the start of the game, and that activates all the pauses.
8:41 You've undoubtedly been told this already Arlo, but there are options in the settings to turn off "gameplay stopping" pop-ups during matches in the Settings | Gameplay menu. Changing them to "off" was literally the first thing I did before even starting the actual game because I knew from seeing gameplay footage I would crazy if every level-up or new mission stopped my gameplay. The game is much better with the pop-ups off, but you do have to pay attention to what is happening/ enemy re-enforcements on your own. Also, if you like moving quickly, I've fallen in love with the Mounted Units, both flying and grounded. It's crazy how quickly you can cross a map in this game.
The text windows constantly popping up is on you actually. When you play the game and do your first mission, it asks you if you want to play an efficient mode or detailed mode, the difference being that on efficient mode, mission windows and popups like that won't interupt gameplay, and if you want to read a tutorial window on a specific item, there's a button for you once you acquire it for the first time using the left joycon's 'left' arrow. Detailed mode makes it so that you cannot skip the windows for new information and missions. I'm pretty sure it provides you with that same choice across all difficulties.
Oh absolutely. Definitely one of my Favorites in the series. Though I'm curious what it would be like to have someone start with Echoes since it's fairly different from most Fire Emblem games.
Echoes isn't really a great starting point IMO. It uses slightly different mechanics not found in other games. If you wanted to start on 3DS I'd say go with Awakening.
While echoes does have its fans and a certain appeal, its a pretty bad first game for people since it is so different from the rest of the series. You could easily ruin the series for someone if they felt the series should be in that style and kinda steer from playing the series. Usually people would suggest either Fire Emblem on the GBA or Awakening if your looking for a solid starting point to understand the basics, or even fates if you want to have a rough idea of what to expect for the future of the series(at least from a gameplay stand point.)
Echoes is quite different from all the others, so it could be hard to adjust from. I also wouldn't want to start out with all those atrocious Gaiden maps. I'd say Awakening is the best way in, almost always. And if you have a Wii U, a gba, or are willing to emulate, Blazing Blade (Known simply as Fire Emblem) is a great and cheap option.
This is a really great video - thanks for sharing it. I think it's the only one I've seen so far that comes from the perspective of a player lacking familiarity with the Warriors ("Miso Soup", haha) series or the Fire Emblem series, so that's an excellent addition to the conversation.
You can turn off the constant pauses for alterts. If you switch out of Slow and Steady, it turns off the pause during level ups and mission assignments.
Arlo, you can disable the interruptions for tutorials, sub-missions and leveling up from the options. You can also change the game's performance from 1080p30fps to 720p60fps.
Arlo, I would just like to say that I appreciate your videos. I really do. As I get older and responsibilities keep stacking higher, seeing a video of yours gives me a nice gentle break from the mayhem in my life. It reminds me of a younger me and how that me got very excited and happy about games. I don't know what about your video causes it. A non-swearing puppet that genuinely loves games might have something to do with it. Please never stop being you.
Here's a little trick, Arlo: If you hold down the dodge button, you'll instantly break out into a run rather than having to build up to it. Took me a while to figure that out when I played Hyrule Warriors (and I assume it works the same here), but it was a game-changer when I did. They probably made the missions freeze the screen because, in my experience in Hyrule Warriors, you missed a crapload of stuff because it flashed on-screen while you were busy fighting - being able to read what people are saying and see what warnings and whatnot come up on screen in a Musou Soup game while playing normally is a skill that you have to develop.
8:50 Maybe it is only in the 3DS one, but you can change the settings so the popups appear small in the corner and you can hit a button to view the full dialogue, and this also makes the Mission Start thing not pause the game. At least, that was my experience. During the initial game setup there was a prompt asking what kind of gameplay you wanted, and I think I picked "smooth" or something. It also doesn't pause the game when you level up.
Two Arlo videos in two days! I never even expected Arlo to play Fire Emblem, albeit warriors. Still, what a surprise. Hope Arlo gets into Fire Emblem, its the only JRPG series that I'm a fan of.
FYI, Arlo! The pop-ups that stop the flow of action? That's due to one of the settings selected when you start the game. However, you can still go into the Settings (under the Extra menu) later on to change that.
The game pausing for every level up and mission update is an optional feature. You can turn it off in the game settings. This goes for tutorials as well. If you want to just read it all at once and turn it off forever, go to "guides" in the pause menu, and it will all be there.
The tutorial, level up, mission pop up all can be turned off in settings, and there is a place that all tutorial and character introduction can be read in the pause menu.
