      Hoder Harris how’s your experience? I’m looking at buying the 2018 Ford Edge titanium model. Would you recommend it based on your experience? Thanks!

    Thanks for the review. I just picked up a SEL FWD with the 2.0 last week and find your review very accurate. We had looked at the Hyundai which is nice but the interior colors weren't to my wife's liking. I had test driven a 2015 with the 3.5 V6 and went to get the 2016 with the 6 but bought the 2.0 4 cylinder after a test drive. For the kind of driving we do it's more than adequate and very quite. The leather heated seats are very comfortable.

    This is one of the finest looking cars by Ford. .....and one of the finest among all SUVs. .........I would like to own this one that's for sure.

    I just bought a 2016 Edge from the local dealer with 20,000 miles on it. It was a Ford Corporate vehicle. The vehicle has a noise coming from it that no one seemed to find before I bought it. The service department has the computer set up and talking to Ford to figure out what is wrong. I am sure not happy about that - I have not even put 100 miles on it yet. It has a 3.5L V-6, which is supposed to be a better engine than one of the turbo charged engines.

    I like it; will likely be in the market in about 2 yrs or so. Will see how the reputation holds up (and whether or not gas will still be cheap).

    Somewhat surprised you are calling this a 2016 review. The 2016 isn't out yet but when it does come out there will be one very notable improvement and that is a change in the head unit to Sync 3. Additional improvements will include the availability of a heated steering wheel as part of a cold weather package (without having to upgrade to leather) and a power passenger seat in the cloth version which is important for shorter passengers that need to adjust seat height. We were very close to purchasing a 2015 Edge but couldn't bring ourselves to tie ourselves to a head unit that won't be upgradeable.

    I'm guessing the turbo engines need premium fuel and the 3.5L V6 uses regular. The Ford brochure says "figures achieved with 93 octane fuel". If the price difference is 12c per liter, that's about $9 per fill up. Let's say one fill up per week, that's $450 more per year in fuel costs. Nobody ever mentions this when reviewing forced induction engines.

    Another day another geat preview, great j o b as usual, you're the man. I'm on the used car market for a 30000$ suv, 2014 kia sorento sx fully loaded vs snatafe 2.0 turbo almost w/o panoramic sun roof. What's are you thoughts one theses 2. No edge because too expensive. No gmc terrain/equinox too much plastic and no panoramic roof.No outlander or journey look crap.

    Great review. I like this crossover but will likely wait until the new infotainment system gets all the bugs out. I like the 2.7 liter twin turbo as well. When I start looking seriously will also look at the Lexus 450 and maybe the Acura MDX as well.

      +Dizz21e Probably because it's not worth it. I have one currently, and regret buying it. Filled with cheap plastics, rattles, and lackluster power(even Turbo). It's one of the nicest looking vehicles on the road, but unfortunately in my opinion and experience with owning this car... that's about all it has going for it.

  • @Mr.BobbyBrown
    @Mr.BobbyBrown 9 років тому +5

    I test drove an Edge about 2 months ago, and even though I liked the vehicle, I thought it was heavily overpriced compared to it's competition. The Santa Fe blows this out of the water IMO, and that's a hard thing to say considering my distrust in Hyundai.

    • @SPL-6
      @SPL-6 9 років тому

      +Mr Bobby Brown Exactly!

    • @Cruiser203
      @Cruiser203 9 років тому

      +Mr Bobby Brown the santa fe is more suited for families, the edge is a little more luxurious and refined. Nissan murano is a better comparison if you ask me.

    • @ponygt6629
      @ponygt6629 9 років тому +3

      +Mr Bobby Brown
      The Santa Fe is no match to the EDGE, I am a BMW X5 owner, used it for 3 years until its primary warranty is out and then wanted an SUV that drives smart and yet be as comfy as X5 and believe me, I never thought I would go Ford way, the Santa Fe cant hold a candle to Edges handling, its night and day difference, despite all this the Edge is super smooth and comfy too, the 2.0 gives an average of 21 mpg combined, sure its low but the BMW gave me lower mpgs, also If somebody wants a near luxury sporty SUV, look no further than the EDGE,
      Murano too was good but the CVT is SHIT and so is he handling.

    • @Mr.BobbyBrown
      @Mr.BobbyBrown 9 років тому +4

      +Ponygt 662 I disagree to an extent. I drove the Edge and can attest to the handling being very good, but as far as features and comfort go the Santa Fe is on par. I believe the Edge can tow more, but as a whole, they are very close. I would never consider an edge to be on a luxurious scale, and would instead suggest other Ford SUVs for that category. I agree with what you said about the Murano. Beautiful looking(inside and out), but the handling and the CVT are garbage.

