“I shouldn’t have started this”😂😂😂how many times did I say this! Thank you John for being so realistic, and genuine, I love your gardening style. I have learned a lot by watching your videos, I look forward to spring 2020.
ROFL, I do love your videos; just wish they were longer! You always make me laugh out loud and I love that they are real. Yes, i often start a job and then wish i hadnt because it feels like i have gotten in over my head. Re the wasps, it seems to be a bad year for them all over. I had a huge in-ground nest of yellow jackets in one of my beds. Couldnt water my plants without getting stung. After 6 bites, i tried 3/4 cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid in a gallon of water and it worked. Bees and plants unharmed and wasps are gone. I feel a bit guilty, but they were painful and dangerous..
Sitting here having a coffee contemplating going out into the garden, I have enjoyed this video so much, and whilst I laughed John, you have been so informative and inspirational, I will be out there in the garden, I had material delivered this morning to make small slabbed area, cannot wait to complete it, I can get some nice plants in the ground thank you for love the videos.
Love your cheerful videos ! Have orange Pekoe crocosmia here in Wales. I like the way it all flows to the left over the low wall in my front garden. My garden grows wild. All I do is weed, water & let nature do the rest. Thanks
Thank you John, I am procrastinating that same task in my garden for weeks now lol, thank you for inspiration will do it this week. Crocosmia Lusifer (the one I have) is not my fav plant didn't perform for me the way I expected not sure if this is my wrong doing or just the wrong plant for the space... Love your videos please share more of your knowledge and energy with us!
We all have our own way of doings things, but I would have cut back the foliage beforehand, thus making it a bit easier to dig out the root-ball without possibly damaging the roots of nearby plants.
The beds are beautiful!!!! I know how much work goes into having such a gorgeous garden, well done! I love the plant next to the Crocosmia the one with the pretty burgundy blooms can you share the name please?
But John, you're mixing all that soil with the path gravel. So, you're dead set against growing your Crocosmia through a peony grid you leave in place.
I absolutely love your videos. However, here recently something has changed and the camera is all over the place. It gives me motion sickness. Please work on that as I love watching your videos.
I think they outgrew their space... since they've been there for years (Berlin Wall ... not quite). Perhaps because the tree peony likes it richer (compost and or fertilizer), the neighboring plants will get some of the richness.

Your beds are freaking spectacular Mr. Lord! Oceans of color, texture, movement and excitement...Love the enthusiasm and wisdom. Thanks!

A proper gardener, Gardeners World tonight let's keep our fingers crossed there's something worth watching. Thanks John a professional.
Now that’s what gardening shows should be like. Reality.
Looks like you wanted to flop yourself down for a bit after that speed digging exercise!

Thank you so much, really helpful video. you are a lovely breath of joy, blessings and peace sir,
Oh no, your video has reminded me to sort my crocosmias out this August ! Thank you 😂
I love your enthusiasm , great UA-cam videos, keep up the good work.
I'm in awe of your ambition and dertermination! Contortionist, lmao!!
Love his accent and down-to-earth style!
You are an ambitious man!
Love your garden - love your approach. :)

He has a nice energy the gardener
Ouf ! i was tired after seeing the vidéo
I have same one....bought 20 bulbs,...7 grew but not one flower..
very disappointed
Chrocosmia Lucifer is grown for its very eye catching red flowers but for me it's a bit on the tall side and always flops over.
I plant them very deep - it seems to help
Why didn't you wait until fall Instead of waiting till it's in full bloom?
We all have our own way of doings things, but I would have cut back the foliage beforehand, thus making it a bit easier to dig out the root-ball without possibly damaging the roots of nearby plants.
I love crocosmia and I love your videos!
Breaks my heart!🌸
I have planted quite a few crocosmia 'Lucifr' corms; I would just like to see some evidence of growth!
I've got one exactly the same! But a toad lives in it.....so I'm stuck with it 😀
Maybe next time you can wait until they are done blooming.
Thank you
Signed;
Hummingbirds.
Even crocosmia won't make hummingbirds migrate to Ireland...
Hello John
I will see the rest...
What are you doing with the crocosmias ?
Bulbs ?
Yep...funny guy. I live in Aust, visiting his secret garden is on my bucket list. Problem is that i wont be able to bring plants back through customs.
The beds are beautiful!!!! I know how much work goes into having such a gorgeous garden, well done! I love the plant next to the Crocosmia the one with the pretty burgundy blooms can you share the name please?
It's a type of rodgersia
John, how old are you? i want your energy.
Why do these plants flop! All of mine start out upright, then end up flopping!
Because that is what they do, I can’t understand why people are fixated with their idea of perfect.
That Tree peony will be so happy!!!
Hey, just put a stake around them man. You kind a drag them poor guys.
Good if you had shown how the crocosmia spreads by corms
This is on another video.
But John, you're mixing all that soil with the path gravel. So, you're dead set against growing your Crocosmia through a peony grid you leave in place.
Why do these plants start out fantastic and upright....then fall to the ground?
To spread their seeds farther from the parent plant. The flowers are pollinated, don't need to be high up.
That's very interesting to know thank you very much
i much prefer using a spading fork where ever possible. (not a spade)
Remember it’s not 95 damn degrees there like it is here. My gardening efforts come to a skreaching halt June 1...
I absolutely love your videos. However, here recently something has changed and the camera is all over the place. It gives me motion sickness. Please work on that as I love watching your videos.
Probably don't want to try that in August in Alabama :)
How can I get crocosmia out the middle of a shrub 4:33
why did they flop?
I think they outgrew their space... since they've been there for years (Berlin Wall ... not quite). Perhaps because the tree peony likes it richer (compost and or fertilizer), the neighboring plants will get some of the richness.
