DEI has made me very aware that certain people may have the job not because they are qualified to do it but because they fit the DEI protocol. DEI back fired. I hope you supposedly "educated" liberals are happy.

I can remember when I was in college, if you were caught plagiarizing, you were dismissed, in shame. Now, you can be the president of a college, and if enough people complain, you can still make a million dollars as a teacher. Shameful.

When I hear that UPenn President talk about diversity in medicine, I want to know how blind he is. All the doctors and nurses that I’ve been seeing recently are Asian, African, Middle Eastern, Black, Hispanic and/or Female. The few doctors that I do see that are white males are over the age of 65 and been my doctor for years, but are likely to retire soon. So we need MORE diversity?!

Well, one of the best doctors I've seen was an Indian ( one of Modis' dudes ) in Davenport Iowa. He had a thick accent from the subcontinent, but he was an excellent diagnostician of a complicated situation.

There is an old expression: "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." DEI is a terrible way to do that. Even if you put a million dollars in the sow's ear, it still doesn't make it better. Use the million dollars to buy a silk purse, and you can pocket the change. ;-)

My medical school also went the DEI pathway years ago, and my yearly donations stopped.
Why donate to schools who do not need nor deserve it?

They’re following corporate America on the DEI agenda. You don’t need to be good at what you do anymore, just need to be in one of the groups that claim to be discriminated against. So in turn isn’t that discriminating against the people who truly deserve the positions?
I taught freshman composition for 34 years, full time, in L.A. Gay's first instance of plagiarism in her doctoral dissertation would have earned an F+P grade on a freshman essay. Her second instance would have earned her an F in the class and placement on a public list of plagiarizers. She was the president of Harvard. Those who hired her did not do "due diligence" before hiring her, by checking her ACADEMIC work. Evidently she got hired for being female and black.

Actually, race played a huge role in her appointment. They were looking for a "minority" (read black) female. She was the first legal one that came along. Sad. Merit is dead. And it's worse than the old "good ole boy." system.

Unfortunately, although they have lost their positions as President of their Universities, they are still there. They still teach. They should have been removed from their universities completely. They should never be allowed to teach again. Consequences. There have to be consequences for their actions.
