I'm with you, when it comes to focusing on only one knit because of a self-imposed deadline, it definitely takes the joy out of it. I just love listening to what I actually want to work on day-to-day so it's good for me to have a couple of WIPs to choose from!
Can’t wait to see your dress! I recently did the Moss Dress from Sandnes Garn in time for my birthday. I love wearing it, and I’m super proud. Have you considered knitting a bag with your linen?
Hi have been following you for quite sometime now and love your podcasts. I farm and live in southern Saskatchewan. You have totally inspired me to knit the milades dress. I have a couple special weddings next summer.I am going to wait until winter to cast it on so I can really take my time with it. Look forward to a final podcast with u wearing yours in Sicily. Enjoy your holiday!
Awesome job getting your dress this far! I find I need a deadline or I’d finish nothing because casting on new projects is always so much fun 🤩🤩 Cannot wait to see you in beautiful Sicily sipping a cool glass something delicious whilst wearing your stunning dress 🌺 I can pretty much guarantee you will not have your needles confiscated when traveling to Italy so take whatever you need. Have a wonderful vacation - Sicily is beautiful, the food is incredible and the wine is delightful!
Hi Sheri! The Katia yarn is really beautiful, I did knit a shawl recently and I received so many compliments on it. I don't know why people on the other side of the ocean seem to think that Katia yarns are of lower quality. I've been to the US recently and went to a yarn store where the owner tried to convince me that Katia is acrylic yarn 😂 I have never knit in acrylic yarn and it was very strange to hear such low opinion of Katia. Regarding the linen, yes it will be a bit challenging to knit, but with every wash it will get softer and softer, don't be afraid to make a tee or summer top ❤
I'm also not sure why it has a bad rep here as I've never used it before. Just based on feel alone though I really like it so far. Maybe it's more based on how the yarn holds up with wear?
@@Goodknits_ it is hard to say.... I have tried several Katia yarns (no acrylic) and I can not say it wears worse or better than most other yarns. Maybe Katia has a line of acrylic yarns that is mainly exported to the US/Canada? Hmm... it is very interesting, actually :)
I am so excited for you to wear your dress in Sicily! Looking forward to your next video. I love my ChiaoGoo shorties! I don't knit socks but I use them for sleeves and it is a game changer for me. I have knit a few larger gauge garments, most of them with fine yarn (for example 2 strands of mohair). I find magic loop is awful on big needles and I also hate DPNs for those applications. So I appreciate the yellow set even more than the blue (but I would never give up the blue either lol).
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. Knitting with shortie needles takes a time to get use to. Try using one long needle and one short it will make it easier. I knit all my socks on short needles.
Remember that the finishing touches are more important than the knitting (sadly haha)! Good job! I just bought a similar dress secondhand to check if i like that style for summer to see if I want to invest and make the melides :)
For anyone who is worried about traveling with their knitting, here’s my genius hack: I went to Spain and France this spring and took my knitting with me. I had my project on circulars and didn’t put them on a holder, but I brought along an extra pair of interchangeable just in case. I put the cord in my tech bag with all my chargers, and put the needles in my makeup back with my eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow pencil, etc. I didn’t have any issues at tsa or customs in any of the airports I was traveling through, but i was ready with a backup plan just in case!
I really love your channel and have enjoyed watching your Melides dress coming along. You're almost there!!! I wanted to let you know that the Ppoppo jacket should be pronounced more like "po-po" (you don't double the initial p sound). Ppoppo is the Korean sound for kissing. So the meaning is something like "kiss-kiss" jacket. :)
I used concept by katia yarn (I think it was some blown alpaca-cotton mix) for my first projects which were sweaters for my young kids. That yarn has hold up like nothing else. The sweaters have been worn for several winters on daily bases as we have tough winters (I don't know how one fit my kid from 1-3 yo) and they are in great condition. Not sure of their other yarns but that one has really surprised me.

Exactly. I feel much better having a few WIPs again!
You are almost there with your dress! Great job!
The only time I have ever had my needles taken away was in Italy 😱 I hope you don’t run into any trouble and have a lovely vacation!
Made it safe and sound!
Love how your dress has worked up. I like the idea of a low contrast on your upcoming top. Have a safe trip
Well done for sticking with it. I'm sure you will really enjoy wearing your beautiful dress👩🌾🐑
I hope so!
Lanivendole wool is stunning. You will love it.

I did consider a bag! Any recommendations? I think I’ll have enough yarn left over from tee to make a bag
Love all of your color choices! It's like looking at my wishlist lol like the idea of adding a tonal stripe to the purple.
Glad you enjoy!
For your t-shirt I would do a low contrast or only one color could be very nice too!

The dress will be worth it!
Thank you for another great podcast, and thank you for sharing my hand dyed yarns in the video

Good to hear about the shorties! Hoping I’ll really like them

Thanks for the pronunciation help! So hard to know how all these different patterns and yarns are pronounced from all over the world

Good to hear! Hopefully this yarn will be nice. It feels great so far
