Also, when he looks at self in mirror he says hi shelby, saying hi to himself. Somehow they recognize each other and themselves. It shows sense of self, that is amazing to me.
You have one adorable bird there. My first love will always be cockatiels. My Dad taught my 29 year old Precious a few tunes and to wolf whistle when he was their bird the first 9 years of his life. He stopped when he was about 25 but Yuki my white face picked up the wolf whistle. My Dad passed in August so when Yuki wolf whistles he sounds just like him.
I used to have a cockatiel that would wolf whistle at people when I took him out in public he even whistled at a cop when I was stopped at a stop light in Palm Bay, FL ,
You usually see Teils whistling, I think it might be harder for them to do the human sounds, but Sunny is just great! He must just love learning these things :)

Sunny is delightful! I love watching videos of birds singing and talking, they make me so happy. They are like anti-depressants with feathers! Anytime I’m feeling down, all I have to do is watch these little cutie pies and I can’t stop smiling. 💜
Sunny your the best whistling little charmer I've ever heard. His ABILITY to remember so many tunes. Mama taught Sunny songs by singing tunes in the shower. Good job I bet mama has a lovely voice. Parrots are so smart most people think they just mimic. It's been proven they have the intellect of a 5 or six yr.old child. They think like one too. I've witnessed Einsteins real concern and empathy for Einsteins(the Texas parrot) parrot mama Marsha when she had a major coughing fit. Einstein sweetly asked Marsha " Are you alright ? The other I also sang Imagine by John Lennon and was the last thing he wanted me to do for him. The moment that when he died on July 3rd 2020 at 5:10 pm. I sang both and he came to me to say (because i couldnt visit him in the hospital to say goodbye to him) thankyou for playing my favorite two songs in spirit to me. I know its sad, but at least he told me thankyou. SM

JKL Its interesting because no matter how interesting the thumbnail or animal I get half or less hits than Onnis video. Im like you. Show me the close up of a baby bird nest, a pet chipmunk doing tricks, a tegu spitting its tongue out in slow motion, etc Not just the same subject. But yeah. Oh my goodness.. he looks almost identical to my baby, Kermit, who passed away on October 6th of this year. It saddens me to see the image of him, but also brings joy to my heart. Sunny is such a perfect bird, and he looks SO happy!
I just had to watch this clip for the umpteenth time---Sunny reminds me of my Squawker from '83 to '88, (I had moved away from home in '88; Squaker lived until 2005.) I miss my cockatiel---he would sometimes sleep with me in bed. I hope Sunny, Onni, and all the others are doing well.

I love love love Onni & all cockatoos. But watching Sunny.. oh I don’t know. There’s something very special about him. I feel really drawn to smaller birdies. I have pictures of me as a toddler, a budgie on each shoulder, smiling at the camera. Apparently they & I were quite inseparable & I vaguely remember them too! We’re talking 30yrs ago now. My mum said I was besotted with them. It makes sense that I become so comforted by the sounds of Sunny & other smaller birds. They just make me smile. Loved the last clip with Sunny on Daddy’s head whistling a song, he was whistling while he ‘worked’! :) Thanks for sharing as always! x

I will back you on that. Of all the birds Ive been around this is the best. They are cuddly and sweet. Not too noisy if u give them proper attention. Get a rescue that is already tame or a hand raised if this is your first.

We watched Buttons videos every single day without fail for almost 2 years. Youd think that would be hard. But it was the opposite. He helped fill a sort of void and inspired our days.

Birds actually give their youngs names as well, and the youngs will recognize their names and call other birds by their names.
