- The sun came out for todays North West Wanderer railtour with a Class 40, 45 and a 50 taking a roll as well as others later in the day, we first see BR Class 50 50050 (D400) Fearless with eleven on and BR Class 45 45118 The Royal Artilleryman on the rear at Scout Green then after moving to rather windy Birkett Common where the Peak 45118 ran tnt with 50050 on the rear then later in the day I moved to Giggleswick Bank where BR Class 40 40013 (D400) Andania would lead a failed 50050 tnt with 45118 on the rear then you'll hear a whistle and if you look carefully you'll see Tangmere in the distance with the Northern Belle drifting towards Settle Junction, hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.
Nige, A mega vintage diesel railtour and nicely captured. Regards, John
Thanks John, definitely the highlight of the year so hopefully something similar would be great in the future, regards nige👍
Very nice filming of the rail tour Nige. Great to see these locos on the main line. 👍
Cheers - Allan.
Thanks Allan, we don’t see enough of these classics nowadays, cheers nige👍
What a tour this was!!! Great captures, sights and sounds, nige.
Thanks Phil, it’s great to see this type of tour running with such a variety of classic loco’s, cheers 👍
Superb Nige , fantastic sight and sound all round and what a catch getting Tangmere in the shot 👍👍👍
Thanks Steve, a railtour that’s just about got the lot if you managed to chase it, yes that was a nice surprise, cheers 👍
What a lovely sight to see a 50 over Shap! Glad it got over the fells ok as I don't think all was well with D400 as it was shut down at Carlisle and didn't run for the rest of the day!
Another excellent video and even the weather was nice!
Thanks for watching Lynden and your lovely comment, from what I’d heard the 50 had a coolant leak so that was it, and great to have the sunshine all day which certainly made the locos stand out, cheers 👍
Wow nige brilliant stuff certainly different from Tangmere spot on 😊
Thanks Graham, its great to see a railtour with plenty of variety for a change which is why I didn’t bother with Tangmere although she did sneak in the giggy shot, cheers 👍
Incredible shot with Tangmere in the backround!
Thanks for watching and your comment, just lucky Tangmere was running early but a nice surprise, cheers 👍
Superb classic diesel sights and sounds very well captured Nige. Coaching stock looking great as well. Cheers, Jeff.
Thanks for your lovely comments Jeff, very much appreciated as always, regards nige 👍
Good coverage of the day Nige. Very fortunate to capture the distant shot of Tangmere too
Thanks Austin, a hot day but a rewarding one and a day I hadn’t intended catching Tangmere only for her to run early and make a sneak appearance in the distance, cheers 👍
Superb video Nige, wonderfull tour of some classic Diesels in some beautifull locations, this was a popular tour indeed, best one for a while i would say, cheers Steve . 🎥👍🌝
Thanks Steve, yes a great railtour with plenty of variety and with some lovely weather, what more could you want, cheers 👍
Looking good
Thanks Scott, yes it certainly was and sounding great with it, cheers 👍

Mega day out! Great audio 👌🏼👌🏼
Thanks Ian, yes some great sounds and even the weather turn up on the day, cheers 👍
A well planned out day Nige, super action. Good to see a Peak up this way. Better than seeing Tangmere😂.👍
Thanks David, a great day but rather too hot for me although I enjoyed the variety of diesel’s, twenty years since a last saw a Peak on Shap, definitely although I hadn’t plan to catch Tangmere she sneaked into a shot in the distance, cheers 👍
Great footage Nige shame I missed it, would loved to have taken such a rare and collection of 60s supertraction thanks Brian
Thanks Brian, yes a shame you missed it as it was the railtour of railtours and a very nice change from Tangmere, cheers nige 👍
Excellent final shot. That was a real slog with 11 + a Class 50 (another 117 tonnes) + a Peak (130+ tonnes)!😰
Thanks Andrei, yes definitely some weight on there and a wonderful sound, cheers 👍
Excellent captures and looking forward to seeing the Class 50's running the forthcoming Grampian Highlander tour as these locos were never a
feature on the ECML north of Edinburgh and I have only seem them before at heritage lines like the SVR.👍
Thanks Stephen, this was probably the best diesel railtour we’ve had in a long time, you won’t be disappointed with the 50 especially with a pair of them and that trademark English Electric sound so not long to wait, cheers 👍
Great video Nige :)
Thanks Simon much appreciated, cheers 👍
Fearless going great guns up Shap with the equivalent of load 15 on the hook! And the 40 had its work cut out…load 11 plus a failed 50 and a Peak!
Thanks for watching, great railtour and some great performances throughout the day, cheers 👍
Another lovely video nige well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on UA-cam bye for now Philip
Thanks Philip much appreciated as always, probably the Scarborough Spa next, cheers 👍
Do you know what loco it is
45118-hellfire fan
👍😂
The 50 lost coolent
@@russb2286 Thanks for that Russ as I was told that it was a loss of coolant by someone at Giggleswick Bank but then reported by someone on the tour that it was oil pressure, cheers 👍
