I bought this car and so far I 💘. When in Cruse Control the car eases back by itself if you get to close to a car and then picks right back up when the car is no longer in the way. I like this feature a lot AND, you can start the car from inside the house so it can be already heated up or cooled off YESSS
The main reason I'm looking into the Edge is because it DOESNT have the 3rd row seating. I personally find most 3rd row SUV to be inaccessible and cramped. Not often used. I like that huge trunk area for groceries or camping gear, luggage ect. I am looking for an SUV that has a good amount of cargo area... but could also seat 4 people comfortably. Roughly deep is the cargo area when the back seats are folded down? 6ft? There didn't seem to be a lot of leg room in the back. Would be nice to see a tall guy like yourself sit back there.
I was very impressed with the size of this SUV. There was much more cargo space there than it looked to me initially. In fact, when I opened the back up, I thought there had to be a third row seat folded down, there was that much room. But you're right about the third row, many of them would only be comfortable for children. So unless you have the Brady Bunch and need the seating, a bigger cargo area would be better for you.
himynameistim The Edge is actually a very spacious SUV. I personally have this vehicle and the trunk space is enormous (bigger than most SUV's like the X5). I'm 5"10 and I fit in the back with a lot of leg room. Some of my friend's who are over 6 feet also fit in the back with a lot of room. The car is also very quick (if you get the sport line). None the less, a great buy!
himynameistim There is actually a lot of rear seat leg room, and the rear seats do recline, which is neat. Also, three adults can actually fit comfortably in the rear when necessary.
Glad that my mom is driving a 2017 Edge Titanium with no "tacked-on" third-row seat! It's better than her 2004 Explorer which didn't have good backseat room.
On my 2017 titanium the one thing you may not have seen but on top of the dash driver side there is a red night that lights up and beeps at you for when someone brakes really quickly in front of you and the vehicle also slows down if you can’t react quickly enough
I have a similar ford edge 2017 , one feature you did not mention is the two usb outlets in the opening in front of the gear shift is that when you plug in you phone .Your phone nav. Will over ride you vehicle nav. System.
My mother currently drives a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium with the 2.0 EcoBoost engine that she'd brought at Enterprise Car Sales on May 25th, 2018. It was a huge turnaround for her because the transmission in her 2004 Explorer Eddie Bauer had the overdrive off light blinking like a child throwing a tantrum. The Edge Titanium didn't had no option group unlike the 2018 model that she'd rented in December 18th, 2017. It was nicely equipped with ambient lighting, foot-activated hatch, awesome gas mileage, large room, and other items. Her complaint is the Titanium didn't have the navigation & remote start. I'm glad that my mom didn't have no sunroof because she don't want to experience the leaks that she has with her 2004 Explorer which is rubbish.
Forgot to mention, my Edge has a little bump on the door handle which allows you to lock the vehicle with the touch of a finger. It also unlocks automatically once you touch the door handle. All in all Ford has made a pretty nice vehicle. My truck which is also a Ford F150 has the ecoboost engine which shuts down when you come to a red light and apply the brake. Once the brake is released the motor starts up again automatically to save fuel when sitting at a red light or in traffic.
This car is definitely the best car I've ever seen. I can feel that ford engineers did their utmost best to make travelling safer, comfortable and most of all eco friendly. Too bad I don't have money yet. I would definitely buy this one no Buts.
I have pretty much the same vehicle which is a 2014 version. Here in Canada it is sold as an xlt and my edge has all of the bells and whistles except for the lane warnings in the mirrors and on the main gauge with the lines changing colour. One thing you did miss was the back up camera and the warning system on the back that lets you know if you are getting too close to objects that you may run in to. My Edge does not have this at the front but some do which is a big help when parking. Happy Motoring. Paul
I absolutely love my 2016 Ford Edge titanium coming up on a year since I bought it and I'm still so in love with it perfect for car seats spacious for tall or bigger people great sound system it's my buddy my mom car without feeling like a boring mom car very easy to maneuver even given it's size it handles amazing in tight spaces LOVE IT!
I have a 2016 titanium and it's been perfect. My only complaint is the headlights on my model are not HID they are halogen and not really bright enough.
We currently have only the 2017 Ford Explorer XLT and Sport in stock and would be happy to do a review on one of those for you. Does that work? We can always revisit with a Limited if/when we get one in stock.