I'm in the same boat! I usually can't get into real time action games yet I'm addicted to this game. On hard there's plenty of strategy and I've actually screwed up several times because I wasn't focusing on everything.
You might want to check the options, Arlo. I don't know about this one, but Hyrule Warriors has an option to turn the New Mission pause on and off. And I remember hearing that you can turn off the Level Up pauses as well.
Hey Arlo, this is probably going to seem hyperbolic, but seeing a new video from my favorite blue guy snapped me out of a really bad depressive moment tonight. Thank you.
"Copyright strikes" is the completely wrong term to use. Unless you're showing a video that's talking about hacking their games and systems (which would potentially include things like fan games or Tool Assisted Speedruns), Nintendo are incredibly unlikely to issue an actual copyright strike. IE, the video being removed and restrictions being put on your entire channel for a number of months (whilst 3 strikes at once will lead to the closure of your channel). If Nintendo were really, actually prolific with doing that, many many UA-cam channels, including Arlo's wouldn't even exist. What Nintendo actually do is make heavy use of *Content ID* This identifies video using their content, be it games, music, trailers etc, and essentially claims the copyright within. They will then put their own adverts over it and claim the money from those adverts. But you don't get in any kind of 'trouble' what-so-ever. For some UA-camrs, this scenario is considered unacceptable because they are unable to make any money directly from the videos *and they will delete their own videos rather than let Nintendo claim any money from it* That's where some of the confusion/misinformation has come from. Some people think Nintendo are deleting the videos when its the UA-camrs themselves. It's worth nothing Nintendo are not the only ones to make use of Content ID in this way, they just tend to get the most attention for it in the gaming community. *Personally* I think its worth leaving the videos up anyway, as they can still attract people to your channel and if people are interested, they will watch your other videos as well. But its a matter of principle for others.
BrySkye oh okay didn't know that. It's not that bad then. Either way I still don't see why a content creator cant make money off a review he put effort into. Is there a way to revoke such a claim anyway?
Something you either didn't mention or didn't about know is that all info, submission and level up notifications can be turned off or made so they don't interrupt gameplay.
Thank you for doing a first impressions video on Fire Emblem Warriors, Arlo! As a diehard fan of both Fire Emblem and Dynasty Warriors, I love this game but because of that, I couldn't really picture how newcomers to these two series would react to this game so it makes me happy to see that you enjoyed your time with the game. I would also like to point out that concerning your gripe with all the interruptions during gameplay, you can actually disable all the guides, level ups, and mission updates in the settings! The game should really do a better job of letting players know this is an option in the first place lol.
On the point of "gameplay gets interrupted a lot": You can turn those off or on auto at which point you choose of you want to read it. The tutorial title will flash up without stopping you and if you want to read it you hit left on the dpad and it'll pause for you to read it. The mission prompts too, you can set them to flash without stopping you. This is all the stuff at the very start when you first start the game and it asks you what you want your settings to be. You must have chosen "super duper never played a video game before" mode. Go to settings and switch stuff off or to Auto. Also you can read the manual in the extras menu so you won't need the tutorial stuff
A PSA to anyone who hasn’t gotten this game yet and is thinking of getting it- there are aspects of this game’s story that could be considered spoilers for the plots of the games that the characters are from. If you haven’t played Fire Emblem Awakening, Fire Emblem Fates, or Fire Emblem Echoes yet, but want to play them, I highly recommend that you play through those games BEFORE you buy Fire Emblem Warriors, as to not spoil yourself
Actually issuing orders to troops is a classic Dynasty Warriors / Warriors Musou thing. That bit of tactical veneer is what makes the games fun. There are even "empires" versions where you have a macro empire game and then fight battles in the engine.
"I just sat there mashing them forever until they were dead". That is the dynasty warrior games summed up rather well and i wouldnt have it any other way.
In _Hyrule Warriors_ there was an option to turn off the tutorials pausing the action all the time, so hopefully you can do that in _Fire Emblem Warriors_ .
I think you should be able to turn off the mission confirm thing in the options. Other recent warriors games have this option so I can only assume this one does too.
Hey, maybe I'm a little late on this tip, but in the options you can switch from strategic to I don't know what it's called, where it pauses less often. Hope this helps.
We don't want you to be sick, Arlo! Please stay healthy, for Odyssey's sake! xD Absolutely loving this game! :3 P. S. I find it cheesy to hear Arlo saying the voice acting is cheesy! Hee hee
The game asks you at beginning weither or not you want those mission/level up pop-ups. Thankfully you can turn that off in the settings, then it'll just flash on the screen when they happen without stopping the gameplay.
