Great catches nige. Love the first, using the long zoom,👍
Thanks Phil, it’s usually a bit longer view than that from the top but the broom/gorse bushes were blowing into the shot so had to cut the starting section but it is a good vantage point, cheers 👍
A solid set of shots of Tangmere Nige, good to see it back in action, hopefully not too much 🤔, should be a cracking year for steam, lets hope so, cheers Steve . 🎥👍
Thanks Steve, a better day than expected and a decent performance from Tangmere and yes we would like to see a bit more variety this year, cheers 👍
Grand shots over Shap Nige, knocking on through KS, didn't realise they had the electronic screens on the platforms now up those parts!
Many thanks Ian, certainly putting in a good effort and a nice charge through KS, hadn’t noticed the electronic screen until you mentioned it 🤔 cheers 👍
@@nige7577 same, first one I've seen over S&C, lets hope any others are more discrete!
Excellent footage Nige, good to see Tangmere back in action and not "sparing the horses". Looking great at KS with some afternoon sun. I'm sure that Philip enjoyed his day out, it would be much better than his more usual Wilpshire in the dark (and me for company).😺
Many thanks David, yes much better than what we were expecting and improving conditions on the return, only to happy to help Philip and his mum as well as finding new locations for them and more so this time of year with the light fading early, and I’m sure he’s enjoyed your company just as much David, cheers 👍
Excellent weather conditions out on the fells which certainly made for the great footage.
Many thanks Lynden, a great performance from Tangmere and the weather was certainly on our side as you know what Shap can be like, cheers 👍
Great done video Nige :)
Thanks Simon, glad you enjoyed watching, cheers 👍
Valves still ain't right on it but my word has it got its strength back! Didn't sound like the 47 was doing much the whole day! Great videoing Nige!
Thanks for watching and your lovely comment JWS, yes was putting in the effort with minimal help from the rear by the sound of it, cheers 👍
Excellent as always Nige. Thanks for posting and I hope young Philip becomes a life long railway enthusiast.
Many thanks Jed, I don’t know if you have met Philip before as he’s only twelve and accompanied by his mum, he asked if he could come with us to where we were going and we were very happy to oblige and he’s mad about steam trains so you know where that leads 😂 cheers 👍
I haven' t met him though I have a subscriber called Philip who leaves me nice comments - his user name is michael..... Could it be the same Philip. Anyway you did the lad a big favour letting him go with you. I met a lad on Preston docks for the last inward bitumens. He was with his mum (he was about10yrs old). She told us he was mad about Colas engines! and she takes him to see them all. So that's two future lifelong enthusiasts 🙂
@@railwaysceneThat will be Philip his user name is Philip Taylor 1869 and his comments will come through as @michealtaylor1869 , it’s great to see young lads having such an interest in mainline and heritage steam nowadays so the more we can do to help them the better 👍
@@nige7577 That's him. As you say - great that he has so much interest. To be honest I see a lot of yound people taking an avid interest in engines. All the best.
Cheers, Nige. Going well but had some help!
Thanks Alan, some assistance which is always expected to a degree, cheers 👍
In good voice for the first run of the season. Nice shot from the yard.👍
Thanks David, much better than what we were expecting and a good charge through Kirkby Stephen started the year off nicely, cheers 👍
Great coverage Nige the first outing for Tangmere this year, Thanks for sharing Brian
Thanks Brian, a good start to the year for Tangmere so hopefully all goes well as we move forward, cheers nige 👍

@@grahamhall5211 Thanks Graham, a good performance from Tangmere to start the year off unfortunately yes next weeks is cancelled due to low bookings, cheers 👍
Nice filming of the WCME Nige. A good start to the 2025 steam tour season. 👍
Thanks Allan, a good run for Tangmere starting off the year and looking forward to some more variety this year, cheers nige👍
Stunning video Nige of the first train of the 2025 season. It was great to meet up with you and Steve yesterday and have a wee chat. We were really lucky at our location to get the train in full sun on the return leg.
Many thanks Alistair, a good start to the charter season, nice to see you both and have a chat and hope the mud wasn’t too deep 😂 a nice bonus for you both getting the sun when you want it, cheers 👍
@@nige7577 Nige, really lucky as it was not that muddy and what was there was pretty firm so only real problem was the water at the gate but with wellies on it was easy to get through.

Nige, A good performance from Tangmere but I wonder if West Coast are going to have consistent stock colours in future. Nicely captured. Regards, John
Thanks John, a better performance than what we were expecting, yes just a shame they weren’t all the same so we’ll see what happens in future, regards nige👍
Fine set of shots Nige, 34067 working well
Thanks Austin, much better than what we were expecting and nice and cold which certainly helps, cheers 👍
It's good to see Tangmere back out on the main line - thanks for sharing this with us much appreciated
Thanks Louise always a pleasure, a good performance from Tangmere to start the year off and hopefully more to come, cheers 👍
An absolute pleasure to meet you and Stephen nige a big thank you very much for letting us join in thank you for the invitation and I hope we can do it again. Like I always say nige thank you for uploading your lovely video well done with the camera work as usual and I hope we can meet up again soon. Best wishes Philip xx
Many thanks Philip and much appreciated, it was a pleasure to have your company at the top of Shap on Saturday and to help you find new locations, I’m sure we can do this again sometime,
Best wishes nige👍
👍
Many thanks Russ, cheers 👍
Superb as always Nige , you’re certainly the master of the long zoom and pan 👍Considering what we thought might happen it was better than expected 🎥👍
Many thanks Steve, yes a much better day than expected and nice to have the company of young Philip and his mum, cheers 👍
Looking fantastic in the wild, another classic bit of filming Nige, thanks for posting 👍
Many thanks Paul, it’s always bleak this time of year especially on Shap but nice and cold which certainly makes for a good show, cheers 👍
Excellent footage there Nige of Tangmere in action. It's good to see you back filming steam again.
Many thanks Andrew, looking forward to a great year after a good start from Tangmere, cheers 👍
lovely video nige, it was great to get out again!
Thanks Angus, it’s good to get going again and looking forward to some more variety, cheers 👍
Valves are all over the place as per usual with Tangmere. After the cylinder failure last Autumn, youd think WCRC would set the valves properly.
Thanks for watching Colin, unfortunately I’m not an expert on these issues so couldn’t say, cheers👍
Great video footage, Nige. We were out today at Tebay and Ribblehead. Though i was taking aerial photos with my drone today 😊
Thanks Rebecca, a good start to the year, hope you’re getting the hang of your drone then, hopefully you’ll be taking videos as well, cheers 👍
@nige7577 slowly getting the hang of it. Hopefully, I will be able to try filming next steam trip 🙂

Lovely ex SR bob unrebuilt
Thanks John, glad you enjoyed watching, cheers 👍
Needs the valve timing sorting out,it can't be doing much for its performance economy,no wonder it needs help from the diesel box!
Thanks for watching and your comments Alan, I’m not up on these things so couldn’t really comment on the timing issues but good to see her out again, cheers 👍
They carnt just use tangmere why arnt west coast railways fitting other steam locomotives with air breaks the whole thing just doesn't make sence
No one knows what is planned at WCRC James so we will just have to wait and see what happens
Same with the Mk2 stock. The lack of investment is going to come back and bite WCRC as enthusiasts will move to alternative charters for a much better steam experience. Tangmere sounded a bit rough
David smith is very lucky to sill being aloud to run trains