    • @ponygt6629
      @ponygt6629 9 років тому +1

      Mr Bobby Brown
      No way, th. hy parallel and perpendicular park assist are way ahead of any tech Hyundai has, also the Fords reverse cam quality is easily better than Santa Fes, then comes the sound system, true its not as great as the Revel audio and the Boss in Audis but way way better than tinny feeling Santa Fes system, then there s the Power, the Santa Fes 2.0 turbo though rated at 260 HP felt slow compared to eager 2.0 turbo of Edge and Hyundao dont even think of keepping up with the 2.7 TT EB,
      The steering of Hyindai feels like a toy compared to that of Edge, light at low speeds but weighs well at highway speeds in the Edge,unlike lifeless Hyundai.
      Then there is the balance of ride and handling factor ,sorry Hyundai is nowhere near as good as Edge, these are qualities one can appreciate from premium brands like BMW,Audi,Merc etc
      The things Edge misses are a slightly better fit finish for interior,SynC 3,a luxury badge, and thats exatly what MKX offers which alos I found better than Acura and Lexus of same class

    fuel economy wise what would you suggest engine sizes for city driving and highway driving? im assuming 2.0L. I live in Fredericton New Brunswick.

    • @Lucky8s
      @Lucky8s 9 років тому +1

      +shredfactor7 The 2.0L Ecoboost supposedly gets good city mileage, but that's seldom the case in real world testing. Most owners reportedly get slightly lower mpg, including my mom, who gets around 20 to 21 mpg solely driving in the city with her 2014 Escape 4WD with the 1.6L Ecoboost engine (rated 23 city). It's not that bad, but still, it's slightly off from the predicted numbers. I must mention that the engines do get very good highway mileage though. I drove her vehicle at 120 km/h on the Trans-Canada Highway and got over 33 mpg (rated 32).
      TL;DR. Slightly lower mileage than predicted in the city; great mileage on the highway.
      Hope this helps.

    Hey Zack, I'm deciding between Ford edge and Nissan Murano. Which one do you recommend in terms of reliability and sportiness?

    • @Cruiser203
      @Cruiser203 9 років тому

      +noobkosh they should be the same when it comes to reliability, but the edge is a lot more sporty. murano is more of a soft quite highway cruiser.

    • @Motormouth...
      @Motormouth...  9 років тому +2

      +noobkosh Murano is softer and more laid back.

      EDGE if U want at least some smile while driving cuz it handles way better than Murano and the CVT in Murano, frankly how does people pay so much for a CVT

    • @noobkosh
      @noobkosh 9 років тому

      +Motormouth Canada I like the interior of Murano better but exterior of Edge is more sporty. I havent test driven it but Ive driven fusion with the 2 litre turbo engine and the turbo lag was very noticeable. Does Edge has the same turbo lag? and does this small engine has enough power for this heavy car? I prefer a V6 but the V6 in Edge burns more gas than Murano.

    • @noobkosh
      @noobkosh 9 років тому

      +Ponygt 662 Frankly most of the cars ive driven had CVT so I cant tell the difference when it comes to handling. But I didnt like the turbo lag in fusion 2litre turbo. this engine leaves a smile in my face but a few moments after I push the pedal.

    I love my 2010 Edge Limited Edition & plan to keep it for years. The 2016 and what I've seen of the 2017 models may be as reliable, hopefully as good on snow and ice, but I think the body styling is UGLY ( I'm sure I'm not the only one). Hope you can get my opinion to someone high up in Ford, because talking to dealership people amounts to talking into the wind. Ford has a history of taking a beautiful design then making each advancing new model year go from beautiful to marginally attractive (must be a psychotic marketing scheme).

All 2016 models use the new Ford Sync 3. Plus there's some other small changes to the model with new adaptive steering that's not in the 2015. Shame. • @CyberagaEdm
      @CyberagaEdm 9 років тому +1

      +rcpmac that's not it trust me, his model has the navigation which comes with the pano sunroof. So the system in the edge will be ford sync but it's ford sync 2 not Ford sync 3 that's in the 2016 models . I own a 16 and you can't purchase one with that old infotainment system in it unless it's a 2015 or older. The whole interface is different. It no longer has the 4 sections. It has hot keys on the bottom to access
      all areas, audio , climate, nav, system settings, apps, phone. This edge is an 2015 not 16.

    • @Lucky8s
      @Lucky8s 9 років тому

      +Anthony B Automakers usually introduce the next model year of their vehicle one year before they do so. For example, the 2015 Ford Mustang was unveiled in late 2013 and began production in early 2014. The same goes for this Edge and almost every other vehicle out there.

    • @anthonyb97
      @anthonyb97 9 років тому

      +WuWei Xu I understand that, however if you do a review you correctly name it. This car reviewed is a 2015 Ford Edge. 2016 models have sync 3 and a new adaptive steering system. The name of this video clearly started 2016 Ford Edge review. When this in fact isn't even a 2016 model. Therefore it's false advertising.

    • @anthonyb97
      @anthonyb97 9 років тому

      +WuWei Xu I hope you're not trying to say this is a 2016 model, if you are you're wrong in so many ways.

    • @Lucky8s

      Anthony B You're the one who's wrong. Early 2016 Ford Edge do still ship with MFT.

    • @anthonyb97
      @anthonyb97 9 років тому

      WuWei Xu Nope, look it up 2016 models have sync 3 and adaptive steering. MFT isn't upgradable to sync 3, 2016's difference is sync 3 and adaptive steering. No 2016 models ship with MFT, that would be a 2015 model. Also first edges were delivered about a month ago. From pre-orders back on thanksgiving, they didn't start building them until late December. The minor interior details also make it obvious it's a 2015.