On the subject of performance there is a setting to choose either higher quality graphics that are locked at 30 FPS or slightly lower that tends to stay between 55-60 FPS... I don't really care about frames but it is nice that there's an option there.
8:58 not sure if anyone type it or ye figure it out, in options, ye can turn that off. Where if it pops up again, it pop up while everything is in action.
You can turn off the notifications in the settings. Also, you have two modes. The quality mode which is 1080p 30fps and performance mode which is 720p 60fps.
We need ourselves some Mushroom Kingdom Warriors.
RandomRiot Productions animal crossing warriors
I would LOVE that. probably a more cartoonish version, but omfg I WANT IT!!!!! Imagine the different weapons they would have, kiddish but fun to use! especially if they have multiple weapon choices. like luigi could use a hammer or vacuum cleaner, mayne some weapons have power ups with them, etc etc.
Megan Henderson In my opinion... I don’t think that a Mushroom Kingdom Warriors game would be a good fit, maybe throw some special moves in a 3D Mario games, but not a full on Hack-n-Slash Mario game.
A smash warriors would be better.
Popstar Warriors. I want to see Daroach again, please.
Product provided by Nintendo. I have to say that, or they will get really mad at me.
I just realized Arlo has a Brooklyn accent I can’t believe it took that long
Koala Jones Or any actual Spyro game for that matter.
Plot twist: Arlo is Mario's housemate.
Wait what?
Yet he lives in California.
Tommy Ruggeri actually there is a law I think that enforces that UA-camrs must disclose these kind of things. There's a MatPat video about this, look for "emoji movie is illegal" video for more detail
"All the magical woosh-woosh killing guys with your sword"
- Arlo, 2017
I feel like non-fire emblem fans enjoy this more than fire emblem fans.
Lucky C4t I agree
Too bad those people will want to buy mario more
Only fire emblem game I’ve played was heroes and I’m loving this, never played any warriors game either
Lucky C4t i thinks that's pretty accurate
Think that has a lot to do with the roster choice. The game feels very exclusive to those who played the GBA and GC and Wii titles
Wow. I'm so used to hearing Arlo sick that when I hear him not sick it sounds like he's sick.
You can turn the guides, mission pop ups, and level ups off in the settings
The mission and level up confirmations can be turned off in the settings
I never expected Arlo to make a Fire Emblem video. Nice
True
BenBen Gaming oh hey Ben
Arlo backwards is olrA
Olra
Ol + Ra = olra
Ol + i + ra = Olira
I is the ninth letter of the alphabet
Olira - r = Olia
Oli + m + a = Olima
M is the 13th letter of the alphabet
Olima + r = Olimar
R is the 18th letter of the alphabet
Arlo backwards + all of the previous equations = Olimar
9 + 13 + 18 = 40
If you take out the zero in 40 it = 4
PIKMIN 4 WITH ARLO AS CAPTAIN OLIMAR CONFIRMED???
Upside Down Watermelon sure
The 0 in 40 stands for 0% of that happening, can't just erase it dude
orla? oral confrimed!
Yes definitely
I would tell you to run, but Nintendo’s ninjas will kill you all the same. I suggest you make your goodbyes.
This is why we oppress the intellectuals.
TWO ARLO VIDEOS IN TWO DAYS? I am happy
You know Arlo wishes that he recieved a copy of Odyssey instead.
Scyanex he might in a few days, but yeah
tbh free game is free game.
plus what if he gets both, it just makes him go even more ape crazy and saves him $60
Flying Level It's a joke based on his previous video
He deserves it more than some other reviewers
4th edge member 75 ya
Now I just need Waluigi Warriors.
Yo as a note, you can turn off all of the game stopping notifications in the settings, including tutorials and mission notifications.
You gotta play awakening, man.
...That being said... ARLO PLUS FIRE EMBLEM?!? THE DAY HAS FINALLY COME!
So nice to hear a review of someone just enjoying the game for what it is without all the roster controversy :) it’s really fun.
This isn't the first game nintendo gave you, you got 1-2 Switch before
Yeah, when we getting a 1st Impre2Switchins video?!
That was a joke in the Mario Odyssey vid yesterday. In one of his videos before the Switch launch he said he got it from Amazon
MrGuy
The joke
You
fuck
MrGuy eh, humor is hard to pick up from text alone. I just assume everyone is joking if it doesn't sound right to me.