I was considering factory ordering a 2018 in the fall, but after seeing this, my mind is totally made up. I've even decided on the Burgandy color if it's available. Thanks for a such a great review!
Thanks for your review. However, you did not speak on the Front facing camera below the Ford logo as well as show us the Reverse camera functionality as well as the navigation system. All the same, a good review.
hi, i am writing to you from germany, so far i always used ford galaxy grand c max and kuga and now i want ford edge. ford edge is not available in germany, but i still want to buy it. can you tell me about the edge, should i buy this car because i have done a lot of road.. thanks
I have a '16 Edge Sport (2.7l v6 twin turbo) and routinely get over 27MPG on the road (my 4600 mile average is 24.4 MPG) - much better than my 2011 which never got better than 24 on the highway.
I love this vehicle and you did a great review. Could you please do review on the twin turbo V6 ecoboost Sport model of the same loaded Edge as I would like to buy one and want the extra power for towing and riding in the mountains. hoping it has more power for such. thank you kindly.
I enjoyed your review. I really like this Ford Edge. Never thought I'd like a Ford. But coming from a 01 Camry, 96 Maxima, and 14 Civic, I want more praticality, and this looks like it. I hope it can be trusted longterm. Oh and you missed the reclining rear seats.
That is called a panoramic sunroof that pretty much every car of class has. Garage door openers are called HomeLink. What about a hands free smart trunk where all you need to do is stand behind a vehicle for 5 seconds with a blinker countdown and it opens without any action also found on compact sedans.
My dad's new Sonata Limited 2.0T has all this stuff minus the AC plug in back, but still has cigarette lighter and even a loaded version of my Elantra has some of this stuff in it. Comparing it to other cars, not too much that shocked me with how advanced modern vehicles have gotten.
There was no mention of the breaking system, the engine, cabin noise (sun/moon roof closed), safety ratings and passenger comfort. A lot of the reviews only get the drivers perspective but, I would like to hear a passenger share their thoughts after riding in a car.
We thought we had narrowed down our search for an SUV to the Edge, though we've never had a Ford before (always GM). I liked the exterior looks, the interior looks, the engines, the features, on and on. So the questions was would I enjoy driving it, and went to a dealership to take a spin. I liked the feel of the seating, the power, the handling (electric steering felt a little "off" to me). But one thing was a deal-breaker for me - the primary forward driving view - the hood! To me its a hideous look with those two small raised "channels" up both sides. it literally looks like a piece of steel barn roofing slapped over the engine. I just couldn't stomach that look forward at the road. The hood is anything but pleasing to the eye and a complete deal breaker. That may sound ridiculous but I drive a lot in my occupation and the hood view is what you see all day, more than anything. Without sitting in one you really wouldn't notice the repulsive resemblance to steel roofing the hood has. Sounds a bit harsh I know but I was greatly disappointed by this when I test drove. Oh well - so I'm bounced back to the GM's I've always had (Acadia). One thing I like about Ford products is the circular wheel wells, GM tends to use a more squared look.
I totally agree about the hood. Bought the wife a 2017 sel. We have named the hood "klingon warrior". Ford you made a decent car, but the hood has to look good inside and out!!!
I bought a second hand 2017 model in the UK. I use it to tow my touring carvan, it does this with ease. Overall I'm pleased with the vehicle but I don't like the climate controls at all, they are way more complicated than they need to be.
Andrew Allheart I was wondering the same thing. I test drove a 2017 Platinum, but it didn't even come with Fog Lights, which surprised me, especially considering the cost of the Platinum.
sjpavur Yeah, the headlight and LED DRL set up are better too. I don't see why they don't just bring that version over. It might cost a bit more but it's already so expensive, just update it Ford :(
If this was indeed a 2017 then it was pretty "fresh" they didn't start building the '17 Edges until mid October.... I think it is though from the description of the color.
Smail Ford Yep, the color listed wasn't avail for 2016.... I have a loaded 2016 Edge Sport in Too Good To Be Blue. They are indeed very nice. The wife drives a 2017 Explorer Platinum and loves that too!
As someone who drove this vehicle for a 1000 mile roadtrip, I can tell you that there are better options out there. Perhaps an Explorer is more driver-friendly. This SUV does not handle well, the transmission is not good. Visibility is bad. The engine's power is not used at all. Get a Mazda if you want a better refined and a keeper SUV that is the CURRENT version. Ford is just adding stuff, not innovating on this Mazda.
This may be the best review I have seen in awhile man
I bought this car and so far I 💘.

