Moving to a different key is really helpful. I see a lot of videos that show great licks but seeing this done in another key helps make the lick more useful. A video on how to do that in general would be awesome. Thanks for the awesome vids!
Why is it so freaking hard to find teachers that teach like this. It’s amazing it’s like your not making assumptions or desperately trying to show how great you are. Who’d a thought that would work ?
That's so good! Thank you yet again Jayme. The intro to this video was just too groovy I couldn't help but rewind and listen to it. It would be great if you could play and show us that riff. Thanks again 🙏
Just wanted to give you a follow up. HOLY CRAP I cannot believe how much this changed my playing! I feel like I made more progress in the past two weeks then I have in the last 5 years!!! The guys in my band are like dude WTF? I will be forever grateful to you for finally giving me what I needed to to break through that slap wall I’ve been banging my head against for years!!!
that's awesome man, thank you i'm honored! If you want to take it even further I do guided practice sessions for all of my patrons every saturday. Last week we spent about 2 hours on slap technique :) This week I think we're gonna target sweep arpeggios. Check it out at www.patreon.com/JAYMELEWIS And let me know if you have any questions!
@@thenothing2786 I'm honored! Ya the $5/month tier on patreon gives you access to the live practice sessions every saturday, and any membership at thebassist.net gives you access to the replays, just so you know :)
Hi Jayme, your a phenomenal bass player, your teaching methods are fantastic, been watching you for a few years now you never disappoint with ur content and lessons, thank you 🙏
Jayme.......many many thanks for the lesson ....ive been playing in a Sabbath /Dio show for last couple of years as well as in an original band.......but just love this ....the timing the groove ...after 2 days of practice i got it and haven't stop smiling ....love how you explain the steps...many thanks
That was amazing the way you dragged me to this lesson and i never thought that I would be able to catch it but you made that pretty simple.Hope to keep watching your worthy lessons.Thank you and god bless you Sir.🙏
Maybe this sounds stupid, but i always have the impression that UA-cam slap bass guitar teachers have their strings much tighter on the bass than i have them on my bass... Which is weird because i go to a guitar shop to have the setup done. Any thoughts about that? Besides that, i like the lesson but i find it very difficult... Thank you.
@@joninfiction That's the best way to do it. Practice at 60 BPM, and when you've nailed it there try 61. Then 62, 63... It's like weight lifting. How could you possibly expect to bench press 200 lbs if you can't do 75 or 150? I can 100% guarantee you'll nail it (eventually) if you practice it this way. Otherwise, you're blindfolding yourself and throwing a dart at the board, hoping you'll hit a bullseye :) Rant over haha. Hope that helps!
Jayme Lewis - The Bassist I’ll definitely give it a shot. Since my last comment, my progress on that extra x 9 hit, I’ve stopped that. Now I’m just working on timing. Which your advice should definitely help with that.

Why does your bass sound good? Did you eq your sound or it's the way you slap? Or is it the strings? I love the bass tone.
;) it's always in the hands my friend

I’m having trouble with one part. My brain makes me do an extra x 9 slap pop. Every time. I can get it slow, but I can’t seem to shake it.
Are you working with a metronome?
Jayme Lewis - The Bassist I’m not, I probably should be lol