More from arlo? Where’s that patreon...I need to do some donatin’
Two videos in one week? I am so happy! Thank you Arlo!!!
WHAT? Nintendo PROVIDED a review copy for you? You said it yourself that you doubted that they would ever give you any in Haedox's video on that same topic (Due to your critical analysis of their games and decisions as a company). Congrats man. I'm happy for you.
2 videos in one day? First Gamexplain, now Arlo!
EPM 101 And its Arlo! 10x better than GameExplain.
Devilcraft 42 Apples to Oranges.
EPM 101 my boi more like apples to Broccoli

The mission and level up screens's pauses can be deactivated in the options menu. You probably picked slow and steady at the start of the game, and that activates all the pauses.
There is a setting to make it so most things dont pause battles and tutorials are a lot less frequent.
There is actually an instruction manual in the settings menu, and you can set the level-ups and other interruptions to not stop the gameplay.
8:41 You've undoubtedly been told this already Arlo, but there are options in the settings to turn off "gameplay stopping" pop-ups during matches in the Settings | Gameplay menu. The text windows constantly popping up is on you actually. Detailed mode makes it so that you cannot skip the windows for new information and missions.
I'm pretty sure it provides you with that same choice across all difficulties.
They have all those as individual options in Game Settings.
I'm so happy to see how your channel has grown over time, and now Nintendo is even sending you stuff? That's exciting man! Congratulations!
I just got this game in the mail today. I can’t wait to play it later. 🙂
I honestly very like your first impressions videos. Perfect alternative if reviews videos are too long!
I think you would enjoy Fire Emblem echoes if you are looking for a way to start the series.
Oh absolutely. Definitely one of my Favorites in the series.
Though I'm curious what it would be like to have someone start with Echoes since it's fairly different from most Fire Emblem games.
Caesar Gaming YES FE Echoes is a wonderful game!
You can turn off the mission notification pauses. They'll still pop up, but it won't interrupt gameplay.
I LOVE ARLO
N8tn love the profile pic
"Someone else at my house is sick" .
I choose to believe in a spouse/kid because the world really needs mini Arlos...
Superfield You can turn off the pauses.
8:50
Maybe it is only in the 3DS one, but you can change the settings so the popups appear small in the corner and you can hit a button to view the full dialogue, and this also makes the Mission Start thing not pause the game. At least, that was my experience. During the initial game setup there was a prompt asking what kind of gameplay you wanted, and I think I picked "smooth" or something. It also doesn't pause the game when you level up.
(Btw you can turn off mission start confirmation in the settings! And by extension level up notifications! It really speeds things up.)
You can also stop most of the interruptions through settings or at the start
Have you downloaded the Japanese voice patch? The Japanese in Warriors makes this game more satisfying to play!
Blake: The Nerd Nice to have that option, but I feel when people go OHMYGODWORSTVOICEACTING CRIIIIINGE, they've never seen true shit voice acting.
2 Arlo videos in 2 days?! Amazing!!
Two Arlo videos in two days! I never even expected Arlo to play Fire Emblem, albeit warriors. Still, what a surprise.
Hope Arlo gets into Fire Emblem, its the only JRPG series that I'm a fan of.

I wasn't expecting to LOVE this game as much as I do!!
Matthew Hale stop supporting anime cancer. We want REAL games from nintendo
Burn your switch and fuck off
👀
HappySuperFace you're so happy dude!
I'm in the same boat! I usually can't get into real time action games yet I'm addicted to this game. On hard there's plenty of strategy and I've actually screwed up several times because I wasn't focusing on everything.
HappySuperFace so what’s a “real game”?
9:12 u can turn that off in the menu
You might want to check the options, Arlo. I don't know about this one, but Hyrule Warriors has an option to turn the New Mission pause on and off. And I remember hearing that you can turn off the Level Up pauses as well.
The game asked you in the beginning if you wanted all the mission messages and level ups to pause the game. You can change that in the options.
I recommend getting into fire emblem, it's amazing.
Just a tip for some of you who want to get the game : you can change the way the missions are shown on the screen so it doesn't interupt the battle
Btw, there's an option in the game where you can stop the mission prompts from pausing your game.
Hey Arlo, this is probably going to seem hyperbolic, but seeing a new video from my favorite blue guy snapped me out of a really bad depressive moment tonight. Thank you.
Arlo, you're the best man. Love your videos. I don't even own any current Nintendo systems but still subscribed.
How do you deal with copyright strikes? Others seem to have trouble with nintendo gameplay on their channel.
Anyway love your content!