himynameistim Third-row seats in an SUV are tacked-on, which it wasn't designed to fit adults.

Ford Edge Titaniun looks really awesome. I have to do a test drive to see how the car handles. Great job Ford!
I have a similar ford edge 2017 , one feature you did not mention is the two usb outlets in the opening in front of the gear shift is that when you plug in you phone .Your phone nav. Will over ride you vehicle nav. System.
Excellent review and done with humour and style…
well done, I'm renting one for a two-week road trip, your review makes me comfortable with my choise
This we be my next car,I love it, I have a Ford escape now. Thank you for sharing this video.
Excellent review! Well worth the time it took to watch it. Thank You!
Thanks for watching! We appreciate the support.

Titanium comes with HID headlights ????

I own a 2013 Edge, the back seats in mine have a reclining feature. I suspect the 2017 does as well. BTW nice review.

Manueverability? Acceleration? Seat comfort? Cabin quietness/noise?
Great review! but to forgot to open the hood to see the engine. =)
I saw a slot for fog lights but I did not see fog lights. titanium trim no foglights?
tom martin Yes, it is hard to believe that the top of the line model would not automatically come equipped with fog lights!
None of them have fog lights. They only have that slot for the LED accent lights surrounding it.
This car is incredible
I absolutely love my 2016 Ford Edge titanium coming up on a year since I bought it and I'm still so in love with it perfect for car seats spacious for tall or bigger people great sound system it's my buddy my mom car without feeling like a boring mom car very easy to maneuver even given it's size it handles amazing in tight spaces LOVE IT!
How’s it holding up now? I want a midsize suv and like the look of this one
I have a 2016 titanium and it's been perfect. My only complaint is the headlights on my model are not HID they are halogen and not really bright enough.
Great review dude! Nicely done.
Thanks, K Erickson!
Wonder if the U.K. Model is the same spec and engine options
sweet ride man! I have a 2014 Ford Edge and love it!
Nice review......
I would like to see a review for the 2017 Ford explorer, Limited edition if you could......thanks..
We currently have only the 2017 Ford Explorer XLT and Sport in stock and would be happy to do a review on one of those for you. Does that work? We can always revisit with a Limited if/when we get one in stock.

This is a very nice SUV, I am changing my Ford Explorer Limited for the Edge because of the 3rd row of seats is not needed.
best review yet im renting a crossover of this class and hoping to get an edge
You didn't mention that the rear seats also recline.
Thanks for your review. However, you did not speak on the Front facing camera below the Ford logo as well as show us the Reverse camera functionality as well as the navigation system. All the same, a good review.

How much is this vehicle?
I’m in love

hi what kind of fuel to you used is it premium or regular? it is recomended premium but can you put regular??
I have Eco sport! its amazing feel while driving! Music system is very good with more Bass... love Ford...

What state
a centralized Zingers containment facility on the top of dash. that's how we roll in my house hold.
Now I have no doubt making the right decision buying an edge
very nice video
Is that fuel door locked from the inside? most ford vehicles are not ... hmm
Hugh Le If the fuel door doesn't have a spout on the side of it, it must be released from inside.

you did not mincing about the 180 degree
It's either this or the Nissan murano
You forgot smart acsess system
Nice review
just a shame you drove with the drivers side window covered with a notice.
Nice vid, I love this SUV, I just wish it had proper fog lights like the European version. Why Ford? Why???
Andrew Allheart I was wondering the same thing. I test drove a 2017 Platinum, but it didn't even come with Fog Lights, which surprised me, especially considering the cost of the Platinum.

I wish we had the explorer in Europe though. :p
why do people worry about fog lights, i've seldom seen them improve any lighting for me... had them on many vehicles
you know, i was on a mission to get me a Jeep Cherokee...now this is starting to change my mind
So what'd you finally get?
Same i was looking at the Santa fe
Bring the 7 seater Edge to the US Ford, and while you're at it bring the Everest too!
nice suv

don't ever get the hundy or however you spell that pos. I used one from a rent a car place and it sucks ass.
Hyundai
josh b I switched from Hyundai to Mazda. Best decision I ever made. I got a 3 and a CX-9 they are both awesome
Due to your height, you should actually sit in the back seats so viewers can get a good idea of leg and head space :)
Great idea Sandy!
I LOVE THIS VIDEO.AND I LOVE FORD EDGE,I HAVE 2015,THE SAME COLOR,I LOVE I WISH I CAN CHANGE 2017,,,
you missed the paddle shifters
It has a Self-Destruct-Button. 😂
It looks like...
Moonroof or sunroof, not the same thing. Answer: That, sir, is a moonroof. (See 504.la/2vhM20z)