Arlo is super awesome, that's how.
He isn't gaining money from the video.
Yoshi Washere oh really? But why do I get ads on this video then? It's possibe though :-).
"Copyright strikes" is the completely wrong term to use.
Unless you're showing a video that's talking about hacking their games and systems (which would potentially include things like fan games or Tool Assisted Speedruns), Nintendo are incredibly unlikely to issue an actual copyright strike.

For some UA-camrs, this scenario is considered unacceptable because they are unable to make any money directly from the videos *and they will delete their own videos rather than let Nintendo claim any money from it*

I need to start playing this game again...
Something you either didn't mention or didn't about know is that all info, submission and level up notifications can be turned off or made so they don't interrupt gameplay.
He says he’s not sick anymore but his nose still sounds a little stuffy judging by the title.
Unethical Garrogate Embpressive observation
I am so excited for this. I preordered but amazon has not gotten it to me yhet.
The new mission pop up notification can be changed so it doesn't stop the action. Just thought I would mention that.
Congratulations on getting a review copy!!!!
*thinks he misspelled impressions but slowly realizes it's emblem and impressions but as one word*
Ooooooh.
A PSA to anyone who hasn’t gotten this game yet and is thinking of getting it-
there are aspects of this game’s story that could be considered spoilers for the plots of the games that the characters are from. If you haven’t played Fire Emblem Awakening, Fire Emblem Fates, or Fire Emblem Echoes yet, but want to play them, I highly recommend that you play through those games BEFORE you buy Fire Emblem Warriors, as to not spoil yourself
Two Arlo videos in two days?! Me likey
Arlo, there's an option to turn off the pausing when a mission starts, or when characters level up
"This was a little easy---Well, I set it to easy"- Arlo.
Actually issuing orders to troops is a classic Dynasty Warriors / Warriors Musou thing. That bit of tactical veneer is what makes the games fun. There are even "empires" versions where you have a macro empire game and then fight battles in the engine.
Do you know where one could find the full version of Arlo's ending theme?
Love your videos, man! Keep it up!
Also, are you going to give your first impressions or review of Sonic Forces (if you get it)? That'd be great!
So when will you finaly do the first impressions of 1.2 switch that Nintendo sent you. Im really excited for that one.
"I just sat there mashing them forever until they were dead". That is the dynasty warrior games summed up rather well and i wouldnt have it any other way.
Wow! A product sent by Nintendo! Nice job Arlo!
You can change the mission comfirmation in the settings.
Tre Masters you can turn that off in the options along with certain HUD elements and level up screens
You did it arlo. Nintendo has acknowledged you. Your first step towards domination.
Congrats on finally getting Nintendo to notice the channel!!
You can turn off the mission interrupts and guides in the settings.
In _Hyrule Warriors_ there was an option to turn off the tutorials pausing the action all the time, so hopefully you can do that in _Fire Emblem Warriors_ .
you should jump into settings arlo. you can disable things like confirming missions, pausing for level ups and such.
I think you should be able to turn off the mission confirm thing in the options. Other recent warriors games have this option so I can only assume this one does too.
You know there's a setting for smooth combat flow that removes all of the interruptions, right?
Hey, maybe I'm a little late on this tip, but in the options you can switch from strategic to I don't know what it's called, where it pauses less often. Hope this helps.
We don't want you to be sick, Arlo! Please stay healthy, for Odyssey's sake! xD
Absolutely loving this game! :3
P. S. I find it cheesy to hear Arlo saying the voice acting is cheesy! Hee hee
Elmo will never be as great as Arlo
And no one will be as amazing as Fozzie Bear.
The game asks you at beginning weither or not you want those mission/level up pop-ups. Thankfully you can turn that off in the settings, then it'll just flash on the screen when they happen without stopping the gameplay.
At the beginning of the game they ask you if you want detail information about lvl up or not. if you choose no you will be not interrupt by it.
On the subject of performance there is a setting to choose either higher quality graphics that are locked at 30 FPS or slightly lower that tends to stay between 55-60 FPS... I don't really care about frames but it is nice that there's an option there.
When you start the game, go on fast and steady mode. I never got interrupted when fighting, even when missions popped up.
Thanks for doing a video about at least I really wanted to hear your impression on this game so I Happy thanks Arlo!
You can turn some of the mid battle pop ups off.
Arlo is my go-to nintendo youtuber
Just finished story mode and I thought it was really fun. Totally recommend this for anyone reading
Hello Arlo you kept saying you had a short time with the game how long have you had it?
